Bret Michaels recently had a cancer scare, but it didn’t keep him from rocking. In an Instagram post, the Poison frontman showed off a scar on his hip from a biopsy he had done Friday.

“Just knowing that I absolutely love the outdoors & the sun but with the recent passing of my friend Jimmy Buffett, I decided it was time for a more recent check up of something I thought was nothing,” he writes. “Turns out, it was something.” Buffett passed away September 1 after a four-year battle with Merkel cell skin cancer.

Michaels says his own procedure “not only may have saved my life but surely extended it,” adding he’s “not completely out of the woods yet.”

He concludes the post by encouraging his followers, especially those who love the outdoors, to get themselves checked out. “You are never out of the fight until the fight is out of you…Remain unbroken, my friends!” he notes.

Michael’s procedure hasn’t slowed him down. Not long after the biopsy, he took the stage in Houston, Texas. His next show is happening October 13 in Corbin, Kentucky. A complete list of dates can be found at bretmichaels.com.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s rumored romance has coincided with spooky season, and one family of Swifties is getting in on the Halloween spirit. Indiana resident Michal Owens has displayed two 12-foot decorative skeletons in her front yard. One of the skeletons, affectionately named Skaylor Swift, dons a blond wig and a blue, sparkly ensemble. The other skeleton, standing mere feet away from Skaylor, rocks Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs jersey and signature mustache.

That’s movie star Justin Timberlake to you. The multihyphenate performer’s new crime thriller film, Reptile, is dominating the Netflix charts. It landed atop the English Films chart, garnering 17.7 million total views. That made it the second-most viewed title of the week, falling only behind the Spanish film Nowhere.

Cher debuted a new holiday song at the Paco Rabanne x H&M launch party in Paris Monday night. “On my way to debut my FIRST song from my NEW album for the FIRST time at the #RabanneHM launch party tonight,” she wrote on Instagram ahead of the performance. The song, “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” will appear on her upcoming Christmas album.

In a new YouTube video for Pitchfork’s Over/Under series, Olivia Rodrigo shares her ratings on various things. What does she find overrated? Being a teenager, high heels and rom-coms, to name a few. As for what she considers to be underrated: American Girl dolls, being in your 20s and heartbreak, of course. “I feel like if I never endured any heartbreak in my life, I wouldn’t be half of the person that I am today,” Olivia said.

Everything’s alright, because Noah Kahan got that call back. The musician announced Tuesday that he’s collaborated with Kacey Musgraves on a duet version of his song “She Calls Me Back.” Noah posted a voice message recording on Instagram to announce the collab. “Hi, you’ve reached the voicemail box of Kacey Musgraves and Noah Kahan,” Kacey says in the recording. “We’ll call you back October 6th.”

The Grammy Museum, in partnership with The Debut Live, will also launch a multi-part event series highlighting iconic hip-hop albums. BET and Mass Appeal will then screen the first two episodes of the upcoming Welcome to Rap City documentary on October 9.

Kelly Rowland is opening up about raising her two sons.

The singer, who’s mom to two-year-old Noah and eight-year-old Titan with husband Tim Weatherspoon, tells Kindred By PARENTS that she’s been inspired by the late Nipsey Hussle to raise her boys “to have integrity.”

“It’s amazing to me that he would talk to his kids about making the right decision even when no one is watching. That was everything,” she says. “Nobody knows how much, how hard you work, but you do it because you love it. I want them to be the kind of men who are proud of themselves. That’s really important to me—being good decision-makers.”

Nipsey, who was killed in 2019 at age 33, was dad to two children. He was vocal about the values he aimed to instill in his kids, including integrity, confidence and being a leader.

“I just want to get this right,” Kelly says. “I want to really be a part of bringing some really amazing young men forth into the world. That was my only prayer. I don’t know why I’m emotional, but my only prayer was to have really great young Black men in this world who were sure of themselves and didn’t have to be told who they were.”

Lionel Richie said “Hello” to his hometown of Tuskegee, Alabama, on Monday, October 2, and he brought fellow American Idol judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan with him.

The three were in town to film for the new season of American Idol, reports AL.com. While they were there, Lionel was given the key to the city by Mayor Lawrence F. Haygood Jr. Lionel, Katy and Luke also took part in a dedication and tree planting in the newly established Hello Park, a green space near Lionel’s alma mater, Tuskegee University.

The park sits on a plot of land that Lionel’s family owns near the school entrance. Lionel said earlier this year that he decided to turn it into “a place for meditation and a place to reflect” on the area’s rich history.

During the tree planting, Luke jokingly asked if the trees would grow “big enough to hold a deer stand” while Katy literally hugged one of the trees, explaining that she’s from California.

American Idol is also filming in Luke and Katy’s respective hometowns of Leesburg, Georgia, and Santa Barbara, California. The new American Idol season airs next year on ABC.
