Two months ago, Miley Cyrus served as the maid of honor when her mom, Tish Cyrus, married actor Dominic Purcell. Now she’s gained another stepparent: Her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, walked down the aisle on October 10.

On Instagram, Billy Ray, 62, posted photos of his wedding to singer Firerose, 34. “10/10/23 will always be the beautiful, joyous day that our two souls united as one in holy matrimony. It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined,” he captioned the photos.

“For both of us to hear the preacher say, ‘Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus… I now pronounce you husband and wife’ that was the sacred moment our new forever began. Long Live Love!” he concluded.

Billy Ray and Firerose have released several collaborative singles. When they performed on Good Morning America in August, Billy Ray said that he and Firerose go together like “peanut butter and jelly.”

No word on whether or not Miley attended the wedding … or if she brought “Flowers.”

Elton John and husband David Furnish are trying to help artists get paid.

According to Sky News, the pair is part of a new group of investors in Audoo, a music technology company trying to improve the way artists are compensated when their music is played in public venues. The company’s Audio Meter monitoring device is able to recognize when songs are played in public spaces like cafes, hair salons, gyms and more.

“Working as a musician can be seen as all glitz and glamour but for the vast majority of artists, especially new and emerging acts, this isn’t the case. It’s often brutally unfair and this sadly extends into being paid correctly,” Elton shares. “Right now, artists are not being paid accurately for their plays because the data simply doesn’t exist.”

He adds, “That’s why we’ve invested in Audoo and their world-class technology, to help create a more transparent system for everyone, and ultimately to keep the music alive.”

Elton and David are part of a new injection of funds to the company, said to be around $5 million. They aren’t the only famous names to put their money behind Audoo: ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus and Paul McCartney’s investment company, MPL Ventures, have also backed Audoo. The company has raised $22 million since it first launched in 2018.

There was a Heart reunion onstage in Santa Rosa, California, on Tuesday, October 10.

Ann Wilson was headlining a show with her Tripsitter band at Luther Burbank Center For The Arts when she invited her sister Nancy Wilson out for the encore. Fan-shot footage posted to YouTube shows the Heart sisters rocking out to their classic tune “Barracuda.”

Nancy had actually teased her appearance earlier in the evening, sharing a picture of one of her picks on top of a setlist and tagging both the venue and her sister.

The last time Heart toured together was in 2019. This year marks the band’s 50th anniversary. In a 2022 Grammy.com interview, Nancy suggested they were going to be doing something to mark the milestone, but so far nothing’s been announced.

Ann Wilson & Tripsitter have tour dates booked through December 11. Their next show is happening Wednesday, October 11, at the State Theatre in Red Bluff, California. A complete list of dates can be found at annwilson.com.

Believe it or not, there are other songs on the Trolls Band Together soundtrack besides the *NSYNC reunion track, and one of them has just been released.

It Takes Two” is a new, original song co-written by Justin Timberlake. It features the stars of the movie — Justin and Anna Kendrick — as well as Camila Cabello, who plays Viva, the long-lost sister of Anna’s character, Poppy. Also on the track are Eric André, Daveed Diggs and Kid Cudi, who play three of the brothers of Justin’s character, Branch.

The song is about how happy Poppy and Viva are to have found each other. Coincidentally, or maybe not, the song has Camila singing the lyric, “I’ll never be the same.” In 2017, she had a top 10 hit with the song “Never Be the Same.”

As previously reported, Trolls Band Together features Branch and Poppy setting off on a mission to rescue one of Branch’s brothers so they can get their family group, BroZone, back together.

The Trolls Band Together soundtrack arrives October 20; the movie hits theaters November 17.

Ghost recorded Los Angeles shows for upcoming movie: “It’s going to be a film with a concert element”

Ghost recorded Los Angeles shows for upcoming movie: “It’s going to be a film with a concert element”
Xavi Torrent/Redferns

In September, Ghost seemed to suggest that their two concerts at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles were being filmed for a future release. Speaking now in an interview with Metal Hammer, frontman Tobias Forge confirms that a Ghost film is indeed in the works.

“We were essentially shooting a film,” Forge shares. “We used two nights of crowds as extras … It’s going to be a film with a concert element. So a lot of what you experienced [at the two LA shows] is going to be part of this project.”

“It’s a concert with something else combined,” he adds of the project.

Attendees already had an inkling that the LA shows would be filmed since cell phones were banned for the concerts, which Forge says had an added benefit.

“I have never seen a crowd interact the way that they did since I was in a club band,” he says. “They were the best shows I’ve ever done with Ghost, just because I didn’t have to see those f****** mobile phones.”
