Zack de la Rocha made a surprise appearance during Run the Jewels’ Thursday show in Los Angeles.

As seen in fan-shot footage posted to YouTube, the Rage Against the Machine frontman joined the rap duo for a rendition of their collaborative song, “Close Your Eyes (and Count to F***).”

Notably, de la Rocha performed standing up for the first time since tearing his Achilles tendon at the beginning of Rage’s 2022 U.S. reunion tour. He finished out the leg performing each night while seated, but the injury forced Rage to cancel their trip to Europe and their 2023 North American tour.

de la Rocha will have another chance to take the stage when Rage is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 3, though no members from the band have yet been announced as performers.

Riley Green‘s sophomore album, Ain’t My Last Rodeo, is out now.

Arriving via BMLG Records, the 12-track record was heavily inspired by Riley’s grandparents and Alabama upbringing.

“I was fortunate enough to grow up within about three miles of my grandparents, so they were a huge part of my growing up and who I am—and this album is a lot of who I am,” says Riley.

“This is really the first time I was able to really take my time, write and record songs that really felt like a cohesive album,” he shares. “I’m really proud of it and want to thank the fans for all of their encouragement.”

Riley will hit the road in 2024 for his headlining Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour with openers Tracy Lawrence and Ella Langley. For the full tour schedule, visit Riley’s website.

Riley’s Luke Combs-assisted single, “Different ‘Round Here,” is currently top 20 on the country charts.

ABC/Heidi Gutman

Paul McCartney is sharing how The Beatles felt about the presence of John Lennon‘s wife, Yoko Ono, in the latest edition of his new podcast, McCartney: A Life In Lyrics.

The episode is titled Let It Be. Those who watched Peter Jackson’s The Beatles: Get Back docuseries might have seen Yoko sit in on the recording sessions for the Let It Be album.

On the podcast, McCartney says John and Yoko getting together “was bound to have an effect on the dynamics of the group.” He later adds of Yoko’s presence, “anything that disturbs us is disturbing.”

“Out of deference to John we would allow this and not make a fuss and yet at the same time, I don’t think any of us particularly liked it,” says McCartney. “It was an interference in the workplace … So not being very confrontational, I think we just bottled it up and just got on with it.”

Jon Pardi and Luke Bryan have released their new single, “Cowboys and Plowboys.”

The neotraditional country track arrives after Jon teased their collaboration on social media earlier this week.

“I’ve always looked up to Luke as a songwriter and an artist, and he’s a great friend,” says Jon. “We’ve been on tour together and he’s been someone that has inspired me along the way and always had my back. We’ve been excited to put this song out for a long time, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Luke adds, “When the writers sent this song I couldn’t stop listening to it and I’m so glad it worked out for Pardi to be the one I got to sing it with. He is one of the most genuine artists I know. What you see is truly what you get and I respect what he continues to build.”

“Cowboys and Plowboys” is Jon’s first new release since his latest album, Mr. Saturday Night, which included “Last Night Lonely” and “Your Heart or Mine.”

Jon’s currently on the North American leg of his Mr. Saturday Night World Tour, which has upcoming stops in Knoxville, Omaha, St. Louis and more. On October 24, he’ll be back in Nashville to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry as a member.

Meanwhile, Luke’s gearing up to host the 57th annual CMA Awards with Peyton Manning on November 8.
