Here’s when the new Meek Mill/Rick Ross album will drop

There’s a new Meek Mill/Rick Ross collaborative album on the way and fans are hyped to learn it’ll be dropping soon.

Expected to hit streaming on November 10, Too Good to be True is the latest joint project by the MMG duo following their series of Self Made projects released in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

In announcing the much-anticipated project, Meek shared a cinematic trailer to Instagram, which includes studio footage of the duo joined by DJ Khaled, then Diddy.

“N***** ain’t seen me or Ross around each other for a long time,” Meek says in the clip. “We got back to the business, straight back to the family love, and jumped right back in the studio immediately. So, y’all about to get that live and direct and what happens. Tune in.”

Fans in Meek’s comment section expressed excitement for the upcoming project, with one writing, “Album of the year, probably the decade.” Another wrote, “This gonna be a [multiple fire emjois] Album.”

Pink reworks Sting’s “Fields of Gold” for new collab, postpones two more shows

Pink has unveiled the first release from the Tour Deluxe Edition of her album Trustfall — and it turns out it’s a reworking of a song that was a hit back in 1993.

“Dreaming” is a collaboration between Pink, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sting and DJ/producer Marshmello. It features Pink and Sting singing new lyrics to the melody of Sting’s hit “Fields of Gold,” a top 25 single in 1993, over a house-influenced dance track.

On Instagram, Pink posted a video of herself, Sting and Marshmello discussing what she calls the “beautifully random” collab. Sting reveals it was Marshmello who was the “prime mover” behind the three unlikely artists teaming up.

“This is kinda the most, maybe unexpected, collaboration any of us ever thought, or maybe the world might think,” adds Marshmello. He’s wearing his signature helmet in the video, so you can’t actually see him talking, but he’s moving his hands around, so you can tell it’s him.

As previously reported, the Tour Deluxe Edition of Trustfall features “Dreaming,” plus six live recordings from Pink’s Summer Carnival stadium tour; the standalone protest song “Irrelevant,” which Pink originally released in July 2022; and a new song called “All Out of Fight.”

Meanwhile, Pink has had to postpone more concerts. She announced on social media that her shows in Vancouver, scheduled for October 20 and 21, will have to be rescheduled because she has a respiratory infection. Earlier this week, she postponed her October 17 and 18 in Tacoma, Washington due to “family medical issues.”

Pentatonix says ‘The Greatest Christmas Hits’ is a holiday playlist that lets you live your best life

A new Pentatonix album, The Greatest Christmas Hits, is out October 20. Though the a cappella group released a Christmas best-of in 2019, they say this one is bigger and better.

“We’ve had a couple of albums since then of songs we’re really proud of, and I feel like we have a better understanding of how to curate the best group of songs for people’s soundtrack to their Christmas memories,” group member Scott Hoying tells ABC Audio.

“[T]here’s ‘Hallelujah‘ and ‘Mary Did You Know,‘ all the ones people love,” he says. “But also, it’s basically a new album too … there’s eight new songs that we’re really proud of and we feel are really inspired — and we can’t wait for people to hear it!”

“We’ll definitely release more Christmas music,” he notes. “I feel like this is just a time in our career where we have this catalog that feels like it could be a perfectly complete, greatest hits.”

In the future, group member Kirstin Maldonado says they may take a different approach.

“I feel like [our holiday songs] will start to … get a little bit more creative in the future, just based on song availability or new originals that we do,” she notes.

But for Christmas 2023, Scott says all you need to do is press play on the new album.

“I feel like so many people at Christmastime don’t wanna put so much thought into what they’re gonna listen to,” he says. “They just go to, like, ‘Christmas Classics’ or ‘Christmas Playlist.’ And so we felt like we wanted to curate this perfect thing where you don’t have to think or change the music.”

He adds, “You just put on the Greatest Hits, open presents and live your best life!”

Neil Young, Keith Richards & more featured on ‘Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl’

Neil Young, Stephen Stills and Keith Richards are among the artists set to appear on the upcoming live release Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl, dropping December 15.

The live album features performances from Willie’s star-studded 90th birthday bash, which took place April 29 and 30, at the famed Los Angeles venue. Other artists featured on Long Story Short include Bobby Weir, Warren Haynes, Dave Matthews, Beck, Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson, Snoop Dog, Tom Jones, Lyle Lovett, Lumineers, Chris Stapleton and Kris Kristofferson.

And music fans are getting their first preview of the set with the release of Dave Matthews’ cover of “Funny How Time Slips Away.” It is available now via digital outlets and on YouTube.

Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live At The Hollywood Bowl will be released in a variety of formats, including two-CD + Blu-ray and digital sets, featuring 39 audio tracks and three hours of video performances. There will also be a two-LP vinyl set with select highlights.

Willie Nelson 90th birthday concert, featuring Dave Matthews, Beck & more, being released as live album

Willie Nelson‘s 90th birthday concert, which featured performances by artists including Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow, Beck, The Lumineers, Nathaniel Rateliff, Gary Clark Jr. and Jack Johnson, is being released as a live album and concert film.

The set, dubbed Long Story Short: Willie Nelson 90 Live at the Hollywood Bowl, will be available as a two-CD & Blu-ray deluxe edition and as a two-LP vinyl package, as well as via digital platforms, on December 15.

Matthews’ performance, a cover of Nelson’s song “Funny How Time Slips Away,” is out now.

Long Story Short was recorded over two nights in April at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The first concert was held on Nelson’s actual 90th birthday.

Nelson is among the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, along with Crow, Rage Against the Machine, Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, George Michael and The Spinners. The Induction Ceremony takes place November 3.

‘Immediate Family’, doc about legendary ’70s session musicians, getting December release

A new documentary giving fans insight into some of the legendary session musicians of the 1970s is getting a theatrical release.

Magnolia Pictures will screen the doc, Immediate Family, in theaters across the country on December 12, with a digital release to follow on December 15.

The film is the follow-up to director Denny Tedesco’s 2008 documentary, The Wrecking Crew, which focused on session musicians of the 1960s. Immediate Family tells the story of Danny Kortchmar, Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel and Waddy Wachtel, featuring new interviews with the musicians.

It also includes interviews with some of the A-list artists they played with, including James Taylor, Keith Richards, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Carole King, Phil Collins and Linda Ronstadt.

He’s got a “Way”: Street named after Billy Joel in Oyster Bay, Long Island

In his song “The Ballad of Billy the Kid,” Billy Joel sang about coming “from a town known as Oyster Bay, Long Island.” On October 19, that town named a street after him.

WABC-TV reports that The Piano Man received a key to the Town of Oyster Bay and was on hand for the unveiling of Billy Joel Way, with the street located in front of his motorcycle shop, 20th Century Cycles. Billy grew up in Hicksville, a hamlet within the town.

During the ceremony, Billy was serenaded by a band made up of kids from the local grade school. He also met with a group of veterans.

“It’s a beautiful day, just a little overwhelming,” Billy told reporters. “I just never figured on this when I was living here.” Calling the experience surreal, he noted, “Who could’ve predicted this? My mom would’ve been thrilled.”

But when asked what it was like for him to see the street sign for the first time, he said he didn’t know, because the sun was shining in his eyes.

As WABC notes, Billy’s charity The Joel Foundation recently donated funds to erect a memorial in honor of the baymen who work in Oyster Bay Harbor. Long Island’s baymen inspired Billy’s hit “The Downeaster ‘Alexa.‘” The foundation also announced the continuation of its long-term investment in Long Island High School for the Arts.

Billy Joel & Sting to co-headline San Diego’s Petco Park

Billy Joel and Sting have announced another co-headlining date. The two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will team up to play San Diego’s Petco Park on Saturday, April 13.

A Citi ticket presale kicks off Monday, October 23, at 10 a.m. local time, with the general onsale set for Friday, October 27, at 10 a.m. local time.

This is the second co-headlining date Billy and Sting have announced. Their first is happening February 24 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. It will mark the first time the rock star friends have headlined a concert together.

But this isn’t the first time Billy has shared a stage at a stadium show. He has toured with Elton John several times and is currently doing co-headlining shows with Stevie Nicks. The two artists next play Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 10.

Jeezy speaks out on divorce for first time: “Decision … comes with a heavy heart”

Jeezy, rapper and ex-husband of Jeannie Mai, is speaking out for the first time since he filed for divorce from the TV host.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart,” Jeezy wrote in a statement. “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

The New York Times bestselling author said that the focus now is on their daughter, Monaco — “the best gift from our relationship.”

“I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves,” Jeezy wrote.

He ended his note saying, “During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”

The rapper’s public address comes a little over two months since he filed for divorce from Jeannie after two years of marriage.

It also comes a week after Jeannie appeared on Sherri for her first interview addressing the divorce, telling the host that amid the separation, Monaco is “my North Star.”

“And I can definitely tell you that I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her,” Jeannie said.

Football team FC Barcelona to add Rolling Stones logo to their kit for upcoming El Clásico

Soccer fans, or football fans to the rest of the world, are about to see a familiar rock logo on the pitch.

The Rolling Stones are teaming with FC Barcelona and Spotify to help promote their new album Hackney Diamonds, which drops Friday, October 20. They’ve just announced a special edition Rolling Stones kit that features the band’s tongue and lips logo on the jersey.

FC Barcelona players will wear the jersey when they play Real Madrid October 28 at the El Clásico match. The women’s team, Barca Femení, will also wear the shirt at their F League match against Sevilla on November 5.

“We are huge football fans and we are grateful that Spotify has brought our tongue and lips logo to the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones’ new album, Hackney Diamonds,” the band shares. “We will cheer on the players who will be on the field as well as the fans around the world who will tune in to this iconic match.”

Some lucky fans will be able to get their hands on these unique jerseys. Two exclusive editions will go on sale October 23: One is limited to 1,899 units and another, consisting of just 22 shirts, features the signatures of the starting players on the men and women’s teams.

This isn’t the first sports-related promotion The Stones are doing for Hackney Diamonds. The band has teamed with Major League Baseball for limited-edition white vinyl versions of the new album, which feature pocket jackets with custom art tailored to each of the 30 MLB baseball teams.
