girl in red has premiered a new single called “October Passed Me By.”
The track was recorded with The National guitarist and Taylor Swift collaborator Aaron Dessner. It’s a sequel to girl in red’s 2018 song “We Fell in Love in October,” which has been certified Platinum by the RIAA and spawned a TikTok trend.
“‘October Passed Me By’ is where I’m at today, emotionally and musically,” girl in red says. “Grateful for what has been, and full of love for a very special person that made a huge impact on me as a person.”
You can listen to “October Passed Me By” now via digital outlets and watch its accompanying, eight-minute short film streaming now on YouTube.
“October Passed Me By” follows girl in red’s 2021 debut album, If I Could Make It Go Quiet, which includes the singles “Serotonin” and “I’ll Call You Mine.”
Sam Smith and Kim Petras have teamed up with Disclosure — yes, the same duo behind Sam’s breakthrough single “Latch” — for an “Unholy” remix. The EDM duo gives the hit song a high octane Eurobeat transformation.
Marshmello released “Bye Bye,” which features vocals from late rapper Juice WRLD. “I made this song the first night that I met Juice. I was already such a big fan of his and being able to work with him and make music with him was an absolute honor. With this song, I intended to keep it exactly the way we made it that night,” Marshmello said in a statement.
Louis Tomlinson dropped “Out Of My System,” which is described as the “most adventurous” song off his forthcoming album, Faith in the Future, which arrives November 11. Louis also unveiled a massive European tour kicking off next year.
Leah Kate is out with the ballad “Hot All the Time.” She also released its music video. The song is about rediscovering her confidence and beauty after ending a relationship.

This year marked the 50th anniversary of the release of Neil Young‘s landmark solo album, Harvest, and to commemorate the milestone, the folk-rock legend will release an expanded edition of the record on December 2.
The Harvest 50th Anniversary Edition box set, which can be preordered now, will be available in two physical versions offering the same content — a three-CD/two-DVD set and a collection featuring two vinyl LPs, a vinyl seven-inch disc and two DVDs.
The CD and vinyl box sets’ respective audio content includes the original Harvest album on one CD or LP, a recording of Young performing a solo acoustic set at the BBC in 1971 on a second CD or LP and three Harvest sessions outtakes on a third CD or the seven-inch vinyl disc.
The two DVDs feature a video of Young’s 1971 BBC performance and a previously unseen two-hour documentary filmed in 1971 that focuses on the making of Harvest. The box sets also include a hardbound book and fold-out poster, while the vinyl version comes with a lithograph print, as well.
Young’s rendition of his chart-topping Harvest hit “Heart of Gold” from the BBC performance has been released as an advance track from the box set and is available now via digital formats. A video of the performance has debuted on Young’s official YouTube channel.
A digital version of the Harvest 50th Anniversary Edition will also be released.
Released in February 1972, Harvest is Neil’s only solo album to top the Billboard 200. It features the aforementioned “Heart of Gold,” Neil’s only single to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Old Man,” which peaked at #31.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have premiered the video for “The Drummer,” a track off the band’s new album, Return of the Dream Canteen.
The clip finds the “Californication” outfit performing in a club of well-choreographed dancers. The song itself doesn’t identify the titular “Drummer,” only that they are “Leaning without any meaning/ Outside of the Club Troubadour,” which refers to the famed venue in — you guessed it — California.
You can watch “The Drummer” video streaming now on YouTube.
Return of the Dream Canteen, which also features the single “Tippa My Tongue” and the Eddie Van Halen tribute “Eddie,” is out now. It’s the second Chili Peppers album of 2022, following April’s Unlimited Love.
Could Katy Perry and Thomas Rhett have another collaboration up their sleeves? It sure looks like it, according to matching posts on their social media accounts.
The pop star dropped a dramatic backlit shot of the pair, with Thomas holding a guitar. She didn’t offer much more info in the caption, only tagging TR and listing a date: “10.18.22.”
Thomas shared the same picture and the same short caption — except he tagged Katy in his post.
What the two stars might have in the works is anyone’s guess. It could be something new having to do with their duet, “Where We Started,” which is the title track of TR’s most recent album and came out this spring.
It’s possible October 18 marks the day they plan to drop the “Where We Started” music video. Then again, who knows? They could be teasing an entirely new collaborative project.
Jefferson Airplane was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, and the three surviving members of the influential San Francisco band’s classic lineup — singer Grace Slick, guitarist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady — attended the ceremony.
Before Slick, Kaukonen and Casady hit the podium to accept the honor, Doors drummer John Densmore gave a speech acknowledging the group’s main members, including late singer/guitarist Paul Kantner, vocalist Marty Balin and drummer Spencer Dryden.
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce chair Lupita Sanchez Cornejo, who emceed the event, then read a proclamation declaring it Jefferson Airplane Day in Hollywood.
Slick, who hasn’t appeared in public very often in recent years, began by declaring, “I am one lucky b****. I’ll tell you why. Jack and Jorma are … real musicians. I’m a screw-off who got lucky.” She then explained how, with little experience, she decided to be a rock singer after seeing Jefferson Airplane play in a small club and soon formed her own band, referring to her pre-Airplane group The Great Society.
“It turns out I did have the right voice for rock ‘n’ roll,” Slick noted. “It’s very loud, and I didn’t have any trouble singing over people.”
Also during her speech, she thanked a close female friend who she said saved her life a couple of months ago, revealing the friend got her to a hospital after she’d gone into septic shock.
In addition, Slick pointed out the hat she was wearing belonged to Kantner, who was the father of her only child, daughter China Kantner. “At least his DNA is here today,” she quipped.
You can watch the whole ceremony on the Walk of Fame’s official YouTube channel.
You can finally check out The Weeknd‘s haunted house at Universal Studios, and now we know how much thought and care was put into making the horrifying display.
The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare opened last month and pays homage to his After Hours album. It’s part of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.
Halloween Horror Nights executive producer John Murdy chatted with Entertainment Tonight about the new attraction, which is billed as a “surreal living nightmare filled with grotesque characters and themes.”
He said The Weeknd — born Abel Tesfaye — had “a very specific idea. He wanted to focus on what he would refer to as ‘the universe of After Hours.’ … He wanted to take that album and turn it into a haunted house experience.”
Murdy loved the direction the haunted house was going because The Weeknd’s visuals do have nightmarish elements to them. “There’s something really dark going on [in Abel’s music videos]. In some ways, darker than a lot of other things we do,” he said.
Murdy said the partnership worked because The Weeknd “thinks very cinematically.”
The single-house experience transports thrill-seekers into the After Hours fantasy world and is soundtracked to the songs “After Hours,” “In Your Eyes,” “Heartless,” “Blinding Lights,” “Save Your Tears” and “Too Late.”
“I always wanted my own Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, as Halloween has always been significant to my music, so this is a total dream come to life,” The Weeknd said in a statement when announcing his new venture. “I feel like my music videos have served as a launching pad for a collaboration like this, and I cannot wait for people to experience this madness!”

Since putting out her Subject to Change album last month, Kelsea Ballerini has been vocal about how excited she was to enlist her real-life friends — Carly Pearce and Kelly Clarkson — as duet partners on their honky-tonkin’ collab, “You’re Drunk, Go Home.”
The three artists have their music careers in common, but that’s not all: for one thing, they’ve all experienced divorce. Carly and Kelly both announced their divorces in 2020, while Kelsea’s currently in the thick of hers. She broke the news to fans in August that she and husband Morgan Evans were calling it quits.
“I mean, obviously when we were recording [‘You’re Drunk, Go Home’] things were different,” Kelsea told ET Onlineon the red carpet for this week’s CMT Artists of the Year when asked if their respective divorces were a bonding experience for them.
“Like I said, we’re friends in real life, and the thing about that is you see us when we’re glittery and we’re doing red carpets — but we have real-life conversations,” Kelsea went on to say. “So it’s really nice to be able to have people that are my peers and heroes that I can go to for music advice, and also life advice.”
At the same event, Carly told ET Online that she’s proud to be able to support Kelsea, who was a big part of her support system when she went through her divorce.
“Kelsea was there through mine,” she said. “I’m there for her through hers.”
Megan Thee Stallion is ready to take over SNL this weekend.
The rapper, who will be hosting for the first time and serving as musical guest, previewed her appearance in a series of teasers with cast member Heidi Gardner.
In the first clip, Megan introduces herself and Gardner says, ”It’s going to be an awesome show, all we have to do is write it.” To which a surprised Meg asks, “We got people working on that, right?”
Another clip has Heidi introducing herself as Heidi Thee Gardner and Megan telling her, “Don’t do that.” And in another teaser, Heidi proclaims the episode will be “a real ‘Hot Girl’ SNL.” Megan sticks out her tongue and does her signature “Ah!” – which Heidi tries, and fails, to imitate.
Meg previously appeared on SNL as musical guest back in 2020, where she performed her hits “Savage” and “Don’t Stop.”
