Britney Spears is thanking her fans for their support of her new memoir, The Woman in Me.

In an Instagram post shared Tuesday, October 24, the day of the book’s official release, Britney celebrated the accomplishment, noting the memoir has already made history.

“It’s happening,” Britney wrote in her caption. “My book is the highest selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all.”

While Britney says her book is the bestselling celebrity memoir of all time, the claim has yet to be confirmed by its publisher, Simon & Schuster.

If true, that would mean The Woman in Me has surpassed Prince Harry’s Spare, which was released in January. Spare currently holds the world record for the fastest selling nonfiction book of all time, with reported release day sales of over 1.4 million copies.

Britney’s book currently tops the Amazon and Barnes & Noble best sellers lists, though specific data about its first day sales are not yet available.

Could we be getting even more new blink-182 music soon?

The reunited classic lineup of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker just dropped their first album in over 10 years together, ONE MORE TIME…, on Friday, October 20. But a new social media post from Barker hints that the trio might be making some additions to the record.

“Wouldn’t it be cool if the album had 2 more songs,” Barker writes alongside the looking eyes emoji.

Barker had previously shared that blink had leftover songs from the ONE MORE TIME… sessions.

In addition to possibly releasing more music, blink is about to get real busy on the road. Their 2024 includes a just-announced U.S. tour as well as dates in Australia and New Zealand, Latin America and Europe.

The tributes poured in for actor Richard Roundtree, who died Tuesday, October 24, from pancreatic cancer at the age of 81.

“The passing of Richard Roundtree is a real blow,” Samuel L. Jackson wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Loved being around him, learning, working, laughing & feeling Blessed to have an idol live up to who I expected him to be!! Thanks for making us feel REAL GOOD about ourselves!”

Jackson, who shared the screen alongside Roundtree in the 2019 remake of the late actor’s most notable film, Shaft, took to Instagram with a similar heartfelt message, calling Roundtree “The Prototype, The Best To Ever Do It.”

Writing of his groundbreaking career as the first Black action hero, Loni Love said, “Sad to hear of the passing of Richard Roundtree.. He was fabulous as John Shaft at a time when there were few leading Black men in film. He put the sexy and cool in being a detective. Rest well.”

“I have no words for this loss,” Tia Mowry tweeted. She worked with Roundtree on the Netflix comedy series Family Reunion.

“Richard, you have made such a lasting impact on my life. I am forever grateful for your warm energy, your light, your heart, and your incredible wisdom,” Mowry said.

Adding that she’ll miss their time together in their work trailers, she said, “Thank you for blessing this world with your gifts.”

Sheryl Lee Ralph shared a series of images of Roundtree to X along with her note: “When I was a teenager I use to dream about growing up to meet Richard Roundtree. I did and what a wonderful human being.”

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Gabrielle Union and NAACP President Derrick Johnson also sent their condolences in notes on X, with Johnson calling Roundtree “a true icon.”

The Kinks are set to drop the second part of their 60-year celebration, The Journey – Part 2, on November 17, and they’ve just released a new track from it.

The rockers have shared a new Ray Davies mix of their 1974 song “Money Talks,” which Davies says is about “moral decline.” The original version appeared on the band’s 1974 concept album, Preservation Act 2.

“Always amused me when we did it live. An exceptional song I think,” Dave Davies says of the tune. Drummer Mick Avory adds, “I have memories of playing this song on the US tours in the 70s. It’s a good old stomper for the stage.”

You can listen to “Money Talks (2023 Mix)” now via digital outlets and watch the video on YouTube.

The follow up to the March release The Journey – Part 1, Part 2 features songs handpicked by members of the band and includes singles, B-sides and album tracks along with three previously unreleased live performances from a 1975 concert at the New Victoria Theatre in London.

The Journey – Part 2 is being released as a two-CD or two-LP set, which come with a booklet of band photos and track-by-track notes from the Davies brothers and Avory. There will also be digital and HD digital versions of the compilation. All formats are available for preorder now.

The founding lineup of Dream Theater is back together again.

Drummer Mike Portnoy, who formed the prog metal outfit alongside guitarist John Petrucci and bassist John Myung in 1985, is returning to the group after a 13-year absence.

“I am overwhelmed with joy to be returning home and reuniting with my brothers!” Portnoy says. “There is so much shared history between us all…so many memories, so much music…to think we’re coming up on 40 years since this journey began!”

“The idea of creating new music together is so exciting and I absolutely cannot wait to hit the road and get to play live for a whole new generation of fans that weren’t ever able to see this lineup before,” the drummer continues. “There’s no place like home!!”

Portnoy parted ways with Dream Theater in 2010. Mike Mangini, who’d been Dream Theater’s drummer since, is now departing from the group.

“Mike Mangini’s drumming is otherworldly and I’m extremely grateful for the time he spent with us in Dream Theater,” Petrucci says. “I’m very proud of all the amazing music we made together that culminated in our first Grammy win last year and the countless magical moments that we’ve shared on stage over the past 13 years. I wish him all the best of success in his future musical endeavors.”

With Portnoy back in the fold, Dream Theater is returning to the studio to record their 16th studio album.
