Cardi B and Madonna are friends again after the rapper took issue with comments the Queen of Pop made while marking the 30th anniversary of her coffee table book, Sex.

Cardi posted a series of now-deleted tweets criticizing Madonna for comments she made in an Instagram Story, noting, “30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X. In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone,” according to Billboard.

“Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked a** and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball,” she continued.

Cardi was particularly put off by the final line of Madonna’s post, which read, “You’re welcome b******,” followed by a clown emoji.

“[Madonna] can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth,” Cardi wrote, alongside a screenshot of a 2018 Billboard article in which she gushed about meeting “my real life IDOL Madonna,” who was “everything i thought she would be.”

“These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that’s why I keep to myself,” Cardi added Sunday.

However, later that day, Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee tweeted that he was “on the phone with Madonna and Cardi” and listening to the stars “share their perspective on the communication going on has broadened their love for each other.”

Cardi and Madonna tweeted similar sentiments later that day.

“I talked to Madonna …It was beautiful,” Cardi wrote, while Madonna shared “I love you @iamcardib!! Always have and always will.”

In a video posted to Hollywood Unlocked’s Instagram, Cardi added, “I’m glad I had a conversation with Madonna. You already know I’m a sensitive gangsta.”

Taylor Swift’s Midnights broke all kinds of streaming records less than 24 hours after its release on Friday.

On Spotify, the album became the most streamed album in a single day. Taylor also became the most streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history, breaking the record set by Bad Bunny earlier this year.

In response to the Spotify news, Taylor tweeted to her fans, “How did I get this lucky, having you guys out here doing something this mind blowing?! Like what even just happened??!?!”

Midnights also broke the record for the biggest pop album of all time on Apple Music by first-day streams. The song “Lavender Haze” debuted at number one on Apple Music Top 100: Global.

And on Amazon Music, Taylor had the most first day album streams globally of any artist, as well as the most Alexa requests ever.

Bow Wow responds to criticism of his music legacy: “The proof is in the pudding”
BET

Bow Wow is fully aware of the impression his career has had on hip-hop.

But for the fans who may not know of his contributions — by way of music, movies, hosting and more — his message is clear: “The proof is in the pudding.”

“For me to be 35 and headlining my own arena tour currently, packing them out, putting butts in the seats, I mean, it’s unreal,” the rapper told ABC Audio ahead of the premiere of his latest gig as host of the BET show After Happily Ever After.

“You know, I really don’t gotta pay attention to nothing. We won a Billboard Award for the Millennium Tour last year once they put me on it and we’re looking to go back to back again.”

With so many opportunities to juggle careerwise, Bow Wow said he doesn’t have much time to give to fans who might not recognize the decades’ worth of entertainment he’s put forth.

“The real GOATs never run around and parade that they’re the GOATs.” He added of his current Millennium: Turned Up Tour, “I don’t know nobody who has done two arena tours in one year and no new music and is packing out arenas. It’s unheard of.”

That alone, he said, confirms his musical legacy.

“I’m still one of the top, one of the rappers with the most #1 hits,” he said, adding, “You can just Wiki me, if you need to know.”

The new John Entwistle compilation Rarities Oxhumed – Volume One was released this past Friday.

The 13-track collection features previously unheard studio tracks, demos, live performances and other unreleased gems from the late Who bassist’s solo career.

The compilation was produced by Steve Luongo, drummer of Entwistle’s side project the John Entwistle Band and his main collaborator in the group.

Luongo tells ABC Audio that Entwistle’s “devoted” fans had long asked him if there was any unreleased material in the archives, and, with this year marking the 20th anniversary of John’s death, he felt the time was right to put together a rarities compilation.

Luongo says the studio tracks featured on Rarities Oxhumed include “songs that we either didn’t release on any of the albums or alternate versions of those songs that might have been released, but with different lyrics or a different arrangement.”

Most of the songs on the compilation are alternate versions or mixes of tunes that appeared on Entwistle’s final solo album, 2000’s Music for Van-Pires, which features material recorded for the soundtrack of a late-’90s animated kids show called Van-Pires.

Among those tracks is “Bogey Man,” which actually dates back to the 1970s, and features late Who legend Keith Moon on drums.

Luongo recalls that when Entwistle first played him an early, unfinished version of “Bogey Man,” he realized it would be perfect “for a scary kid show,” and when John told him that Moon was on the track, he convinced Entwistle to find the original multi-track so they could complete it while keeping Keith’s drum parts.

As for the live tracks on the comp, Luongo says they were recorded during the John Entwistle Band’s final trek, which was called 2001: A Bass Odyssey.

Here’s the compilation’s full track list:

“Bogey Man”
“Darker Side of Night”
“I’ll Try Again Today”
“When You See the Light”
“Back on the Road”
“Left for Dead” (Alternate Version)
“I Wouldn’t Sleep with You”
“Don’t Be a Sucker”
“Life Goes On” (Demo)
“Where Ya Going Now” (Demo)
“Trick of the Light” (Live)
“Under a Raging Moon” (Live)
“Shakin’ All Over” (Live)

Bebe Rexha flipped “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” into “I’m Good” — but what other songs would she like to redo?

What A DJ/What A Music/Warner Records

ebe Rexha‘s latest hit with David Guetta, “I’m Good (Blue),” is a reworking of the 1999 hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65. Reworking past hits seems to be a trend right now: We’ve got Elton and Britney‘s “Hold Me Closer,” a reworking of his songs “Tiny Dancer” and “The One;” Yung Gravy‘s “Betty (Get Money),” a reworking of Rick Astley‘s “Never Gonna Give You Up”; and Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Freaky Girl,” a reworking of Rick James‘ “Super Freak.” So if Bebe could rework any other classic hit, which would she choose?

“If I could redo a classic song and do it my way, and if there was no issues of clearances or anything, I’d probably do ‘Landslide‘ by Fleetwood Mac,” she tells ABC Audio. “Or I would do ‘Jolene‘ by Dolly Parton.”

“I’d probably do my own version of them … I wouldn’t want to take away from the original instrumentals, but I would maybe add a little bit more modern sounds to them,” Bebe explains. As for why she chose “Jolene,” a 1973 hit, Bebe says, “I just feel like it’s such an incredible record and just the storytelling.”

“I’m a very big fan of Dolly’s … she always spoke her mind,” Bebe adds. “I’m very inspired by her.”

As for “Landslide,” written in 1975 by Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, Bebe says, “I just love how it’s about changing and life and growing … I definitely can relate to that a lot right now in my life.”

Remember that time Luke Bryan dressed up as Buddy the Elf for Halloween? His wife sure does

Remember that time Luke Bryan dressed up as Buddy the Elf for Halloween? His wife sure does
ABC/Connie Chornuk

Luke Bryan has donned some crazy Halloween costumes over the years, and fortunately, his wife, Caroline, is here to document them all.

In case you’d forgotten the year the country superstar went as Buddy the Elf, Caroline posted a throwback shot of the costume on Friday, displaying Luke in all his Halloween glory: a curly wig, rosy blush on his cheeks and, of course, tight yellow leggings.

Caroline even included video of the night Luke wore the costume, showing him in an epic dance-off with a giant squirrel. “What a fun night!!” she wrote in the caption.

But that’s certainly not the only wacky Halloween costume the Bryans have dreamed up for Halloweens past. They’re also masters of the couple’s costume: One year, Luke dressed up as a giant nut, while Caroline was a squirrel. They wore gigantic ostrich costumes another year and even took slow motion video of their “ostrich race.”

But perhaps the cutest couple’s costume the Bryans ever wore was their matching Tweedledee and Tweedledum outfits, featuring Luke in an oversized bowtie and suspenders.

The country star couple have set the bar high in previous years, so keep an eye on their social channels to see what crazy outfits they dream up for 2022.

L.S. Dunes, the new band featuring My Chemical Romance‘s Frank Iero and Coheed and Cambria‘s Travis Stever, has released a new song called “Bombsquad.”

“The lyrics for ‘Bombsquad’ came from a poem that I wrote around the time of the January 6 insurrection,” says Circa Survive vocalist Anthony Green, who completes the L.S. Dunes lineup alongside bassist Tim Payne and drummer Tucker Rule of Thursday.

“In the midst of the pandemic, people were trying to take down the government because a ConMan politician couldn’t admit that he had lost the election, not for any legitimate grievance or protest,” Green continues. “The song is a rage against society’s depressing and destructive forces.”

You can listen to “Bombsquad” now via digital outlets. L.S. Dunes has also released a live video of the track, recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios in Hurley, New York.

“Bombsquad” will appear on the debut L.S. Dunes album Past Lives, due out November 11. The record also includes the previously released songs “Permanent Rebellion” and “2022.”

L.S. Dunes made their live debut last month at Riot Fest. They’ll launch a U.S. headlining tour in November.

What happens when a sharp-dressed Texas blues-rock legend joins forces with a sharp-dressed funk/R&B great? Music fans can find out by checking out “Too Much Girl 4 Me,” a new song featuring ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons collaborating with Morris Day of The Time.

The duet begins with a humorous dialogue between Gibbons and Day before kicking into a grooving tune that combines heavy rock and funk.

“Too Much Girl 4 Me” is available now via digital formats. The track will also appear on Day’s upcoming farewell solo album, Last Call, which will be released November 11 and can be preordered now.

Rolling Stone reports the collaboration came about after Day’s manager, Courtney Benson, introduced himself to Gibbons after running into him at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“Billy got up in the middle of the lounge and did my famous ‘Chili Sauce’ slide across the floor,” Day explained to Rolling Stone in an email. “And [Billy] said, ‘Morris and I have to do something together.'”

Morris then phoned Snoop Dogg and got permission to record at Snoop’s Dogg Pound studio with Gibbons.

Day said that he and Gibbons bonded over their shared love of music, while noting that they both like “doing things out of the box.”

“That’s what I love about the song ‘Too Much Girl 4 Me’: Billy’s production on this is not what you would expect him to do,” Morris said. “He managed to bridge his and my genre together to create this song. I was literally impressed working with him every day. He has a love for my music as well.”

He added, “I believe his favorite song of mine is ‘The Bird,’ and my favorite ZZ Top songs are ‘La Grange’ and, of course, ‘Sharp Dressed Man.'”

Very sad news to report regarding Carly Simon‘s family. The singer/songwriter’s two older sisters, Lucy and Joanna, both died this week, a source close to Carly confirmed to Deadline.

Lucy died Thursday of breast cancer at the age of 82, while Joanna passed away Wednesday of thyroid cancer at age 84.

Lucy and Carly formed the folk duo The Simon Sisters during the early 1960s and recorded three albums during that decade. Perhaps their best known song was an adaptation of the children’s poem “Winkin’, Blinkin’ and Nod,” which reached #73 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lucy released a couple of solo albums during the 1970s; in the early ’80s, she and her husband, David Levine, produced two Grammy-winning children’s albums — 1980’s In Harmony: A Sesame Street Record and 1981’s In Harmony 2.

Lucy’s biggest musical success was serving as composer for the 1991 Broadway musical The Secret Garden, which scored a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score.

She also wrote and produced music for the 1993 HBO film The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom.

In addition, Lucy composed music for a stage adaptation of Doctor Zhivago, which had a short Broadway run in 2015.

Joanna Simon had a long career as an opera singer, performing and recording with many orchestras over the years, including the New York Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

From 1986 to 1992, she served as the arts correspondent for the PBS program The MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour and won an Emmy Award for her reporting in 1991.

After the 2004 death of her husband, writer Gerald Walker, she was legendary news anchor Walter Cronkite‘s companion from 2005 until his death in 2009.
