The long anticipated final song from The Beatles is finally here.

The track, “Now and Then,” features vocals John Lennon recorded on a demo in the late ’70s. In 1994, his wife, Yoko Ono, gave the three-song demo to surviving Beatles Paul McCartneyRingo Starr and George Harrison. They then used it to create “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love,” which appeared on The Beatles Anthology project in the mid ’90s.

Unfortunately, at that time, technology wasn’t good enough to extract Lennon’s vocals from “Now and Then,” but in 2021, Peter Jackson, director of The Beatles: Get Back docuseries, developed new technology to isolate Lennon’s instruments and vocals. Paul and Ringo completed the song in 2022, using guitar parts Harrison recorded in 1995.

You can listen to “Now and Then” now via digital services and on YouTube. The official video for the song is set to drop Friday, November 3, at 10 a.m.

The final track is being released as a double-A side single paired with “Love Me Do,” the band’s 1962 debut single. It is available for preorder now.

Missy Elliott is opening up as she prepares to make history as the first female rapper to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The four-time Grammy Award winner sat down with Robin Roberts in an interview that aired Thursday on Good Morning America, reflecting on her life journey as she gears up for the huge milestone of her career.

Also known as Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott, the hip-hop star explained the origin of the moniker which she said was given by Magoo of Timbaland & Magoo. “He named me that,” she shared. “He said, ‘It was a crime to have as many talents as I had.'”

Growing up, the “Work It” songstress said she always dreamed of being a “superstar,” adding, “I never wavered. I never changed. I said it every time.”

Looking back through her decades of experience working in the industry, Elliott, 52, said “words cannot describe” how honored she feels to have been selected an inductee of the most prestigious hall in music. She told Roberts, as an artist from the “hip-hop world,” such a goal “seemed so far out of reach.”

During the upcoming ceremony, which streams on Disney+ Friday, November 3, the hip-hop superstar will be introduced by Queen Latifah — a pioneering female rapper Elliott is thankful for.

“I owe so many flowers, bouquets. It’s not enough bouquets for those women that came before me. And she’s one of those women,” she said.

Also in attendance for the special event will be Elliott’s mother whom she claims never witnessed her perform live.

Elsewhere in her chat with Roberts, Elliott said she’d offer this advice to her younger self: “‘There is a bright future for you, and keep goin.'”

Reba loves the camaraderie present between ‘The Voice’ coaches

Reba McEntire may be the newest coach on The Voice, but this ain’t her first rodeo.

She’s starred in multiple movies and television shows, including her beloved namesake sitcom, Reba. In fact, for the “Fancy” singer, the friendship she has with fellow coaches Gwen StefaniNiall Horan and John Legend reminds her of her time with her Reba cast members.

“We have our coaches meeting before we go in to start the TV show and it reminds me so much of the Reba show,” Reba shares. “We’ll all be visiting and telling stories about, ‘Oh, did you see Beyoncé‘s show? Oh, my gosh. What? Did you see the horse and all that?’ And then the producers, Audrey and Kyra, will be there like, ‘We got to get going.'”

“That camaraderie, I think, is what I love so much,” she says.

The real-life friendship the coaches share extends to their onscreen time where they banter, challenge and sometimes ridicule each other in good fun.

“We’ll be jokingly cruel [sometimes] with each other, but it is for fun and entertainment and nobody takes it seriously,” says Reba. “Any jabs that we do is so funny. Niall will say, ‘Gweny, I’m not afraid of you! Yes, I am,’ and just silly, funny things. Everybody’s got a great sense of humor and we use it.”

The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

Reba’s new lifestyle book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots, and its companion album, Not That Fancy, are out now.

Dirty Honey finds big riffs & “studio magic” on sophomore album, ’Can’t Find the Brakes’

Dirty Honey finds big riffs & “studio magic” on sophomore album, ’Can’t Find the Brakes’
Dirty Hit

Dirty Honey Can’t Find the Brakes on their new album, but they did find a whole lotta riffs.

Take lead single “Won’t Take Me Alive,” which is based around a lick created by guitarist John Notto.

“I’m not scared of saying I think it’s one of the best riffs I’ve heard in the last decade in rock music,” frontman Marc LaBelle tells ABC Audio.

While “Won’t Take Me Alive” follows in the tradition of past Dirty Honey tunes like “When I’m Gone,” “Rolling 7s” and “California Dreamin’,” Can’t Find the Brakes has its fair share of experimentation, fostered by an in-person recording environment that the band didn’t have on their 2021 self-titled debut. That resulted in a few moments of what Notto calls “studio magic,” such as the outro to the closing track “Rebel Son,” which was a last-minute, spur-of-the-moment addition.

Notto recalls there being a suggestion to rerecord and “perfect” the jam, but he and his bandmates wanted to keep its “raw spirit.”

“That’s certainly a first for us, to have something like that on a record, any record,” he says.

Can’t Find the Brakes marks Dirty Honey’s second album with producer Nick DiDia, and the group felt more confident to advocate for their ideas amid disagreements. For example, LaBelle was adamant about keeping a particular vocal intro in the opening track, “Don’t Put Out the Fire.”

“You have to keep asking yourself, ‘Do I really believe in this?,’ when you’re fighting for it,” Notto says.

He laughs, “And then you have to tell this older man who’s made, like, I don’t know, 20 massive records that he’s wrong.”

Can’t Find the Brakes drops Friday, November 3.
