Jessica Simpson is celebrating six years of sobriety this month.

The singer took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to reshare a post she made on November 1, 2021, detailing her sobriety journey.

“6 years ago,” Jessica wrote on her Story.

The post Jessica linked to honored four years of her sobriety. Its lengthy caption celebrated the journey that began on November 1, 2017.

“I had so much self discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity,” Jessica wrote. “To do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted.”

Jessica also wrote that drinking wasn’t the only issue.

“I was,” she penned. “I didn’t love myself. I didn’t respect my own power.”

In addition to reposting the photo on her Story, Jessica shared a new photo with her daughter Maxi Drew to her feed.

“Choose to be kind today because you never know how much someone might need it,” Jessica wrote in the caption.

Adele is being honored with an award at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment gala next month.

The singer will receive the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, which spotlights trailblazers and philanthropists in entertainment and media. The award is named after the former CEO of Paramount Pictures, the first woman to head a Hollywood studio.

“Adele is a singular talent who has captivated the world with her incredible music,” Lansing tells THR in a  statement. “Beyond that, she paved the way for female artists to embrace their authentic selves and define their own voices and careers at a critical moment for women in music, empowering countless other female artists to do the same. I could not be more thrilled that Adele is receiving the award that bears my name.”

THR co-editors-in-chief Nekesa Mumbi Moody and Maer Roshan also say they are thrilled that Adele is this year’s recipient, calling her “a brilliant songwriter, a stunning vocalist, a top-notch performer and an artist whose talents have no limit.”

The Women in Entertainment breakfast gala will take place December 7 in Los Angeles.

Rage Against the Machine fan Olivia Rodrigo will be performing with Sheryl Crow during Rock Hall induction

Though she’s shared her love for Rage Against the Machine, Olivia Rodrigo will be performing with a different Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee during this year’s ceremony.

During an interview on The Tonight Show, Sheryl Crow revealed that she will be joined onstage by the “vampire” star.

Initially, the Rock Hall had said only that Rodrigo “will perform with one of her heroes” during the induction festivities. Given that Rodrigo previously said Rage was her “favorite band right now” and that she was going to “going to cry myself to sleep” because she was missing the ceremony due to a presumably now-resolved scheduling conflict, some theorized she might be performing in honor of the “Killing in the Name” outfit.

While an Olivia/Rage performance certainly would be interesting, the prospect didn’t sit well with everyone. Some of the comments on the Rock Hall’s announcement include “I really hope she doesn’t sing rage please don’t” and “Don’t ruin RATM – thanks.”

The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place Friday, November 3, in Brooklyn, New York, and will stream live on Disney+. The inductees include Rage, Crow, Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson and The Spinners.

Gun N’ Roses brought their tour to LA’s Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, November 2, and treated the crowd to something special.

In addition to their usual hits, like “Paradise City,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “November Rain” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” the rockers surprised the crowd with the live debut of the new song, “The General,” which, according to setlist.fm, they played after the previously released “Perhaps.”

Fan-shot footage of the performance can be found on YouTube.

“Perhaps” and “The General” are Guns N’ Roses’ first new songs since the 2021 release of “Hard Skool” and “Absurd,” which were reworkings of old demos.

“The General” is actually the B-side of a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl of “Perhaps.” It was supposed to be released on October 27 but is now set to ship on December 8. It is available for preorder now.

Guns N’ Roses played two nights at the Hollywood Bowl to wrap the U.S. leg of their tour. They have one more show on the schedule for 2023: a headlining set at the Hell and Heaven festival in Toluca, Mexico.

Civil lawsuit over Marilyn Manson spitting incident revived

Civil lawsuit over Marilyn Manson spitting incident revived

A civil lawsuit against Marilyn Manson over the New Hampshire spitting incident has been revived, according to Rolling Stone.

As previously reported, Manson, born Brian Warner, was accused of spitting and blowing his nose on a videographer filming him from the pit during a 2019 concert at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford. In addition to facing criminal charges, which resulted in Warner pleading no contest to one count of simple assault, accuser Susan Fountain filed a civil lawsuit against the shock rocker.

As Rolling Stone reports, Fountain’s civil lawsuit was dismissed in February when her lawyer missed the trial date; the attorney later claimed he forgot to mark down the court appearance in her calendar amid dealing with a medical issue. The mistake was corrected in time to file an appeal of the dismissal, which a judge granted in a hearing on Thursday, November 3.

New Hampshire police issued an arrest warrant for Warner in 2021 over the allegations, which a lawyer for the musician told Pitchfork were “ludicrous.” After initially pleading not guilty, Warner entered a no contest plea and was sentenced to a fine and community service.

During the September sentencing hearing, a victim-impact statement was read on Fountain’s behalf, which said, “I’ve never been humiliated or treated the way I was by this defendant.”

Sheryl Crow is ready to drop some new music. The singer just announced she’ll release a new album titled Evolution on March 29.

The album features nine new songs, including the just-released first single, “Alarm Clock,” which Crow co-wrote with the album’s producer Mike Elizondo and Emily Weisband.

You can listen to “Alarm Clock” now via digital outlets and watch the lyric video on YouTube.

Evolution is a bit of a surprise for fans, since Crow previously said she had no intention of releasing any more albums after 2018’s Threads.

“This music and these lyrics came from sitting in the quiet and writing from a deep soul place. I said I’d never make another record, thought there was no point to it,” she says. “But this music comes from my soul. And I hope whoever hears this record can feel that.”

The album news comes as Crow is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Friday, November 3, at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Sheryl is set to perform during the induction ceremony and confirmed during an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that she’ll be joined by Olivia Rodrigo.

Sheryl Crow’s Evolution is available for preorder now.

Queen Production Ltd.

Queen is giving fans a look at another classic performance in this week’s episode of their YouTube series, Queen the Greatest Live

The band shares footage of their performance of the Sheer Heart Attack track “Stone Cold Crazy” at the Rainbow Theatre in London in November 1974. It was the first time the band headlined the famed 3,000-seat venue and the first time their live performance was professionally filmed.

“When I see the footage of us from those shows now, I see so much confidence and adrenaline,” guitarist Brian May said in a 2014 interview with Mojo. “And I think, ‘My God, we were such impatient boys.’”

This was the second time Queen played the Rainbow Theatre, having previously opened for Mott the Hoople; the show’s deemed the moment they proved they had what it takes to be headliners.

Next week on Queen The Greatest Live: “Encores.”
