Kenny Chesney has dropped his new single, “Take Her Home.”

The track was penned by HARDYHunter Phelps and Zach Abend, and it’s one that resonated with Kenny as soon as he heard it.

“Take her home, fall in love/ Thank the good Lord up above/ That He sent one down into your arms/ And put a chain around your raised-hell heart/ You try to play it cool walkin’ through the door/ But you’re smilin’ like a fool ’cause you can’t wait for/ Them down-thе-road memories you’re bound to makе/ And you will one day take her home,” Kenny sings in the chorus.

“When I heard ‘Take Her Home,’ I just laughed,” Kenny says. “It was everything life is made of in less than four minutes. It’s true, honest and all the stuff that’s easy to forget.”

“It’s amazing how simple figuring life out can be. I look around, and I see people in every state of this song every day,” he continues. “It’s part of the miracle of being alive. Even when it’s not happening to you, it’s happening to someone you love – whether your friend, a brother or sister, co-worker – and that feeling comes right back.”

“I can’t wait to hear people singing this one back to us, because it’s going to be one of those moments. I just know,” Kenny adds.

“Take Her Home” is the first preview of Kenny’s next collection of music. His latest album is 2020’s Here And Now.

teaming up with his pal Ed Sheeran for a new version of it.

Passenger’s song “Let Her Go,” from his 2012 album All the Little Lights, hit #1 in 19 countries and has racked up over six billion streams.  Now, he’s released All the Little Lights (Anniversary Edition), a completely rerecorded and reimagined version of the original album with various guest artists, including Ed joining him for a duet on “Let Her Go.”

In a statement, Passenger says, “A massive part of the song’s success is down to Ed Sheeran. If he hadn’t have taken me around the world as his opening act in the year leading up to the song blowing up, then it simply wouldn’t have happened.”

“I owe him an awful lot … he’s a constant inspiration and a fierce friend. So, when it came to rerecording this song, there was only ever going to be one person that I’d want to duet on it.”

On Instagram, Ed writes, “I remember touring with @passengermusic in 2011 and having him play me Let Her Go … before we went on stage. I knew then how special it was, but couldn’t have guessed how insanely massive it would be.”

He adds, “It’s an honor to sing the re-recorded version of the song with Mike 10 years on, such a long lasting friendship that’s gone from empty pubs for both of us together to where we are now.”

Passenger adds, “I’m grateful to ‘Let Her Go’ beyond words. Not just for its success, but for the opportunity to reach people all over the world, just for four minutes, and make some kind of small difference. What an amazing thing.”

New Music Friday: Jonas Brothers, Dove Cameron and more

Jonas Brothers have joined forces with country star Bailey Zimmerman on their new single, “Strong Enough.” The brothers alternate verses as Bailey harmonizes alongside them to the breezy, acoustic song. “We’re so excited to team up with Bailey for ‘Strong Enough’! He’s such a talented artist who’s had an amazing year, so it’s been a blast collaborating with him,” Jonas Brothers said in a statement.

The Chainsmokers have teamed up with Powfu for a new single called “fault in the stars.” Powfu, best known for his hit “Deathbed (Coffee for Your Head),” still uses his signature lo-fi sound on the track, with more of an upbeat twist this time around.

The second single off Dove Cameron‘s debut album, Alchemical: Volume 1, has arrived. “Sand” is a vulnerable ballad with lyrics that capture a yearning for connection. “But you have more pieces of me than the desert has sand/and I have less pieces of you than I can hold in my hand,” Dove sings on the chorus.

David Guetta and Kim Petras have come together on a futuristic banger. “When We Were Young (The Logical Song)” incorporates hyperpop and classic ’90s piano for a new track crafted around a pitched-up interpolation of the classic Supertramp hit, “The Logical Song.”

Finally, Lauv has embraced AI technology with “Love U Like That (Korean Version).” Cutting-edge artificial intelligence voice modeling technology was used to put a filter over Korean vocalist Kevin Woo‘s performance to make it sound like Lauv’s voice. “I’m so lucky to have the fans around the world that I do and I’m excited to be able to sing directly to them in this new, innovative way,” Lauv said in a statement.

After Rush‘s final tour in 2015 and virtuoso drummer Neil Peart‘s death in 2020, singer/bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson thought their Rush days were over. But Dave Grohl and Paul McCartney evidently changed their minds.

Speaking to the Washington Post, Lee says when he and Lifeson took part in the 2022 Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts at Grohl’s request, they weren’t sure who’d be able to play drums with them. They ended up playing three songs with drummers ranging from Grohl and Red Hot Chili PeppersChad Smith, to Tool‘s Danny Carey. At the after-party, McCartney encouraged them to tour again, and Lee says they’re considering it.

“It had been a taboo subject, and playing those songs again with a third person was the elephant in the room, and that kind of disappeared,” Lee explains. “It was nice to know that if we decide to go out, Alex and I, whether we went out as part of a new thing, or whether we just wanted to go out and play Rush as Rush, we could do that now.”

What’s more, the Post reports, in October of 2022, Lee and Lifeson got together in Lee’s home studio and jammed for the first time in years. However, Lifeson currently haas health issues that are keeping him from jumping in feet first.

“He needs to feel good and feel healthy and strong,” Lee says of Lifeson. “And then maybe we have a discussion.”

Meanwhile, Lee’s memoir, My Effin’ Life, is out on November 14. The day before in New York City, he’ll launch a spoken-word tour, during which he’ll read from the book and answer fans’ questions. A complete list of dates can be found at rush.com.

Gabby Barrett has released “Growin’ Up Raising You,” the newest preview of her forthcoming album, Chapter & Verse, arriving February 2.

Written with Jon NiteZach Kale and Jimmy Robbins, the autobiographical ballad chronicles Gabby’s candid reflection on being a 23-year-old mother.

“We’ll get it wrong, we’ll get it right/ Whole lotta tears we’ll both have to cry/ You’ll learn to run, I’ll learn to let go/ Years will go fast, nights will go slow/ Lord knows the best thing that I’ll ever do/ Will be growin’ up raising you,” Gabby sings.

“‘Growin’ Up Raising You’ is a very sensitive song for me,” she shares. “I’m only 23 – I don’t have all the answers to everything, and I haven’t gotten everything figured out. I’m doing the best that I can while trying to raise other people to be the best people they can be.”

“I feel so blessed to be able to have three little lives that I can help to flourish while I’m also trying to figure out life myself,” Gabby adds.

In addition to the newly released track, Chapter & Verse will feature its lead single, “Glory Days,” and “Cowboy Back.”

More details on Chapter & Verse, including a full track list, will be announced soon.

Keke Palmer seeking restraining order against ex Darius Jackson, claiming physical, emotional abuse

Nope star Keke Palmer has filed legal documents with Los Angeles’ Superior Court to obtain a restraining order against Darius Jackson, the father of their 8-month-old son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson.

According to the paperwork obtained by ABC News, Keke claims she endured “many instances of physical violence” at the hands of her 29-year-old former boyfriend; she accuses him of “hitting [her] in front of [their] son,” “spewing profanities about [her] to [their] son” and “threatening to kill himself with a gun if [she] left him.”

The documents also allege harassment and “other physical and emotional abuse” by Jackson, and accuse him of destroying Keke’s personal property.

Palmer also provided security footage from earlier this month of an incident on November 5; the couple broke up in October after two years together. “Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me – lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police,” Keke documented.

The documents also show Palmer is seeking sole custody of and protection for their son.

Keke’s relationship made headlines back in July when Jackson used social media to shame an outfit she wore to an Usher concert in Las Vegas. “It’s the outfit tho..you a mom,” he said in a now-deleted post.

He faced backlash for the comment, but doubled down, citing his “standards.”

The order, perhaps not coincidentally, also asks “that Darius be specifically restrained from harassing me by publicly commenting about me, my family, and/or our son online.”

Jackson has not yet responded to the claims.

Kelly Clarkson says Taylor Swift sends her flowers after each rerecorded album

Weiss Eubanks/NBCUniversal

Back in 2019, Kelly Clarkson tweeted that Taylor Swift should rerecord her masters — and as we know, Taylor took that idea and ran with it.

Kelly tells E! News that Taylor literally gives her her flowers every time a new “Taylor’s Version” album is rereleased.

“You know what’s so funny? She just sent me flowers,” Kelly says. “She’s so nice. She did. She was like, ‘Every time I release something’—’cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too.”

While Kelly is grateful for the sweet gesture, she says she’s sure Taylor didn’t need her suggestion.

“She’s a very smart businesswoman,” Kelly says. “So, she would have thought of that. But it just sucks when you see artists that you admire and you respect really wanting something and it’s special to them. You know if they’re going to find a loophole, you find a loophole. And she did it and literally is, like, the best-selling artist I feel like of all-time now.”

Queen re-releases ‘The Works’ cut “Machines (Or Back To Humans)”

Hollywood Records

After using it as the opening of their current Rhapsody tour with Adam Lambert, Queen has re-released their song “Machines (Or Back To Humans)” from their 1984 album, The Works.

On the Rhapsody tour, the song helps set the stage for the show’s theme. Fans hear “Machines” — which features Roger Taylor‘s electronically treated vocals — as robotic imagery and menacing CGI robots are shown marching across giant video screens. Freddie Mercury and Brian May are then heard singing, “It’s a machine’s world — don’t tell me I ain’t got no soul.”

“Basically, it starts off where everything is electronic – electronic drums, everything. And what you have is the ‘human’ rock band sort of crashing in. What you wind up with is a battle between the two,” Taylor explains.

It’s all a lead-in to the concert’s opening number, “Radio Ga Ga.” “Machines” and “Radio Ga Ga” originally started as one song before they diverged, May explains in a statement.

The re-release comes during a time when questions about how far A.I. can go are top of mind.

“In these days of Artificial Intelligence beginning to invade our whole lives, these mechanical guys personify Robotic Insurgence,” Brian May says. “‘Back to Humans’ is the sound track to us as humans reclaiming our control.”

“Putting the new show together, it hit me that ‘Machines’ was more relevant than ever,” he adds. “So the idea came about of theming the show with a 21st century version of this battle and, incidentally, bringing ‘Ga Ga’ and ‘Machines’ fittingly back together once again.”

The band has also added “Back To Humans” merch to its online store to go along with the re-release.
