Dan Fogelberg’s sophomore album, Souvenirs, is getting a special 50th anniversary rerelease.

A digitally remastered version of the record will be released April 4, featuring four bonus tracks made up of early versions and demos, as well as one never-before-heard song, “I Know a Thief.”

There will also be a limited-edition 180-gram audiophile vinyl, released on May 30, which includes a 16-page booklet featuring some never-before-seen photos taken by famed photographer Henry Diltz. There are also  interviews from those who knew Fogelberg, including America’s Gerry Buckley, and friend and manager Irving Azoff.

Souvenirs was such an important album for Dan, and it holds a special place in the hearts of his fans,” Azoff shares. “We wanted to create a 50th anniversary edition that truly honors the album’s legacy and provides fans with both a unique and collectible experience.”

Released in October 1974, Souvenirs, produced by Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, featured Fogelberg’s breakthrough song “Part of the Plan,” which was a top-40 hit. The album peaked at #17 on the Billboard chart and went on to be certified double Platinum.

The late Joe Cocker has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, and Beatle legend Paul McCartney is doing what he can to see that he gets in.

McCartney, a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer himself, has released a letter backing Cocker for induction.

“Joe was a great man and a fine singer whose unique style made for some fantastic performances,” McCartney writes in the letter addressed to “Dear Rock and Rollers.” “He sang one of our songs ‘With a Little Help from My Friends,’ a version produced by Denny Cordell, which was very imaginative.”

“And whilst he may not have ever lobbied to be in the Hall of Fame, I know he would be extremely happy and grateful to find himself where he deserves to be amongst such illustrious company,” McCartney added.

Cocker, who passed away in 2014, has been eligible for the Rock Hall since 1989, and this is his first ever nomination.

In addition to his cover of The Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends,” which was used as the theme for the series The Wonder Years, Cocker is known for his cover of “You Are So Beautiful to Me,” written by Billy Preston, and “Feelin’ Alright,” written by Dave Mason. He also sang on the #1 hit “Up Where We Belong,” with Jennifer Warnes. The tune, from the movie An Officer and a Gentleman, won a Grammy, Academy Award and a Golden Globe.

Fan voting for the Hall of Fame is open now and inductees will be announced in April. The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction is set to take place in Los Angeles this fall, although an exact date has yet to be announced.

Daryl Hall calls current musical partnership ‘more meaningful’ than the one he had with John Oates

Daryl Hall & John Oates‘ relationship seems irretrievably broken, after a business dispute led to Hall suing Oates in 2023 and accusing him of “betrayal.”  To add insult to injury, Hall tells the U.K. paper The Times that he’s now involved in a “more meaningful” musical relationship than the one he had for decades with Oates.

Hall’s current solo album, D, was made with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, who co-produced the album and co-wrote most of the tracks. Asked about his relationship with Stewart in comparison to Oates, Hall says, “It’s more meaningful, a real collaborative relationship — and it’s based on maturity.”

In the interview, Hall also says it “was very frustrating” that people don’t realize how much of Hall & Oates’ music came from him alone.

“The songs with [John’s] lead vocal are the songs he wrote, and all the other ones, which is about 90 per cent, are the ones I wrote,” he says. When The Times offers that perhaps their musical partnership was similar to that of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s in Wham!, Hall agrees: “It’s closer to something like that.”

Hall also doesn’t think that he and Oates might resume working together. Asked by The Times if “that ship has sailed,” Hall says, “That ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean. I’ve had a lot of surprises in my life, disappointments, betrayals, so I’m kind of used to it.”

Keith Richards is set to be honored by the state of Connecticut.

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced that The Rolling Stones guitarist will be honored as the first recipient of the Connecticut Governor’s Award of Excellence; he is being recognized for his “deep commitment to supporting the local community.”

The award is described as “a prestigious new honor celebrating Connecticut residents who epitomize the state’s core values of creativity, resourcefulness, passion, dynamism, and generosity.”

“Connecticut has long been home to some of the world’s most innovative minds, boldest artists, and most generous hearts,” Lamont said. “This award was created to honor those whose creativity, resourcefulness, and passion have made a lasting impact on our state and beyond.”

He adds, “Keith Richards is the epitome of these values — not only as one of the most influential musicians of all time but as a dedicated supporter of the arts, education, and community causes right here in Connecticut.”

Richards, a Connecticut resident since 1985, will be presented with his honor, which comes with a custom medallion and a key to the state, on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET at The Westport Library.

“When you are growing up there are two institutional places that affect you most powerfully: the church, which belongs to God, and the public library, which belongs to you,” Richards said. “The public library is the great equalizer.”

Lenny Kravitz is featured in a new campaign for YSL Beauty’s fragrance Y Le Parfum.

Lenny is seen in the clip walking onstage, shirtless of course, then it cuts to a snake slithering near his neck, before he straps on a guitar and takes the stage in front of a group of fans.

“Your path to success begins when you embrace your why,” Lenny says in the clip. “When you master your passion and dare to show why.”

The brand teases the scent in an Instagram post by asking, “What happens when fresh midnight pine accord meets sensual fir balsam?”

This isn’t the first time Lenny has appeared in a campaign for YSL Beauty. In fact, he’s been the global ambassador for its fragrance since 2020.
