The recent documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin focused on the band’s career up until the release of their second album, 1969’s Led Zeppelin II, and it sounds like fans shouldn’t hold out hope for a second part focused on the rest of their career.

In an interview with Rolling Stone about his upcoming new album, Saving Grace, Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant revealed that he doesn’t think a second part is necessary.

“I think the fact that it ended before we needed to take a shave in the morning was probably the most appropriate,” he told the magazine. “I think that kind of shook up the joyous instance of everything, and then we had to go out and buy a razor, and that was it.”

And Plant doesn’t have any plans to delve into his personal life either, telling the mag there’s “not a chance” he’ll write a memoir.

“I’m going down with the ship, and so is my memory,” he said.

While artists like Queen and Elton John have had successful biopics made about their life and career, Plant isn’t interested in having one made about Led Zeppelin.

“No chance,” he said when asked if he’d ever agree to it. “I’m back on the ship, and I’m going down with it.”

Saving Grace, Plant’s first album with the acoustic band of the same name, featuring vocalist Suzi Dian, is due out Sept. 26.

The artwork of Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart will be the subject of a new exhibit in San Francisco.

Mickey Hart: Art at the Edge of Magic will open at the Haight Street Art Center on July 24. An opening ceremony is set for July 31, the night before Dead & Company’s three-night stand in Golden Gate Park celebrating 60 years of the Grateful Dead.

The exhibit, Hart’s first in a San Francisco-based museum, will feature close to 100 paintings and prints on a variety of surfaces, including canvas, paper, metal drumheads and cymbals. The exhibit includes two large paintings mounted into walls like picture windows, as well as a musical audio experience to complement the installation.

“We could not be more excited to showcase the work of Mickey Hart,” said Kelly Harris, executive director of the Haight Street Art Center. “We have always gravitated to art that transforms and transports viewers. Hart’s entire musical career has been devoted to doing just that, while his art of the past several decades has expanded this ethos into the visual realm.”

Art at the Edge of Magic runs through Sept. 21. More info can be found at HaightStreetArt.org.

David Byrne has shared another track from his upcoming solo album, Who is the Sky?, which is his first album since 2018’s American Utopia.

The latest is “She Explains Things to Me,” described as partially inspired by Rebecca Solnit’s 2014 collection of essays, Men Explain Things to Me.

“Many times I have marveled at how a friend (usually a female friend) seems to clock what is going on in a film between characters way before I do,” says Byrne. “Sometimes I understand poetry, but sometimes I need help. Though inspired by the Solnit book Men Explain Things to Me, there is a huge difference – mansplaining is usually unasked for, in this case I am the one asking.”

“She Explains Things to Me” is available now via digital outlets.

Who is the Sky? will be released Sept. 5 and is available for preorder now. The album features special guests St. Vincent, Paramore’s Hayley Williams and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner.

Byrne will kick off a new North American tour in support of the album on Sept. 14 in Providence, Rhode Island. He’ll wrap up the tour in Miami Dec. 5 and 6. He recently added some new shows to the trek, including a third show in Philadelphia, a fourth in Chicago and a third in San Francisco. A complete list of dates can be found at DavidByrne.com.

The directors of Billy Joel: And So It Goes recently opened up about the making of the new HBO documentary and provided an update on the legendary singer’s health.

Joel, who has been diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus, a brain disorder that affects his vision, hearing and balance, is currently undergoing physical therapy to regain his health and return to performing.

“He’s doing physical therapy, he’s healing, he’s working on getting better,” said Susan Lacy, one of the doc’s two directors, during an interview with Good Morning America that aired on Wednesday.

This update follows the cancellation of several of Joel’s shows due to his diagnosis, leaving fans concerned about his health and future performances.

The documentary offers a rare and intimate look into Joel’s life, exploring both the highs and lows of his personal and professional journey.

From childhood struggles to the iconic songs that have defined his career, the film delves deep into not only Joel’s musical genius but also the challenges he faced behind the scenes.

Billy Joel: And So It Goes is not only a celebration of his music but also a reflection on his tumultuous childhood, including the absence of his father and the joy he found in music, despite early challenges.

“His mother knew that Billy had a gift, and she made sure he had those piano lessons,” Jessica Levin, the documentary’s other co-director, told GMA.

Levin also reflected on the personal approach she and Lacy took to tell Joel’s story.

“Billy trusted two women to tell his story and we’re quite proud of that,” she said. “And I think we were able to really reveal a side of him that another set of filmmakers may or may not have been able to.”

Billy Joel: And So It Goes will premiere in two parts on HBO on July 18 and July 25.

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has been touring with the acoustic band Saving Grace for several years, and now he’s ready to put out his first album with them.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is set to release Saving Grace on Sept. 26, which has him backed by drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, bango and string player Matt Worley and cellist Barney Morse Brown, and joined by vocalist Suzi Dian.

“We laugh a lot, really. I think that suits me. I like laughing,” Plant says of working with Saving Grace. “These are sweet people and they are playing out all the stuff that they could never get out before. They have become unique stylists and together they seem to have landed in a most interesting place.”

The album, which Plant describes as “a song book of the lost and found,” was recorded between April 2019 and January 2025. It has them covering songs by Memphis Minnie, Bob Mosley of Moby Grape, Blind Willie Johnson and more.

The first track released from the record is a reimagined version of “Everybody’s Song,” originally recorded by the indie rock band Low. It is now available via digital outlets.

Saving Grace is available for preorder now.

While Plant has been touring with Saving Grace since 2019, they’re now set to bring their show to the U.S. for the very first time. They’ve just announced a fall tour set to kick off Oct. 30 in Wheeling, West Virginia, wrapping Nov. 22 in Los Angeles. A complete list of dates can be found at RobertPlant.com.

Looks like Sammy Hagar may be returning to Las Vegas.

The rocker teased fans with the possibility of more residency dates in a birthday post to guitarist and Best of All Worlds bandmate Joe Satriani.

“Happy birthday my brother, looks like you’re celebrating hard already!” he wrote on Instagram. “Just remember Smoke, you can have your cake and eat it too! just gotta know the trick P.”

Hagar ended the post by adding, “can’t wait for the next residency announcement sssshhhhh.”

While Hagar doesn’t mention where the residency will be, it’s possible he could be referring to additional dates of his Best of All Worlds residency at Vegas’ Dolby Live at Park MGM. The initial residency took place in April and May, with Hagar backed by Satriani, Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Kenny Aronoff.

Actor Stephen Graham, who just scored Emmy nominations for acting in and co-creating the Netflix series Adolescence, plays Bruce Springsteen’s father in the upcoming film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. And apparently he and the rocker have developed a relationship because of it.

“This sounds weird, but it’s not weird, it’s just what it is,” he tells Deadline. “I’ve got a really lovely new friend, and his name just happens to be Bruce, and he’s really lovely and he’s one of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met.”

And that friendship evidently includes hanging out together.

“I took him to the park, and we had a little look of the sculptures, and then I put him back in his fancy car and off he drove,” he says. “We went for a nice little bit of lunch and stuff like, yeah, he’s a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful man.”

Springsteen, for his part, has had nothing but great things to say about Graham, telling Rolling Stone in a recent interview that he’s “out of this world” in the film.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which stars Jeremy Allen White as The Boss and Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau, follows the rocker’s efforts to make his 1982 solo album Nebraska.

The film hits theaters Oct. 24.

After several delays, Genesis has finally announced the release date for the much anticipated 50th anniversary box set of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.

The band originally announced the box set in November 2024 for a planned March 2025 release. It was then delayed until June, and now they’ve announced it will be coming out Sept. 26.

Genesis announced the news on Instagram next to a photo of band members Peter Gabriel and Tony Banks at Gabriel’s Real World Studios, where they oversaw the Dolby Atmos mix of the album.

“It was an interesting experience to be back again inside the world we built 50 years ago for The Lamb,” Gabriel said. “[I]t was good to be back in the mixing chairs with Tony. It brought back many good memories of being in a band.”

Banks added, “Great to have a chance to work with my old friend on something from our youth, and relive some of the moments we had when recording these pieces. Still sound fresh to me!”

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition, created with input from the band’s members — Banks, Gabriel, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford — will include the remastered album, done at Abbey Road Studios; a Blu-ray with the Dolby Atmos mixes; never-before-released demos; and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Live at the Shrine Auditorium, recorded Jan. 24, 1975.

It is available for preorder now.

Released Nov. 22, 1974, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was a concept album based on an idea by Gabriel, about a Puerto Rican youth named Rael who goes on a journey of self-discovery. During the tour for the album, Gabriel announced to the band he was leaving Genesis once the tour was over.
