As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of their album Physical Graffiti, Led Zeppelin is releasing a new live EP, titled Live E.P., and now they’ve shared another preview.

The band just dropped a video for “In My Time of Dying,” featuring archival footage of their performance at London’s Earls Court in May 1975. The band previously shared a performance of “Trampled Underfoot,” also from Earls Court.

Live E.P. includes four live Led Zeppelin performances. In addition to the two Earls Court songs, there’s also “Sick Again” and “Kashmir,” both recorded at the Knebworth Festival in England in 1979.

In addition to the EP, the 50th anniversary of Physical Graffiti will be marked with the release of an update of 2015’s three-LP Physical Graffiti Deluxe Edition, which includes the remastered version of the album, the bonus album featuring rough mixes and early versions of songs, and a new replica Physical Graffiti poster.

Both releases are due out Sept. 12 and are available for preorder now.

The Who is giving fans a preview of the bonus material that will be featured on the upcoming Who Are You super-deluxe edition, dropping Oct. 31.

The band has shared a previously unheard version of the track “New Song,” which is an early take on the tune featuring Pete Townshend laying down guide vocals for Roger Daltrey. The track is newly mixed by producer Steve Wilson.

“New Song (Pete Vocal Version)” is available now via digital outlets.

The new super-deluxe edition of Who Are You is a seven-CD/Blu-ray set that includes a newly remastered version of the original 1978 album, along with over 70 unreleased tracks. Bonus material includes the first mix of the album by producer Glyn Jones, which the band rejected, plus early run-throughs of songs, session outtakes, demos and live recordings.

In addition to the super-deluxe edition, there will be four-LP or two-CD deluxe editions, a limited-edition single LP and a limited-edition yellow colored vinyl.

All formats are available for preorder now.

In other Who news … the band has announced the rescheduled dates for the two shows of their farewell tour that they had to postpone due to illness. The Philadelphia show will now take place on Sept. 10, while the Atlantic City, New Jersey, concert is scheduled for Sept. 12. Tickets purchased for the original dates are valid for the new shows.

The Who’s The Song is Over North American Farewell tour hits Chicago on Sunday.

Yungblud will perform alongside Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in tribute to late Ozzy Osbourne at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

The set, which will also feature Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, will include a medley of the Prince of Darkness’ greatest hits, according to a press release.

The 2025 MTV VMAs will air live coast-to-coast Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV, and will stream on Paramount+.

Yungblud, Tyler and Bettencourt all performed at the massive Back to the Beginning concert on July 5, which was announced ahead of time as the final live performance by Ozzy and the original Black Sabbath lineup. Ozzy died just over two weeks later on July 22.

Guitar great Peter Frampton takes center stage for the latest installment in the public television series The Art of Music. The episode was filmed in front of a live audience at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Frampton is interviewed by Gov’t Mule founder Warren Haynes in the episode, with the pair teaming up for performances of such Frampton classics as “Do You Feel Like We Do,” “Baby I Love Your Way” and “Show Me the Way.”

“It was wonderful performing for The Art of Music series,” says Frampton. “It’s such a unique way of putting art and music together and to have done this at The Met, what an honor.”

Frampton’s episode of The Art of Music will debut Saturday on PBS stations, and will also stream on The Art of Music’s website and the PBS app.

Frampton is set to kick off a new leg of his Let’s Do It Again Tour on Oct. 17. A complete list of dates can be found at Frampton.com.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Tom Petty’s album Wildflowers, the late singer’s estate has teamed with Because Sound Matters to release the album as a limited-edition two-LP One-Step vinyl.

The first pressing will be released Oct. 10 and is limited to 6,000 numbered copies. The audio has been cut directly from the original master tapes, with the One-Step process offering what is described as “unparalleled sound fidelity.”

It is available for preorder now.

And that’s not the only way the Wildflowers anniversary is being celebrated.

The estate is planning to dip into the Wildflowers vault to share never-before-seen Petty footage from that era. The first release is a performance of “Crawling Back To You” from the 1995 Dogs with Wings tour rehearsals.

More archival footage is expected to be released in the coming months, and fans can get their first look at it by joining Tom Petty Nation, the rocker’s free, exclusive fan club.

But that’s not all. A new book about the making of Wildflowers is coming and is available for preorder now. Plus the documentary Tom Petty, Somewhere You Feel Free: The Making of Wildflowers, directed by Mary Wharton, will be released on Blu-ray Sept. 12.

Released in November 1994, Wildflowers was the first of three Petty albums produced by Rick Rubin. Although credited to just Petty, Heartbreakers members Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and Howie Epstein played on the record, which peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200. It featured the singles “You Don’t Know How It Feels,” “You Wreck Me” and the title track.

Former Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman is back with a new album.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is set to release Melancholia on Oct. 17. It will be the third in a series of solo piano albums he launched in 2017 with Piano Portraits, followed by 2018’s Piano Odyssey.

A press release for the album describes it as “the most personal, introspective, and perhaps profound music of Rick’s storied career.”

Wakeman adds that the album, recorded on a Steinway Model D, is “one of the most meaningful suites of piano music I have ever done.”

Although the album’s title hints at sadness, the description notes that songs on the album “are neither bleak or morose,” adding, “They are generous in spirit, filled with moments of light and resolve, reflecting a mind that has learned to make peace with melancholy – not to escape it, but to transmute it.”

Melancholia will be released on CD, and on black and silver vinyl. It is available for preorder now.

Boz Scaggs is back with his first new studio album in seven years.

The musician, best known for such songs as “Lido Shuffle” and “JoJo,” is set to release Detour on Oct. 17, described as “a captivating and deeply personal exploration of the Great American Songbook.” The album has Scaggs offering up his take on classic songs like “The Very Thought Of You” and Allen Toussaint’s “It’s Raining.”

“I had no intention of making a record when I started singing these songs,” Scaggs shares. “It was all very casual at first, just an opportunity to explore a style of music I’ve always liked, to get together with a friend and play for the sheer joy of it.”

Another track on the album is a new take on his own song “I’ll Be Long Gone,” which appeared on his 1969 self-titled debut. It is now available via digital outlets.

“I get a lot of requests for it,” Scaggs says, noting his friend, pianist Seth Asarnow, “put together this beautiful arrangement.” He adds that “it ended up falling in perfectly with everything else we did for this album.”

Detour, the follow-up to 2018’s Out of the Blues, is available for preorder now.

The first album ever to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart is getting a 50th anniversary edition release this fall.

Elton John‘s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, originally released in 1975, was Elton’s ninth album in six years. A concept album about Elton and lyricist Bernie Taupin‘s career beginnings, it only produced one big hit — “Someone Saved My Life Tonight” — but is revered by fans and critics alike. 

The album was RIAA-certified Gold the day of its release due to preorders and was the first album to enter the Billboard 200 at #1, where it stayed for seven weeks.

Oct. 24 will see the release of the 50th anniversary edition on multiple formats, including digital, a two-LP and a two-CD set, as well as a single LP, Live at Midsummer Music, Wembley Stadium 1975. It documented a concert in which Elton played the brand-new album from start to finish, disappointing fans who wanted to hear the hits. All versions are available for preorder now.

The digital, LP and CD versions include the original album, unreleased session demos and Elton’s live 2005 performances of some of the tracks. There’s also a 28-page booklet that includes Elton’s 1974 diary entries.

Elton says in a statement, “I think it’s the best thing we ever did. The songs were strong, Bernie’s lyrics were brilliant … seeing it go to Number One faster than anything I’d ever released felt like vindication, like the culmination of everything Bernie and I had fought for.”

Bernie adds that the album “chronicled a very special time in our lives.”

“Hearing this album once again 50 years on reminds me of how very deep our bond of friendship and creativity ran,” Bernie says.

Neil Young debuted the new protest song “Big Crime” during his concert in Chicago on Aug. 27, and now he’s officially released the track.

The song, recorded with his band The Chrome Hearts during soundcheck for the Chicago show, is available via the rocker’s Neil Young Archives site. A video of the performance is on YouTube.

In “Big Crime,” Young rails against President Donald Trump and the White House, with the rocker singing “Don’t need no fascist rules/ Don’t want no fascist schools/ Don’t want soldiers on our streets/ There’s big crime in DC at the White House.”

He also sings “No more great again” several times in the song, a reference to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Young and The Chrome Hearts are currently on their Love Earth tour, which hits Woodinville, Washington, on Thursday. The tour wraps Sept. 15 in Los Angeles.

Blondie is revisiting their 1999 comeback album No Exit with a new reissue.

No Exit Deluxe Edition will include a remastered version of the original album, which featured the hit “Maria,” along with remixes and new liner notes. The set will also include the bonus track “Hot Shot,” which was previously only available in Japan. The reissue drops Oct. 31.

“Hot Shot” is available now via digital outlets, featuring a new mix by producer David Wrench.

The deluxe edition also includes all new packaging, created by the original album’s photographer and creative director, Rob Roth.

No Exit Deluxe Edition will be released digitally and in two-CD, two-LP black vinyl and two-LP crystal glass clear configurations. This will mark the first time the album’s available on vinyl. All formats are available for preorder now.

Released in February 1999, No Exit was Blondie’s first album after a 17-year hiatus, reuniting band members Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke and Jimmy Destri. The album was a top-20 hit in the U.S. and peaked at #3 in the U.K., with the song “Maria” hitting #1 in the U.K. The track was also a top-10 hit on the U.S.dance charts.

And Blondie is still making music. The band is getting ready to release a new album, High Noon. So far there’s no word on when it will be released, but a recent press release announcing a special edition of the 2023 graphic novel Blondie: Against the Odds reported it was coming in “spring 2026.”
