Dollface returns to Hulu Friday for its second season, which finds Jules, Madison, Izzy and Stella grappling with turning 30 in their own ways. Creator Jordan Weiss and executive producer Michelle Nader told ABC Audio that women have more things to worry about besides their looks when they hit that big birthday.
“We felt like the milestone of a 30th birthday can be seen from a few different perspectives,” said Weiss, noting how Brenda Song‘s Madison feels there’s a deadline to “have everything figured,” out while Kat Dennings‘ Jules acts like “it’s just another birthday.”
Nader adds this season’s theme is “growing up without growing apart” from your friends by showing how the characters react when they must “cross that bridge from their 20s to 30s.”
Song explains her character, Madison, is riddled with “anxiety” and views her 30th birthday as “doomsday” because “so much of her life is not gone the way that she thought.” The actress revealed, “It was the exact opposite [for me]… Your 20s was all about making mistakes and, when I turned 30, I… felt comfortable in my own skin.” She hopes Madison will also “get to that place” and “enjoy life.”
Dennings teased that, while Jules appears she “doesn’t care one way or the other” about her 30th birthday, “Maybe she secretly does.” Dennings admits she, personally, was “excited to turn 30” because her 20s “were kind of a train wreck.”
Shay Mitchell, who plays Stella, adds Dollface is a cathartic show. “It’s like a big hug,” she described. “It’s light. It’s fun and it’s super relatable.”
There is a message Weiss hopes the audience takes away in season two, which she says is “Dare to care.”
Some already think Amazon digital assistants like its Alexa already know too much about you, but a new Super Bowl ad starring husband and wife Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson takes that to another level.
The spot, which debuted online Monday, shows what would happen if Alexa could read any couple’s minds — and for the stars, it’s not pretty.
One example shows the celebrity couple in bed together, which the Black Widow star staring into Jost’s eyes, telling him how she loved sleeping in. Saturday Night Live‘s Jost tries to hide his nose in the pillow, only to have Alexa — aloud — place an order for mouthwash: “Extra strength,” to be precise.
Another scene has Scarlett reportedly rehearsing a play she’s going to be in — and it’s pretty awful. “When does it open?” a skeptical Jost asks. “March 8,” ScarJo says proudly.
“Setting a reminder to fake your own death on March 8,” Alexa blabs.
Embarrassing Johansson, Alexa actually reveals what shooting a love scene with a hot actor is like for her. “It’s the worst,” she answers her nervous husband, only to have Alexa play “Little Lies” by Fleetwood Mac.”
Safe to say it’s a good thing Alexa can’t do this…yet.
For those who have been missing seeing Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and the other Kardashians on TV, relief is coming. Hulu has dropped a teaser for their new reality show, The Kardashians, which debuts on April 14.
The snippet shows each family member looking glamorous –& and in new mom Kylie Jenner‘s case, extremely pregnant — wearing light-colored gowns as they pose in glass display boxes. The only exceptions are Kris Jenner, who chose a light grey power suit, and Kourtney, who just wore white lingerie.
The classic torch song “Feeling Good” plays, as a title card teases, “All the walls will be shattered.”
And before you roll your eyes about exactly who wants to keep keeping up with the Kardashians, the trailer had already been viewed over 380,000 times on YouTube as of Monday afternoon.
Although it hasn’t yet been announced that the Sex and the City follow-up …And Just Like That will get a second season, all involved in bringing the show to life are reportedly on board, according to a new interview with Variety.
But although Kim Cattrall‘s Samantha Jones texted to meet up with Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Carrie Bradshaw in Europe in the first season finale, don’t expect to see Samantha in the flesh on screen if a second season comes to pass.
“I don’t think I would, because I think there’s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she’s shared,” Parker tells the trade.
Indeed, Cattrall slammed the door pretty hard on the SATC universe many times, after a deal for a third film fell apart. “The answer was always no and a respectful, firm, no,” the fan fave told the Daily Mail, for example.
However, the decision to keep Samantha around in the SATC universe was a way to “respect” the character, says executive producer Michael Patrick King, hence …And Just Like That‘s climactic — but unseen — drinks date between Carrie and Samantha.
“We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know,” Parker told the trade. “After we didn’t do the movie and the studio couldn’t meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her. It didn’t fit into what was important or needed for us.”
“Magically thinking, it’s great to have Samantha,” King agreed, referring to her text-only cameos. “I have no realistic expectation of Kim Cattrall ever appearing again.”

Jamie Lynn Spears is celebrating the fifth anniversary of daughter Maddie Briann‘s recovery from a near-fatal ATV accident.
Taking to Instagram to share a photo of a then-eight-year-old Maddie in a hospital bed and hooked up to various machines, the Zoey 101 star spoke of her daughter’s “miracle anniversary.”
“Maybe, it’s just a little reminder to remain faithful through the good times and the bad times. I mean, I had nothing when I thought I lost my baby girl, so my faith was literally all I had left to cling to,” Jamie Lynn wrote. “I thank God everyday for the extraordinary medical professionals, all the prayer warriors, and the countless angels in heaven, and on earth who made our miracle possible.”
Maddie was riding on an ATV in 2017 when she drove it into a pond on the family property and became trapped, according to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards. Maddie was in critical condition when she was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
Maddie’s recovery anniversary coincided with Jamie Lynn’s show, Sweet Magnolias, becoming the number-one show on Netflix. “I can’t even begin to explain all the ways, that this show and the many wonderful people who create this show have been a saving grace to me,” Jamie Lynn said.
Jamie Lynn closed her post by declaring, “I’m filled with so much gratitude today for a lot reasons, and I don’t ever want to take any of my many blessings for granted. I LOVE YALL.”
The post is a break from Jamie Lynn’s back and forth with sister Britney Spears, following the release of Jamie Lynn’s Things I Should Have Said memoir.
In its first weekend in theaters, Jackass Forever not only came in first place at the box office, but it’s $23.5 million-plus performance already means that the $10 million movie is comfortably in the black.
That said, its cast is also in the black — well, black and blue — again, thanks to the long-running series’ bone-crushing stunts.
However, longtime Jackass director Jeff Tremaine and cast member Wee Man insist that the old adage of “you only hurt the ones you love” comes into play.
Tremaine suggests that the series’ success partly hinges on how long the Jackass guys have been together, since audiences can appreciate their camaraderie.
“It’s an authentic group of friends, right?” Tremaine tells ABC News. “The group that we’re doing this with is a family in a lot of ways, and so that helps you feel it even more.”
He adds, “You care about these guys, and you know their nuances and you know what they’re scared of and stuff. And so that all plays into it.”
Wee Man offers with a laugh about the audience, “The things we do, if they’re funny to us, we know it’s gonna be funny for you. And it’s always pain, and pain is what we’ve always done, but we have to go through it just to make sure the audience gets what they really need.”

Last year, Elton John‘s Oscar viewing party went virtual, but this year, it’s returning in person — minus its namesake host.
The event on March 27 in West Hollywood Park will be the 30th annual installment of the event, which over the years has raised $515 million for Elton’s AIDS Foundation and the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
Elton currently has a concert scheduled for March 27 in Lincoln, Nebraska, so ABC News has confirmed that unfortunately, he won’t be able to attend the event himself.
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile, a good friend of Elton’s who appears on his Lockdown Sessions album, will perform at the bash. Other performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Elton says, “[My husband and manager] David [Furnish] and I are so grateful to celebrate 30 years of the Foundation and especially grateful to Brandi Carlile and the many fabulous guests supporting us for another magnificent night in West Hollywood Park.”
He continues, “Our success reflects the passion, commitment, and generosity of our supporters. Together, we are making a difference and bringing light and hope to people living with HIV around the world.”
Brandi adds, “Getting to perform for such a significant milestone of one of the most legendary Oscar Parties is an absolute honor.”
The 94th Annual Academy Awards will air live on March 27 on ABC.
Considered to be the greatest gymnast of all time, gold medal winner Simone Biles stunned fans last year when she withdrew from the team final at the Toyko Olympics.
Biles’ decision, made for mental health reasons, drew praise from fans, famous friends and fellow athletes, including tennis great Naomi Osaka, who herself previously pulled out of the French Open to focus on her own mental health.
“I do believe everything happens for a reason,” Biles reflects to the fashion website Net-A-Porter in a new interview about her decision, and her life both in and out of the spotlight.
The athlete explained she began suffering from a disorienting condition gymnasts call “the twisties,” when mind and body feel dangerously out of sync. “I felt scared,” she recalls of telling her coaches about her decision to sit out three major events during the Games.
Biles explains while her coaches were “100 percent supportive,” there were some seeds of doubt. They asked her, “‘Are you sure you want to do this?'” Simone recalls, “‘Because, a couple of years from now, you don’t want to have any regrets.'”
The athlete instead says she’d regret it if she didn’t withdraw.
Biles’ decision was hailed by the likes of Michelle Obama, Justin Bieber and even her “idol,” Osaka herself. “I definitely felt all those messages,” Simone said, adding, “I want people to know that they were heard and they were seen – even if I didn’t get to respond.”
The athlete explains she’s putting her downtime to good use with a “self-care” regimen she describes as “taking baths, going to the spa, having movie nights with my boyfriend and spending time at the pool with my dogs,” French Bulldogs Lilo and Rambo.
Biles got Lilo in 2017, to give her much-needed emotional support to deal with the mental health blowback from the arrest of former U.S. Olympics doctor Larry Nassar on charges he sexually abused the athletes in his care, including Biles and her teammates. Simone later joined her team on Capitol Hill to testify against the “entire system that enabled and perpetuated” the abuse — including the FBI, the inaction of which allowed it to continue even after complaints were filed.
Biles said, “That’s when I realized the power that I had.” She added, “I’ll always continue to be a voice for the voiceless. Gymnastics can be a safe place.”
