Olivia Wilde is opening up about being served custody papers earlier this year at CinemaCon while promoting her upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling.

In an interview with Variety, Wilde said the incident was “really vicious.”

“It was my workplace,” Wilde told the trade without naming her ex-fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, the father of their two children, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 5.

“In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting. It shouldn’t have been able to happen.”

Following the CinemaCon incident, Sudeikis said he “deeply regret[s] what happened” and has reiterated that he had no control over it.

“Olivia’s talk was an important event for Olivia, both professionally and personally, and I am very, very sorry that the incident marred her special moment,” Sudeikis said in court documents.

Wilde was onstage for the presentation when she received an envelope that was marked “personal and confidential.” Inside were documents from Sudeikis regarding their kids and a petition to have their case heard in New York.

Wilde described the “really scary” situation as a “huge breach in security.”

“The hurdles that you had to jump through to get into that room with several badges, plus special COVID tests that had to be taken days in advance, which gave you wristbands that were necessary to gain access to the event — this was something that required forethought,” she told the outlet.

Earlier this month, a judge dismissed Sudeikis’ custody petition and sided with Wilde, saying that their case can be heard in Los Angeles, since California is their children’s home state.

Looking back on the incident now, Wilde said that those who were hurt the most were their kids.

“They’ll have to see that, and they shouldn’t ever have to know what happened,” Wilde told Variety.

Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin Stallone have split after 25 years together, according to People.

Flavin Stallone, 54, told the magazine she was “sad to announce” that she’s parted ways with the 76-year-old Rocky series star. She added, “While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters.”

Flavin Stallone also added, “I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward.”

The pair share three adult children: 20-year-old Scarlet, 24-year-old Sistine and 25-year-old Sophia. Stallone has a son, Seargeoh, from a previous marriage; he’s in his 40s. Stallone’s son Sage died at 36 in 2012.

Incidentally, an anniversary Instagram post in which she celebrated their 25th anniversary has been deleted; Stallone’s remains up.

Two weeks ago, Flavin Stallone posted an Insta photo posing with her daughters, all embracing, with the model and entrepreneur noting, “These girls are my priority. nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever.”

On Monday, the Daily Mail noticed Stallone recently had a bicep tattoo of his now-estranged wife’s face covered up — with that of the mug of his late bullmastiff and former Rocky co-star Butkis.

Michelle Bega, a spokeswoman for the actor, insisted the ink wasn’t indicative of any trouble in paradise.

“Mr. Stallone intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife Jennifer, however the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable,” hence the face switch with the pooch, the flack insisted.

“Mr. Stallone loves his family. The Stallones are presently filming a reality show together which will debut on Paramount+,” Bega also told the paper.

Walt Disney Pictures

Two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks is joined by Oscar and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo in the second trailer to Disney’s live-action Pinocchio.

The new snippet gives more of a plot and shows off the puppet-turned-boy brought to life in the film by Hanks’ Gepetto — and onscreen thanks to some computer magic.

Following the plot of Carlo Collodi‘s 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, which was spun into a Disney animated classic in 1940, the trailer shows Gepetto creating the wooden boy, who finds becoming real isn’t without its challenges. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth provides his voice.

Oh, and there’s that whole “nose grows when he lies” business. “A lie can really change a person,” says Joseph Gordon-Levitt voicing Pinocchio’s pal and “conscience,” Jiminy Cricket. “Kinda on the nose, if you ask me,” he quickly admits of his own advice.

Erivo plays the Blue Fairy in this retelling and sings “When You Wish Upon a Star” in the coming attraction.

Her fellow Oscar nominee Lorraine Bracco voices Sofia the Seagull. Keegan-Michael Key voices the scheming fox “Honest” John, and Luke Evans appears as the menacing Coachman. The movie reunites Hanks with his Forrest Gump director, Robert Zemeckis.

“Why on earth would you want to be real, when you could be famous!?” the showman fox tempts the puppet.

The live-action Pinocchio debuts on Disney+ Thursday, September 8, which is this year’s Disney+ Day — a celebration of the streaming service that kicks off the Disney fan expo D23 in Anaheim, California, that weekend.

Andrew Garfield recalls “starving myself of sex and food” for movie role

Good Morning America

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Some actors, including Stranger ThingsDavid Harbour, have been critical of Method acting, but for multiple Oscar-nominee Andrew Garfield, it’s worked out just fine.

On the latest episode of WTF with Marc Maron, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star explained his experience playing a 17th century Jesuit priest in the 2016 Martin Scorsese film Silence.

“I had an incredibly spiritual experience. I did a bunch of spiritual practices every day. I created new rituals for myself. I was celibate for six months, and fasting a lot, because me and Adam [Driver] had to lose a bunch of weight anyway,” Garfield said.

“There were all the spiritual practices we got to do while we were praying, meditating … It was very cool, man. I had some pretty wild, trippy experiences from starving myself of sex and food for that period of time.”

Garfield credits Ryan Gosling for turning him on to Method acting after screen testing together for a project.

“I was overwhelmed. I was like, ‘This guy has figured something out. He’s doing something on a deeper level here,'” Garfield recalled.

Garfield, 39, says he ultimately sought out Gosling’s acting coach, Greta Seacat, who took him under her wing.

“There’s been a lot of misconceptions around what Method acting is, I think,” notes Garfield. “It’s actually just about living truthfully under imagined circumstances, and being really nice to the crew simultaneously, and being a normal human being, and being able to drop it when you need to and staying in it when you want to stay in it.”

“I’m kind of bothered by this idea of ‘Method acting’s f******* bull****.’ It’s like, no, I don’t think you know what Method acting is if you’re calling it bull****.”

‘House of the Dragon’ star Steve Toussaint responds after backlash from critics on his casting

HBO

In a new interview in Men’s Health, Steve Toussaint is addressing critics who have commented about his casting in the new House of the Dragon series.

Toussaint plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, the head of House Velaryon and the richest man in Westeros.

To the magazine, he shut down critics who have suggested his casting doesn’t match what is portrayed in author George R. R. Martin‘s Fire & Blood novel, from which House of the Dragon is adapted.

“So many people are basing their idea of the history of this country [England] on a few films and stuff that were made in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, which don’t bear any resemblance to the truth,” Toussaint said.

“Historically, people of my hue and your hue, we didn’t just turn up here in the ’70s or the ’60s…”

“There are street names that tell you there were people who looked like us in this country even then, but for some reason, it seems to be very hard for people to swallow,” Toussaint added.

“They are happy with a dragon flying. They’re happy with white hair and violet-colored eyes, but a rich Black guy? That’s beyond the pale.”

House of the Dragon debuted over the weekend and marked the largest series premiere in HBO history, with nearly 10 million viewers.

Despite the casting criticism that Toussaint faced, he said it’s been “great” to know that there are people excited about the show.

“What has been wonderful is for every toxic person that has somehow found their way into my timeline, there have been so many others who have been so supportive and been like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t wait, this is going to be great!'” he said.

“Even when we were doing certain scenes, there would be supporting artists who would come up and go, ‘It’s great to have this representation.'”

Patrick McElhenney/FX

How did two Hollywood actors find themselves as owners of the third oldest professional football club in the world?

That’s what FX’s new docuseries Welcome to Wrexham strives to answer. It details the story of how Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds teamed up with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star Rob McElhenney to purchase the fifth-tier Red Dragons, based in the working-class town of Wrexham in North Wales. It sounds like the start of a joke – but it’s all too real and, according to Reynolds, it was all McElhenney’s idea.

“We didn’t know each other before this endeavor. It was Rob who contacted me and kind of laid it all out,” Reynolds tells ABC News. “I love building businesses, that’s a big part of my life. And Rob certainly is no stranger to that – he’s created two, now three, huge, huge television series.”

Their plan is to build Wrexham A.F.C. up from underdogs into champions, and to tell the human stories of the Welsh community along the way. Their “entire intention,” McElhenney says, “is to show people that even if they don’t think that they’re a fan of football, or even a fan of sports, that we can get them invested in the story.”

Reynolds is confident that they will succeed. “I think that this town and this community has this kind of wellspring of stories coming out of it that, really, are tangential to football, but at the same time, it’s really about those people and the personalities in that community who live and die with this club,” he says.

Welcome to Wrexham premieres Wednesday night on FX.

L-R Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah/Marvel Studios

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah opened up to the French news outlet Skript about their shock when they learned their film Batgirl was suddenly shelved by Warner Bros.

In French, the pair recalled their first action when they learned the plug had been pulled: To try to see the footage they’d shot already via a remote link with the studio.

Fallah said, “Adil called and told me, ‘Go ahead. Shoot everything [you see] on your mobile.'”

However, the studio’s IT department beat them to the punch. “I went on the server … Everything was gone,” Bilall said.

El Arbi said, “We were like, ‘F***ing s***!’ All the scenes with Batman in them!”

Michael Keaton made a long-anticipated return to playing Bruce Wayne/Batman in the project.

The pair also said in spite of calls from fans to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on their own, they were still in the editing process and there was much work still to do on the film, also starring Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser.

That said, El Arbi expressed, “We just hope that one day, the movie would be released.”

The directors also reiterated the support they got from fans and other directors, like Edgar Wright and James Gunn, following the sudden announcement soothed them somewhat.

Fallah added: “First, when I heard the news, I was shocked. I did not know how to react. I wanted to break stuff, cry.”

“Even laugh,” El Arbi said with a morbid smile.

El Arbi noted, “The guys from [Warner Bros.] told us it was not a talent problem from our part or the actress, or even the quality of the movie. They told us it was a strategic change. There was new management, and they wanted to save some money.”
