Netflix has released the official trailer to Colin Kaepernick‘s upcoming limited series, Colin in Black & White.

As previously reported, the six-episode drama follows Kaepernick’s journey to becoming a civil-rights activist and professional football player. Co-created and directed by Ava DuVernay, the series focuses on Kaepernick’s young-adult years growing up in a mixed-race household after being adopted by a white family. Colin in Black & White launches on Netflix on October 29.

In other news, Robin Givens is returning to her original Head of the Class role of Darlene Merriman in a new HBO Max reboot of the iconic 1980s series. Inspired by the original ABC sitcom, which ran from 1986 to 1991, the reboot will center on a group of “overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge — a teacher who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.” Givens, who previously played one of the Individualized Honors Program students, will now portray an ambitious lawyer and parent to one of the kids. A first-look trailer is now available. Head of the Class premieres Thursday, November 4, on HBO Max.

Finally, Black Lightning star Cress Williams has joined the cast of the upcoming murder mystery film What Remains, Variety has learned. Williams joins Kellan Lutz and Anne Heche, who were also announced. Directed and written by Nathan Scoggins, the film centers on Williams as a small town pastor who is forced to “contend with an act of forgiveness when the convict he forgave for murdering his wife returns to town five years later.” A release date for What Remains has yet to be announced.

The COO of Metropolis Comics became the superhero that a celebrity needed, after he found Molly Shannon‘s cellphone.

On his TikTokVincent Zurzolo posted a selfie video in which he explained he was in a cab with his wife, headed from New York Comic Con on Sunday, when they heard a cellphone ringing in the back seat.

He explained a “very nervous” person was on the other end of the line, then Zurzolo panned to show the owner: Molly Shannon, in their home, doing her SNL character Mary Catherine Gallagher’s famous “Superstar” pose.

Shannon explained she’s normally “very reliable” with her cellphone, which she guessed must have spilled from her purse. She used the “Find My Phone” iPhone app to locate it but doubted she’d ever see it again.

The trio met in person to make the exchange. “I said, it’s very serendipitous that we all meet, so there must be a reason for it,” the actress admitted.

Showing some comic timing of his own, Zurzolo deadpanned, “I let her know we are swingers, and she is staying the night.”

“Yeah, it all worked out great,” Shannon added sexily, before closing with “Happy Sunday!” and gratefully hugging the couple.

The post has been liked more than 40 thousand times since the Zurzolos posted it Tuesday.

Nick Cannon and Eminem feuded for over a decade, and on Monday, The Masked Singer host thanked Fat Joe for helping to end their grudge when Joe appeared on Nick’s new self-titled TV talk show.

Eminem, who was briefly involved with Mariah Carey, fired numerous shots over the years at Nick, who was married to Carey from 2008 to 2014.

“Mariah, what ever happened to us?/ Why did we have to break up?” the 8 Mile star rapped on his 2009 track “Bagpipes from Baghdad.” “Nick, you had your fun, I’ve come to kick you in your sack of junk.” He continued to dis Nick all the way through 2020 on Joe’s “Lord Above” track.

“I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note,” Eminem rapped. “But that other dude’s whipped, that p***y got him neutered.”

Cannon retaliated with multiple diss tracks, including “The Invitation” and “Pray for Him.”

On his television show, Nick thanked the Terror Squad leader for being the peacemaker during an Instagram Live session. “This brother right here helped end the beef with me and Eminem on his show,” Cannon said. “And it wasn’t no ‘real beef,’ but Joe was like, ‘I gotta get you two brothers together.'”

Fat Joe said he called up Eminem and told him, “This gotta stop,” and the feud ended.

“Let’s enjoy the ride”: William Shatner speaks with “awe” of the “miracle” of his upcoming space flight
Good Morning America

On Wednesday, William Shatner will be strapped into Blue Origins New Shepard rocket and do what his alter-ego James T. Kirk has done countless times: travel to space.

In a new promotional video from Jeff Bezos‘ company, Shatner talks with “wonder” about his upcoming experience. “It’s life-changing in its way,” the actor says. “Not because of the people I’m meeting and talking with…Jeff Bezos’ concept to make living and building in space, and to make pollution a thing of the past — what noble ambitions those are, and somebody has to start it.”

The actor adds, “We’re just at the beginning. And how miraculous is it to be at the beginning!”

Shatner continues, “There is this mystique of being in space, and being that much closer to the stars.”

The actor and author says he expects to be “entranced” by his view from 66 miles above the Earth, noting, “I want to look at that orb and appreciate its beauty and its tenacity, its sustaining this life of ours which allows us to look with awe and wonder about the miracle of space.”

He notes, “There is an adventure in my life that I would not have had if I had not done this.”

Acknowledging his iconic Star Trek alter-ego, Shatner reflects, “It looks like there is this curiosity about this fictional character, Captain Kirk going into space, so let’s go along with it and enjoy the ride!”

Shatner will join microbiologist Glen de Vries, Planet Labs founder Chris Boshuizen, and Blue Origin’s Audrey Powers when New Shepard’s 18th mission, NS-18, takes off Wednesday morning.

The flight, delayed a day because of high winds, is scheduled for lift-off at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Shatner’s launch can be watched live on Blue Origins’ YouTube channel.

Ellen Pompeo is delighted to be working alongside Kate Walsh once again on Grey’s Anatomy.

The series star spoke with E!’s Daily Pop about their long-awaited reunion, revealing that emotions were riding high when they both saw each other for the first time on the set.

“[We] may have shed a tear,” the actress admitted.  “We may have hugged and cried a bit.”

Pompeo plays Dr. Meredith Grey, who has a complicated history with Walsh’s Dr. Addison Montgomery — the ex-wife of Patrick Dempsey‘s Derek Shepherd.   Dr. Montgomery first appeared in the season 1 finale of Grey‘s and memorably introduced herself Derek’s wife before extending a hand and telling Meredith, “And you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband.”

The characters’ relationship evolved over the years as they grew to respect one another.  Walsh departed Grey‘s at the end of the third season to star in the six-season spinoff, Private Practice.

Pompeo explained why it was so special to work alongside Walsh again.

“All of us from the original cast, we do share such a special bond,” said Pompeo. “We went through something that only a few people can understand what it was, and to see all of that hard work and all of that craziness that we went through — you know, getting famous so quickly and the show was such a big deal — and to come together again and the show is still on the air, to know that our work has had such an impact, is pretty moving.”

Grey’s Anatomy, now in its 18th season, airs Thursdays on ABC.

(NOTE CONTENT) In a profile with TIME, Dune star Timothée Chalamet sidestepped a question about the sexual abuse accusations surrounding his former co-star, Armie Hammer

Chalamet, who played Hammer’s love interest in the Oscar-nominated 2018 film Call Me By Your Name, told the magazine, “I totally get why you’re asking that. But it’s a question worthy of a larger conversation, and I don’t want to give you a partial response.”

Hammer’s career came to a halt early this year after two women, including ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze, came forward in January with serious accusations against him, claiming the actor harbored fantasies involving cannibalism. In addition, the 22-year-old claimed Hammer was “obsessed” with the idea of “taking a piece of me…and consuming it.”

Following her claims, a 24-year-old woman named Effie claimed The Lone Ranger star “violently” raped her for several hours on April 24, 2017, and that she believed he was going to kill her.

Hammer denied the accusations from both women and stepped down from two projects: Shotgun Wedding, starring Jennifer Lopez, and an upcoming series titled The Offer, about the making of The Godfather. The Cold War thriller Billion Dollar Spy also severed ties with the actor.

Hammer’s attorney denied the charges, noting, “From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [the accuser] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual…and mutually participatory. [The accuser’s] attention seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.”

In June, Vanity Fair reported that Hammer had entered rehab to deal to “drug, alcohol, and sex issues.”

The Golden Globes to be awarded, but not on NBC

The Golden Globes will go on as planned, but not in a live telecast on NBC.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has been under fire both in the press and from Hollywood’s elite, who have accused the organization of sexism and racism, prompting NBC to announce in May that they wouldn’t air the 2022 ceremony.

However, a source tells the The Wrap, “The HFPA plans to recognize the performances of 2021 to celebrate the great work of the industry this past year at the 79th annual Golden Globes.” The outlet goes on to say that it’s unclear at present how and in what format the awards and nominations be presented for what would be the 79th Golden Globes.

HFPA President Helen Hoehne and interim CEO Todd Boehly sent a memo to publicists and studios on Friday that outlined the new rules and regulations for submitting projects for award consideration. However, it’s unclear who will even show up to accept the awards after a group of publicists and studios all joined a boycott of the Globes until reforms were made.  Furthermore, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise announced back in May their intentions to “give back” their Golden Globe trophies because of the controversy.

The HFPA recently announced a number of changes and reforms, included hiring Boehly as its interim CEO, electing a new board of directors, adding a diverse group of 21 new members, recruiting three non-members for its board of directors, and partnering with the NAACP to regularly review their diversity goals, among other steps.
