Jamie Lee Curtis is all for a Freaky Friday sequel.

While appearing on The View MondayCurtis, who starred alongside Lindsay Lohan in the 2006 comedy film, shared that she’s already pitched the idea.

“I’ve already written to Disney — my friends at Disney, I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie,” she revealed. “I’m 64 years old today — not today, soon, in a month or whatever. My point is I’m wide open, creatively I am wide open.”

The Halloween Ends star even shared her thoughts on a storyline for a second installment of the 2003 film.

“Lindsay Lohan and me back in Freaky Friday. She just made a Christmas movie, I believe, and she got married. … It’s all good. Bring it! Let me be the grandma,” she said. “Let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon.”

Curtis continued, “I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world.”

Freaky Friday features Curtis and Lohan as a mother-daughter duo whose bodies are switched thanks to a magical fortune cookie.

“We miss Alex every day”: New ‘Jeopardy!’ hosts speak out in first joint interview

“We miss Alex every day”: New ‘Jeopardy!’ hosts speak out in first joint interview
Good Morning America

In their first joint interview since Jeopardy! announced who will fill the shoes of the late, beloved host Alex Trebek, new hosts Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings sat down to talk to Good Morning America about the next era for the long-running game show.

“We miss Alex every day. But luckily, it still feels like Jeopardy!” Jennings said.

The show’s executive producer, Michael Davies, announced in July that Bialik and Jennings would become the show’s official co-hosts permanently. Both were among a string of guest hosts who filled in temporarily after Trebek died of cancer in 2020.

Bialik is a four-time Emmy-nominated actress who is best known for her television sitcom roles in Blossom and The Big Bang Theory. Jennings holds the record for the longest winning streak on the game show, with 74 consecutive wins.

Jennings said that because he had played so many games, he thought he would have a “pretty good sense” of what hosting would be like, but said he was quickly proven wrong. “You realize hosting’s even harder because you basically have to do everything the contestants do, plus manage the game for them, plus manage the game for the home viewer,” Jennings said.

Bialik joked, “And not make faces.” She explained, “I think for both of us, we feel like we’re really ushering in what Alex facilitated so beautifully, which is, again, highlighting contestants and the show that people know and love. I think for me and Ken, we do love the purity and the fun Jeopardy! has been and will continue to be.”

Jennings said of the hosting duties, “Some nights it’s gonna be me. Some nights it’s gonna be Mayim. But it’s always Jeopardy!

NeNe Leakes‘ son Brentt Leakes is recovering after being hospitalized for a stroke and heart failure, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star confirmed Monday.

Leakes took to social media with an update that the 23-year-old has been “struggling with speaking” since the scary incident earlier this month but has “shown some improvement and we’re really happy and blessed for that.”

In her video posted via IG Stories, later shared by The Neighborhood Talk, the reality star says her son had a stroke two weeks ago. It was her decision to speak publicly about it so the “correct” narrative could be told.

“This is not the way I wanted it to come out. We wanted to be able to talk about it ourself when Brentt was in a better place,” Leakes said. “So, here I am because I would rather the correct thing be out there than something that’s not correct.”

Leakes says the cause is still unknown, though doctors did rule out drugs, HIV and other infections.

“They have run a number of tests on him to see what could have possibly made this happen to him,” she explained. “And we are still trying to figure out. Because if we knew the cause, obviously they could treat the cause. It was very scary.”

The 54-year-old star also noted doctors could consider it a genetic condition and that her son has been “super stressed” during the one-year anniversary of his father Gregg Leakes‘ passing in September.

Leakes says her son is “in good spirits” after talking to him via FaceTime Monday morning.

William Shatner’s takeaway from space trip: “Grief”

Blue Origin

When William Shatner traveled to space in October 2021, Star Trek‘s 91-year-old Captain Kirk says he was left with a feeling he didn’t expect: “Grief.”

Variety has published an excerpt from his new book, Boldly Go: Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder. In it, Shatner explains that once he and his fellow travelers reached the weightlessness of space in the Blue Origins craft, he headed right to a window “to stare into space.”

“I love the mystery of the universe. I love all the questions that have come to us over thousands of years of exploration and hypotheses,” the actor wrote. “[B]ut when I looked in the opposite direction, into space, there was no mystery, no majestic awe to behold … all I saw was death.”

Shatner added, “I saw a cold, dark, black emptiness. It was unlike any blackness you can see or feel on Earth … Everything I had expected to see was wrong.”

He mused, “It was among the strongest feelings of grief I have ever encountered. The contrast between the vicious coldness of space and the warm nurturing of Earth below filled me with overwhelming sadness. Every day, we are confronted with the knowledge of further destruction of Earth at our hands: the extinction of animal species, of flora and fauna … things that took five billion years to evolve, and suddenly we will never see them again because of the interference of mankind. It filled me with dread.”

Shatner summarized: “My trip to space was supposed to be a celebration; instead, it felt like a funeral.”

NBC’s reboot of the ’80s show Quantum Leap has been a hit for the network, and as proof, NBC is adding six more episodes to its freshman season.

This means season 1 will be 19 episodes long.

The series stars Raymond Lee as Dr. Ben Song, following in the footsteps of Scott Bakula‘s time-skipping scientist, Dr. Sam Beckett. Caitlin Bassett plays Addison, Ben’s fiancée and hologram guide as he leaps through time, following Beckett’s research.

The cast also includes Ernie Hudson, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee.

Quantum Leap ranks as the season’s #1 new show in the 18-49 demo, and on streaming, it’s topped all other first-run NBC TV shows on Peacock.

Aubrey Plaza gets real about leaving Robert De Niro “freaked out” on the set of ‘Dirty Grandpa’

One cannot accuse Aubrey Plaza of not going the distance for a role — even if it meant “weirding out” one of America’s greatest living actors.

Such was the case on the set of the 2016 gross-out comedy Dirty Grandpa, which saw the Emily the Criminal star lusting after the much, much older Oscar winner.

During a London Film Festival ScreenTalk session, Variety quoted Plaza as saying, “By the time he’d show up, I’m in character. My character had one goal: to have sex with him. I was acting totally insane as the character because we were about to shoot. I don’t think he understood that wasn’t me. You’d think he would because he’s an actor and an amazing one.”

Plaza even recalled getting a call from her agent, who warned her that De Niro’s reps said, “Bob’s a little freaked out.”

Aubrey came on so strong, apparently, that when De Niro threw a party for the cast, he didn’t recognize her out of character. “I showed up and he’s like, ‘Who are you, sweetheart?’ And after that he was normal.”

The Parks and Recreation vet mused, “At first I think I came on really strong. I did some questionable things I wouldn’t do anymore.”

Amazon Studios

Amazon has posted to social media the first glimpses of two of the stars of the fourth season of the Emmy-nominated show The Boys, which is currently shooting in Vancouver.

Depicted in full costume and heroic poses are Susan Heyward as Sister Sage and Valorie Curry as Firecracker.

Producers are remaining tight-lipped about the characters, which didn’t appear in Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s graphic novel source material.

However, their social media debut came with some hints. “Meet Sage. She’s already a thousand steps ahead of you,” read one, hinting that she could be a speedster, what with Jessie T. Usher‘s A-Train being literally not up to speed himself.

On the latter character, her photo came with the caption, “Let’s just say this Firecracker has a short fuse.”

The show’s executive producer, Eric Kripke, hinted in August that the characters “are some of the best & craziest ever written for #TheBoys. You are going to love them. And by love, I mean be absolutely horrified & a tiny bit nauseous. WELCOME TO THE FAMILY YOU GUYS.”

On Monday, he replied to the new photos, “Wait till you see @susanheyward & @valoriecurry in action. Horrific & hilarious & very, very dangerous.”

Jury selection in the sexual assault trial of disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein begins Monday in Los Angeles.

The criminal charges are based on the accusations of five women, who have said the former Miramax head attacked them in luxury hotels between 2004 and 2013.

Weinstein has pleaded not guilty and has said all the encounters were consensual.

All five of Weinstein’s accusers are expected to testify. Also taking the stand are several other women whose accusations are not part of the criminal charges but who will describe Weinstein’s prior bad acts.

One of those prior bad act witnesses, ABC News has confirmed, is California First Lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom.

Her attorney, Beth Fegan, released a statement to ABC News. “Like many other women, my client was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein at a purported business meeting that turned out to be a trap,” Fegan said. “She intends to testify at his trial in order to seek some measure of justice for survivors, and as part of her life’s work to improve the lives of women. Please respect her choice to not discuss this matter outside of the courtroom.”

While he goes on trial in LA, Weinstein is serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault in New York. He has appealed his conviction.

‘Bachelorette’ star Rachel Lindsay says self-care is “a survival tactic”

‘Bachelorette’ star Rachel Lindsay says self-care is “a survival tactic”
‘Bachelorette’ star Rachel Lindsay says self-care is “a survival tactic”
ABC

Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay says self-care is a critical “survival tactic” that needs to be normalized.

Lindsay spoke to ABC Audio ahead of World Mental Health Day and explained why the mentality of “stop feeling sorry for yourself” and “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” is harmful. “That is how I grew up, no fault to my parents… I love that I have those tools and it’s taken me so far,” she began, “But, there’s another side of it.”

Lindsay continued, “It’s the same way that you have to be tough to survive in this world. You have to have self-care, as well, to survive. Otherwise you’re going to crash. You’re not going to be your best self. You’re going to unleash a beast because you’re not taking care of yourself.”

“Isn’t it odd that we’re taught to take care of your body and we’re taught to eat healthy things, to nourish our bodies, but we’re not taught to necessarily nourish ourselves mentally?” she queried. “It’s necessary to keep you going. It’s healthy.”

When Lindsay needs a mental recharge, she says there are “little things that reset me.” One option is taking her dogs for a walk and wearing earbuds without listening to music “so nobody would bother me.” Another tool is sitting still by either taking note of things she’s grateful for, not looking at her phone and opening the windows to listen to “the sound of birds chirping.”

“Self care is a survival tactic,” Lindsay offered. “…I couldn’t have success if I didn’t carve out time to be successful within.”

Lindsay is thrilled the younger generations are embracing self-care and hopes that message continues to spread.  She also emphasized the importance of therapy, saying it can help one fully realize “what you need from within.”
