Rumer Willis is going to be a mom. The star is expecting her first child with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the pair shared the news with a trio of black-and-white photos showing off the growing baby bump. In the first photo, Derek kisses his girlfriend’s belly, while the second shows off Rumer’s silhouette as she poses. The third shows Derek with a shocked face as he holds her belly.
Rumer, 34, kept the caption simple with the plant-sprouting emoji.
Many showered the couple with congratulatory messages and well wishes including famous friends like Brittany Snow, who wrote, “Congrats beauty.” Aaron Paul commented, “I’m so happy for you my friend. Such beautiful news. Congrats!!!”
Rumer’s mother, Demi Moore, also shared the Instagram photos, with the caption, “Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era.”
After promoting the film by saying “The hierarchy of power of DC Universe is about to change forever,” the powers behind the DC Universe, James Gunn and Peter Safran, have decided Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson‘s Black Adam isn’t fitting into their vision.
Johnson addressed his “passionate” fans via social media late Tuesday afternoon, noting, “James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam won’t be a part of the first phase of DC’s new plans.”
He added hopefully, “However, DC and Seven Bucks [Johnson’s production company] have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters.”
Despite Johnson’s passion for the project, and a dizzying, multi-country promotional tour, the pricey superhero film underperformed at the box office. And then there’s the matter of Henry Cavill‘s return in the film’s after-credits: After Johnson reportedly hustled to get the actor back into the Warner Bros. Discovery fold as Superman, Gunn, then Cavill, announced he wouldn’t return after all.
In his message, Johnson said it took 15 years to make Black Adam, and thanked the fans who supported it.
“I’m very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide,” he said. “I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with tremendous gratitude, humility and love. We did great.”
Gunn and Safran have caught flak from passionate fans of director Zack Snyder, as the executives seemingly chart a new course for the DC heroes away from those initially cast by the director of Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the re-cut Zack Snyder’sJustice League.
Johnson also commented, “James and I…have always rooted for each other to succeed. It’s no different now, and I will always root for DC (and Marvel) to win and WIN BIG.”
A short time later, Gunn retweeted Johnson’s message, and noted, “Love @TheRock & I’m always excited to see what he & Seven Bucks do next. Can’t wait to collaborate soon,” adding a “prayer hands” emoji.
The show may have had a rocky start on Broadway, with previous star Beanie Feldstein in the lead, but Funny Girl has been a runaway hit with her replacement, Lea Michele,as Fanny Bryce.
In fact, Variety reports the musical just broke the $2 million mark over its eight performances ending December 18 — a record not just for the production, but for the August Wilson Theatre in which it’s staged.
This is no small feat in regular times, let alone when the Great White Way is still suffering from tourism below pre-pandemic levels, the trade points out.
Prior to Funny Girl‘s $2.005 million record, the previous record-holder was Mean Girls‘ $1.994 million house record set back in 1998.
Variety also points out the musical nears 99% capacity every night with the Glee alumna and Tony winner Tovah Feldshuh in the leads; the venue stood at about 74% full when Feldstein and Jane Lynch were the stars.
With the year about to wrap up, online ticket seller Fandango quizzed more than 5,000 users to see which movies they can’t wait to see in theaters in 2023 — and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, opening May 5, topped the list.
What’s more, one of the Marvel Studios movie’s stars, Chris Pratt, was named the Most Anticipated Hero of 2023.
On the flip side of that, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula in The Little Mermaid live-action film was dubbed the Most Anticipated Villain of 2023.
Coming in second in the anticipated movies poll was Spider Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the follow-up to the Oscar-winning animated original. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ranked third; John Wick: Chapter 4 placed, appropriately, fourth; and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny rounded out the top five.
The poll also revealed 97% say they expect to go to the movie theater more often in 2023 than in 2022, with 84% admitting they plan to see six or more movies on the big screen in the coming year.
Survey questions, methodology and results have not been verified or endorsed by ABC News or The Walt Disney Company.

The sequel Avatar: The Way of Water just hit theaters Friday, but apparently that was news to one of its stars, Emmy winner Edie Falco.
During an appearance on The View, Falco says she shot her parts of the long-in-development movie a long time ago, so she thought the movie came out and bombed.
“I shot [it] I think four years ago,” the Sopranos vet explained. “And then I’ve been busy doing stuff and somebody mentioned Avatar and I thought, ‘Oh, I guess it came out and didn’t do very well.’ Because I hadn’t heard anything. I thought, ‘Oh, well, it happens!'” Falco says, cracking up the chat show’s co-hosts.
Falco continued, “And then someone recently said, ‘Oh, Avatar is coming out!’ I said, ‘It hasn’t come out yet?!'”
In fact, the movie is doing pretty well: The sequel has made more than $440 million worldwide so far.
Falco, who plays one of the rare human characters in the film, did have a complaint: “I wanted to be blue,” she vented of the movie’s Na’vi aliens. “I wanted to be blue and really tall,” the 5-foot-5-inch actress griped.
On Thursday, Peacock launches The Best Man: The Final Chapters, the continuing story of Lance, Shelby, Jordan, Harper, Quentin and the rest of the friends from the hit Best Man films.
Melissa De Souza is back as Shelby, and she tells ABC Audio she gives the fans all the credit for keeping the story alive from the 1999 original film.
The reaction to the release of the trailer for the new limited series was viral, and for that, the actress is “grateful.”
“I mean, it makes us feel so good,” she says. “We’re so grateful for the fan base that we have, that we’ve had from the beginning. And they’re so enthusiastic. And I always say Best Man fans are the best.”
De Souza continues, “They are so supportive and they just really, really are excited. I mean, they’re not even, like, pretending and they’re the ones who made this happen!”
The actress enthuses, “So we have to say thank you to the fans because they have been asking for this for years, like straight up harassing the director. And I’m so happy that we’re able to give them what they asked for. And I hope they love it. I really do.”
The eight-episode series reunites De Souza with Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Harold Perrineau, Regina Hall and Taye Diggs with the first movie’s director, Malcolm D. Lee, and follows “the beloved friend group … from midlife crisis to midlife renaissance.”
Sharon Osbourne is obviously back on her feet after being rushed to the hospital for a “medical emergency” over the weekend. As reported, The Osbournes matriarch fell ill while shooting a paranormal-themed show with her son Jack, who later updated the stay was brief, and his “mum” was back home.
Page Six reports former The Talk co-host Sharon was seen shopping at the James Perse store in Beverly Hills on Monday, and seemingly back to her feisty self: The publication noted she “seemed irritated” at the paparazzi who snapped her picture.
Osbourne later updated fans with a cheery Christmas tree picture on Instagram featuring a smiling Husky dog, noting, “Back home and doing great! Thank you for all the ❤️.” Amanda Klootz and Carrie Ann Inaba were among the first of tens of thousands to chime in with their relief in the replies.
Jack Osbourne noted on a now-vanished Instagram Story on Saturday that he was, “gonna leave it to [his mom] to share about when she is ready.”

Matt Damon missed out on a cool $250 million dollar payday when he turned down the starring role in Avatar and director James Cameron can’t help but to laugh.
Cameron originally pitched Damon to star in the 2009 film and even offered him a 10% cut of box office profits, Damon revealed in 2021 while at Cannes Film Festival. Given that the film went on to gross over $2 billion, that would have equaled a payday of over $250 million.
“I will go down in history… you will never meet an actor who turned down more money,” Damon said at the time, according to Deadline.
In a recent BBC interview, Cameron was asked about the actor and he immediately erupted in laughter.
“He’s beating himself up over this and I really think you know, ‘Matt you’re kind of like one of the biggest movie stars in the world, get over it,'” Cameron said before explaining why Damon had to turn the film down. “He had to do another ‘Bourne’ film which was on his runway and there was nothing we could do about that. So he had to regretfully decline.”
Although Damon missed out on a chance to be in the first movie, Cameron is open to him appearing in a future Avatar sequel but he doesn’t plan on giving him the same deal.
“Must do it. We have to do it so the world is in equilibrium again. But he doesn’t get 10%, f*** that,” Cameron said.
