Ahead of the March 1 premiere of The Mandalorian‘s third season on Disney+, the first episode of the show’s Emmy-winning first season will make its broadcast television debut on Friday, February 24.

“Chapter 1: The Mandalorian” will be simulcast at 8 p.m. ET across several Disney-owned networks: ABC, Freeform and FX.

Originally debuting on Disney+ November 12, 2019, the episode was the introduction to Pedro Pascal‘s armored bounty hunter, later revealed to be named Din Djarin, making his way in the universe five years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi.

In the first chapter, Mando snatches an alien embezzler and later takes on a high-paying job to find an elusive quarry, dead or alive. The target was later revealed to be a 50-year-old infant alien of the same mysterious species as Yoda — and the “Baby Yoda” phenomenon was born.

Chapter 1 was written by show creator Jon Favreau and was the live-action directorial debut of its Emmy-winning executive producer, Star Wars: The Clone Wars veteran Dave Filoni.

Welcome back to Rydell High: Paramount+ releases teaser to prequel series ‘Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies’
Paramount+

On Tuesday, Paramount+ released the trailer for its musical prequel series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.

Starring Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, Ari Notartomaso and Tricia Fukuhara, the show is based on the bad girls from 1978’s blockbuster Grease; Jamie Donnelly, Dinah Manoff and Didi Conn played the big-screen versions of the pink satin jacket-wearing “girl gang” led by Stockard Channing‘s Rizzo.

The teaser shows that even in 1955, four years before Grease took place, cliques were alive and well in high school. “There are a lot of kids in Rydell who are sick of feeling not welcome here,” Davila’s Jane laments.

Soon she and her friends take the Pink Lady Pledge: “To act cool, to look cool, and to be cool. From death do us part: Think Pink.” She adds in voiceover, “Sometimes you gotta be bad to do good.”

The upcoming musical series will premiere on Thursday, April 6, exclusively on Paramount+.

Pamela Anderson responded to Britney Spears’ shout-out with a “private letter”

A week after Britney Spears spoke highly of Pamela Anderson, the Baywatch star revealed she returned the sweet gesture with a “private letter.”

Speaking to ET Canada, Anderson seemingly appreciated Britney’s public show of support, which came after Netflix released her documentary Pamela, a Love Story. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the singer praised Pamela for reclaiming her narrative.

Instead of returning Britney’s gesture with an Instagram post of her own, the actress went to the post office.

“I wrote her a letter back and hopefully she’s received it by now … just a private letter,” she said.

In the deleted post, Britney applauded how Pamela’s sons — Brandon Thomas Lee, 26, and Dylan Jagger Lee, 25 — continue to defend her. She also seemed to suggest she wished her family would do the same.

“Pamela game me an understanding that people should support you exactly where you are in that moment of your life,” Britney wrote in the deleted post.

Anderson empathized with the singer. “It’s hard when the people closest to you betray you or use you — you’re like a moneymaker,” she said. “It’s painful.'”

Following a historic Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe win for Angela Bassett, as well as her nomination for the upcoming 95th annual Academy Awards, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has become the most-watched Marvel film premiere on Disney+.

The film, which dropped on Disney+ on February 1, had the most hours streamed in its first five days on the streaming service. The movie, which made more than $842 million in theaters worldwide, is available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Meanwhile, Assembled: The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuts on Disney+ Wednesday.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey celebrated the 2003 film in an Instagram live session on Monday.

“I think it’s so amazing,” Hudson said. “We got lucky to be in such a classic one, you know.”

The film follows Hudson’s character, Andie Anderson, a magazine columnist who devised a plan to dupe McConaughey’s Ben Berry into leaving her in 10 days. But like all good rom-coms, the two end up falling for each other.

“Everyone wants to know … what’s it like to kiss McConaughey,” Hudson began. “And my whole thing is we’re always in weird environments. There was only one time when we kissed that was so nice and gentle in the bathroom.”

“Yeah, everything else was not climate control,” McConughey added.

“Or you’re on the Brooklyn Bridge and the wind is blowing in your face…” Hudson laughed.

McConaughey said of their chemistry, “We enjoyed going toe to toe. It was fair game and we knew it wasn’t personal — and hopefully the camera’s rolling while it’s happening…I think we can…take the joke further … We were never afraid to push it where some would consider it to be too far.”

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days has enjoyed a revival on social media, with many delivering some of the film’s lines on TikTok or singing to Carly Simon‘s “You’re So Vain.”

“There’s been this whole viral How to Lose a Guy moment and it’s basically introduced our movie to an entirely new generation of young kids,” Hudson said. “And all these younger kids are…lip-syncing and doing moments for it.”

McConaughey agreed: “…They’re like, ‘We just watched your movie for the fifth time’ — and it’s very current to them.”

In Brief: Grammy ratings up; Spin-offs of ‘Dexter’ and Billions’ coming, and more

Sunday night’s Grammy Awards telecast on CBS drew over 12.4 million viewers, according to time zone-adjusted fast national ratings from Nielsen and including streaming on Paramount+ and CBS apps — a three-year audience high for the awards show. That makes the Grammys the most-watched network primetime program this season, with the exception of sports. Sunday’s show put up the best numbers on CBS since the 18.69 viewers for the 2020 telecast, which was the last ceremony held before the COVID-19 pandemic began…

Sony Pictures is eyeing an I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot with original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. in talks to reprise their roles, according to Deadline. The 1997 film, about a group of teenagers stalked by a killer, one year after a fatal accident on their graduation night, grossed $125 million worldwide and helped launch Hewitt and Prinze Jr.’s careers, as well as those of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe. Plot details for the reboot have not been revealed…

The soon-to-be-named Paramount+ on Showtime is expanding two of the cabler’s popular dramas — Dexter and Billions — with “multiple offshoots in the works,” sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. As many as four Billions spinoffs are in the works, including Millions and Trillions. Billions now ranks as premium cable channel’s longest-running scripted original series. Showtime also has gone straight to series on a prequel series: Dexter: Origins, which will tell the origin story of Michael C. Hall’s serial killer and a new version of Dexter: New Blood, depicting “the ongoing emergence of Dexter’s son Harrison”…

Showtime has given a straight-to-series order for a political thriller tentatively titled The Department, according to Deadline. The series, executive-produced and directed by George Clooney, follows the “‘Bureau of Legends,’ responsible for training and handling deep-cover agents on long-term missions in areas with French interests. Living under false identities for years, these agents’ missions are to identify and recruit good intelligence sources”…

Monday’s episode of The Bachelor was a night of surprises as three ladies left the competition — two deciding to go home and another in a shocking elimination.

Things between Zach and Christina seemed to be heating up after their one-on-one date last week, during which she met his family and went on to snag the date rose. However, he had second thoughts on Monday after hearing about her behavior around the other ladies.

It seemed Christina couldn’t stop rubbing it in about her date with Zach and the strong connection they formed. It finally came to a head following Monday’s group date that saw Charity snag the rose and not her. Christina voiced her “confusion” over the outcome, complaining, “Honestly, I’m mad that it wasn’t me.”

Christina’s remark brought Charity to tears and angered the others on the date, with Brooklyn accusing the 26-year-old Nashville-based content creator of trying “intimidate and manipulate” and that she was “calculated.”

Zach’s was alerted to the Christina situation by Brianna, who brought it to his attention after informing him that she was leaving the competition. After hearing similar stories from several other women, Christina was sent home at the rose ceremony.

Elsewhere, Bailey also left the competition after Zach confirmed her fear that their relationship wasn’t moving in the right direction, and a pair of one-on-one dates yielded roses for Katie and Aly.

Here are the 14 women remaining after Monday night’s episode:

Aly, 26, a healthcare strategist from Atlanta, Ga.
Anastasia, 30, a content marketing manager from San Diego, Calif.
Ariel, 28, a marketing executive from New York City, N.Y.
Brooklyn, 25, a rodeo racer from Stillwater, Okla.
Charity, 26, a child and family therapist from Columbus, Ga.
Davia, 25, a marketing manager from Charleston, S.C.
Gabriella “Gabi,” 25, an account executive from Pittsford, Vt.
Genevie, 26, a neonatal nurse from Baltimore City, Md.
Greer, 24, a medical sales rep from Houston, Texas. — First Impression Rose
Jessica “Jess,” 23, an e-commerce coordinator from Winter Springs, Fla.
Kaitlyn “Kaity,” 27, an ER nurse from Austin, Texas.
Katherine, 26, a registered nurse from Tampa, Fla.
Kylee, 25, a postpartum nurse from Charlotte, N.C.
Mercedes, 24, a nonprofit owner from Bloomfield, Iowa

Paramount Networks

While sources at Paramount Network denied it to the trade, Deadline reports Kevin Costner is seeking to ride off into the sunset when it comes to Yellowstone.

Deadline reports Costner, who plays series patriarch John Dutton, has issues with the shooting schedule of the Taylor Sheridan-created series, and his decreasing availability was “causing morale problems for the other stars of the show, which includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille and Gil Birmingham.”

What’s more, the trade insists not only could a compromise not be struck with the Oscar winner, who recently received a Golden Globe for his work on the series, but that the network is looking to continue the Dutton saga in another form with another Oscar winner, Matthew McConaughey, at the helm.

However, a Paramount Network source replied to the trade that there’s “no news to report.”

The source continued, “Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built.”

However, the spokesperson added, “Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner.”

(SPOILERS) On Sunday night, Paramount+’s Yellowstone prequel 1923 returned. Fans have been gearing up for World War 1 vet-turned-big game hunter Spencer Dutton to return to the States to get some revenge against the baddies that shot up his family and are threatening their ranch.

As if going one-on-one against man-eating animals wasn’t enough to convince viewers how hardcore Spencer is, Helen Mirren‘s character, Cara Dutton, warned the villains in the prior episode, “I cannot wait for you to meet my nephew.”

When one snarks he’s met him and “isn’t impressed,” Cara replies slyly, “Not this one.”

That line wasn’t lost on Brandon Sklenar, who plays the swashbuckling adventurer.

“I obviously had read that in the script, but then when I watched the episode for the first time, even I was kind of I was like, ‘Oh, damn. All right, well, I better come in hot,'” he says with a laugh to ABC Audio. “Yeah, really setting the stage there, Aunt Cara.”

Sklenar continues, “It just, from an audience standpoint … it’s very cool.” He adds, “He’s got a lot to fight for and redemption and his love for his family, which is so incredibly strong. And you really see that as this progresses, just how deep that … well goes.”

However, getting from Africa to Montana in 1923 isn’t as easy as today: Viewers saw Spencer and his new bride, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), facing a perilous sea voyage before getting home — and the cliffhanger episode ending won’t be resolved until February 12.
