(NOTE LANGUAGE) New Girl, the beloved Fox sitcom that ran from 2011 to 2018, has found a new place to crash.

Peacock has announced that all seven seasons of the show, which starred Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone, Lamorne Morris, Damon Wayans Jr. and Megan Fox, are now available for streaming.

To promote the new addition, the network released a fake “Roommates Wanted” ad, noting that the “desired qualities” included “Must be willing to help with pranks,” “always have change at hand to contribute to the d*****bag jar,” and of course, “Must give a cookie if I got you a cookie” — all callbacks to the offbeat show.

Oh, “dealbreakers” include “Doesn’t like cats” and “doesn’t like Dirty Dancing.”

Oh, and rent is a reasonable $4.99 a month — which is, not coincidentally, Peacock’s subscription price.

Meanwhile, in a new chat with WSJ. Magazine, Zooey expressed of a potential New Girl reboot, “It kind of depends on the circumstance. I wouldn’t want to spend the rest of my life doing reboots, but I definitely had a wonderful time and would be very happy to revisit.”

Rovio — Paramount Pictures

SEGA, the company that created Sonic the Hedgehog, has acquired Rovio, the company behind the Angry Birds phenomenon, in a deal worth $775 million.

That’s a lot of gold rings.

In a statement, Rovio CEO Alexandre Pelletier-Normand enthused, “I grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog, captivated by its state-of-the-art design. Later, when I played Angry Birds for the first time, I knew that gaming had evolved into a true mainstream phenomenon, with the power to shape modern culture.”

What began as a mobile game in 2009, Angry Birds has since spawned a franchise of some 30 games, an animated series, a pair of feature films in 2016, and 2019, respectively, and scads of merchandise.

Sony Pictures is releasing The Angry Birds Movie 3: Tropi-Collapse in 2024.

For his part, Sonic became a movie star in 2020, and a sequel was released two years later. His next big screen bow is set for December 20, 2024 from Paramount Pictures — and don’t be surprised if his new angry avian co-workers make an appearance.

Dreams do come true!

That’s what Kim Kardashian captioned a video of her daughter, North West, joining Katy Perry onstage during a show at her Las Vegas residency over the weekend. Like a proud mama, The Kardashians star chronicled the entire experience on her Instagram Stories.

In one clip, where the duo is onstage, Katy says to North, “So the reason I know your name is because I’m a huge fan of your TikTok.”

“I’ve seen a couple of them that you’ve made, she continues. “You’re a really good dancer, and I thought what better way to be a great dancer [than] to show the world your awesome dance moves?”

North then asks if her friends can join to which Katy replies, “She’s got friends, she doesn’t wanna do it alone. This is awesome.”

Katy, North, and three of her friends, then proceed to have a mini dance session onstage.

Kim and North weren’t the only celebs to visit Katy’s show. The “Daisies” singer took to Instagram to share some snapshots from the show, revealing that Sia and Paris Hilton were also in attendance.

“Love when my girlies come out to #PLAY,” she captioned the post.

Oscar winner Jamie Foxx continues to recover from the mysterious medical emergency that left him hospitalized last week, People is reporting.

While reps for the star have been mum, a source tells the magazine that Foxx is “steadily improving.”

The Ray star had been nearing the end of production on his Netflix action comedy Back in Action with co-star Cameron Diaz, when according to his daughter Corinne last Tuesday, the 55-year-old experienced a “medical complication.”

Explaining he was “recovering,” Corinne’s message added, “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy at this time.”

Production on the movie, for which Foxx lured Diaz out of retirement, was temporarily halted after the emergency, according to TMZ, which noted things got rolling again on Thursday. While Foxx remains in the hospital for testing, his stunt double was called in to shoot in his place, according to photos of the stand-in posted on the gossip site.

In Brief: Netflix’s live ‘Love Is Blind’ hits a tech snag, and more

Netflix’s live telecast of the Love Is Blind reunion hit a snag on Sunday when, instead of the show, set to begin at 8 p.m. ET, viewers saw an error message that read, “Pardon the interruption. We’re having trouble playing Netflix. Please check your internet and try again.” Almost 90 minutes after the broadcast was to start, Netflix’s Twitter account apologized for the goof. The show eventually did get up and running, but was no longer a live event. The event marked the streamer’s second live telecast, following its successful live stream of Chris Rock‘s standup comedy special, Selective Outrage. Next year, Netflix will stream the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony, marking the first major awards show to broadcast on a streaming service…

On Sunday night, the curtain fell on Broadway’s longest-running show: Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s The Phantom of the Opera closed after more than 35 years. Since opening on Broadway in January of 1988, Phantom has played almost 14,000 performances to over 20 million theatergoers, while grossing over $1.3 billion…

Bryan Cranston clarified comments he made on Dax Shepard’s recent Armchair Expert podcast in which he ruled out a third season for Showtime’s Your Honor. The Breaking Bad Emmy winner tells Deadline, “Showtime has indicated there is interest.” Adds Cranston, “If it happens, fantastic, but it’d have to be some great reason to keep expanding in this world and to find out where the allegiances are.” Cranston plays Judge Michael Desiato, whose son, Adam — portrayed by Hunter Doohan — died in the season 2 finale. Cranston says he would only return if season 3 truly explored a father grieving the loss of his son…

Oscar nominee Ana de Armas hosted this weekend’s Saturday Night Live and used her opening monologue to talk about her Cuban roots, as well as her experience coming to the United States.

After thanking the audience in Spanish, the 34-year-old Blonde actress shared, “I do speak English, but I didn’t when I first got to the U.S. I was born in Cuba. I came to America when I was 26, and I learned English the way everyone who comes to this country does: by watching Friends.”

“Who would have thought that the best English tutor would be Chandler Bing?” De Armas joked. “I mean look at me now; could I be any better at English?” — a reference to the catchphrase popularized by Matthew Perry‘s character on the show.

Saturday’s musical guest was Karol G, who performed “Mientras Me Curo Del Cora” and “Tus Gafitas” from her latest album, Mañana Será Bonito.

De Armas will next be seen in the Apple TV+ film Ghosted, opposite Chris Evans. It opens April 21.

Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood turns 93 in May, but the Unforgiven director and star is saddling up for his final movie as director.

Deadline reports his last movie, Juror #2, could star Nicholas Hoult — who is about to sink his teeth into theaters with the vampire film Renfield — and Oscar-nominated The Sixth Sense lead Toni Collette. The actors are in negotiations, but Hoult would play the titular character and Collette the prosecutor.

According to the trade, the movie centers on a juror who realizes during a trial that the accused is innocent — because he’s the one who killed the victim in a reckless driving accident.

Eastwood has received 11 Oscar nominations in his long career, four for Best Director, and racked up two wins, for Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby.

Super ‘Mario’: Movie crosses $508 million worldwide

Universal

The Super Mario Bros. Movie only came out last week, but the movie has already crossed a major milestone.

Variety reports the film, which stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Charlie Day and Anya Taylor-Joy, has made more than $508 million worldwide in theaters: $260.3 million domestically and $248.4 million overseas.

That means it’s already the biggest video game adaptation to ever hit theaters.

Super Mario has not only been declared ticket retailer Fandango’s top-selling movie of this year, but it’s also the highest-grossing movie to be released in 2023, besting Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

That Marvel Studios film was dogged with meh reviews from fans — unlike Mario, which boasts a 96% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes — and petered out in theaters after making more than $474 million worldwide. By comparison, its predecessor, Ant-Man and the Wasp, cleared more than $622 million globally.

Ryan Seacrest celebrated his last day as co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan on Friday in an episode filled with memories from his six years on the show.

Kelly Ripa delivered a tear-jerking speech in which she told Seacrest what he means to her.

“This has without question been the fastest six years of my life,” Ripa said. “Although you and I have been friends for decades and decades, I feel like I have gained through this process a younger brother/older son. That’s how I feel about you. It’s the weirdest feeling.”

Ripa gushed about Seacrest’s “goodness, kind[ness], charm, brilliance, authenticity and generosity” in her speech, getting teary-eyed but getting a few laughs in.

“We reserve the right as a company to troll you on all social media platforms and we will all keep our same mailing addresses in case there is ever a wedding invitation, just in case,” she joked.

Kelly closed her comments saying, “We will only say see you soon. I love you.”

Ryan delivered a farewell speech of his own, opening up about what a “lucky man” he is, and what Ripa and the show have meant to him.

Seacrest said in part, “I’ve spent my entire career talking — talking on the radio, talking on television … but today it’s hard to put into words how deeply I’ve appreciated being here and being with you, being invited into your homes every day to try and deliver a smile or a laugh or two.”

Ryan joked he will “relish those memories and relive those memories forever.”

Seacrest announced in February that he was leaving Live to focus on hosting American Idol. He passed the baton — or, actually, the coffee mug — to Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, at the close of Friday’s show.
