Jonathan Majors’ alleged victim was granted a temporary order of protection on Thursday ahead of his scheduled May 8 court appearance for domestic violence charges.

“This is standard in cases such as this, and we consented because Mr. Majors wants nothing to do with the woman who assaulted him,” Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement to ABC.

A full temporary order of protection means that the two parties must not have any direct or third-party contact, which remains in effect until the next court date.

Chaudry insisted, “We have been transparent and cooperative with the District Attorney, including giving the District Attorney ample evidence, including witness statements, of Mr. Majors’ innocence.”

The statement continued, “In fact, we recently provided a forensic medical opinion from a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Doctor and Trauma Specialist who has examined the photos and videos of the woman and concludes, without hesitation, that the woman did not have any injuries at the nightclub and the injuries she later sustained did not come from Mr. Majors (and could not have come from the way the woman described). In fact, the forensic medical expert’s opinion shows that the woman is lying.”

Majors was arrested in New York on March 25 and charged with assault and harassment following an alleged domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. New York police responded to a 911 call and took Majors into custody. The unnamed victim was hospitalized with “minor injuries to her head and neck,” according to authorities.

Following his arrest, multiple women have come forward with abuse allegations and are cooperating with the Manhattan District Attorney, according to Variety.

James Corden took his final bow as the host of The Late Late Show on Thursday night, with a little help from Harry Styles and Will Ferrell

Corden, who’s hosted the show since 2015, went out with a star-studded bang with bits that included fellow late night hosts Jimmy KimmelSeth MeyersStephen ColbertJimmy FallonDavid Letterman, and Trevor Noah.

There was even a video message from President Joe Biden, who teased, “I’m surprised you lasted eight years.”

“Special thanks for never asking me to sing in the car. I can’t sing worth a damn,” he added. “We’ll miss ya pal. I can’t wait to see what you do next.”

Next, Ferrell and Styles joined Corden on-stage and the trio played “Spill Your Guts,” a game where each person is asked a question. If they refuse to answer they have to eat some weird concoction like bug trifle, bulls penis, or a clam juice smoothie.

For Styles question, he was asked what all One Direction fans want the answer to — Will the band ever reunite?

“I would never say never to that,” he replied. “I think if there was a time where we all felt like that was what we wanted to do, then I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”

Towards the end of the show, Corden thanked viewers and everyone who has worked on the show.

“I have struggled to find the words to sum up what this past 8 years has meant to me … but I sit here now tonight with nothing but love, gratitude, and pride. This show is everything it’s everything I’ve ever wanted it to be,” he said holding back tears.

In true Corden fashion, though, the official end saw the host behind a piano as he sang a farewell song.

Tom Cruise just can’t wait to get back to the movies.

The star and producer of one of the biggest hits of 2022, Top Gun: Maverick, sent a message to attendees at the CinemaCon confab in Las Vegas Thursday that another huge movie he produced, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, will come to theaters two days earlier than previously announced.

It now will open July 12.

Along with the news, the trade says Cruise gave his blessing to show off 20 minutes of the forthcoming film, a massive chase scene that sees Tom and co-star Hayley Atwell handcuffed together, with Guardians of the Galaxy veteran Pom Klementieff as an assassin in pursuit.

As reported, recurring M:I players Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett and Rebecca Ferguson also star, as does original Impossible heavy Henry Czerny.

Also directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Dead Reckoning Part Two is slated for a June 28, 2024, release — unless Tom decides to bump that up, too.

With his final Late Late Show airing Thursday evening, James Corden is looking back.

To Deadline, the English Tony winner turned American talk show host said, “The nature of our show is we really want to go out with a bang. We want to go out in the same manner that we came in.”

He quipped, “It’s like my theory about on-set catering; people only really remember the first and last day’s food. That might apply to talk shows as well.”

The “way [they] came in” was a debut episode that featured Tom Hanks recapping his entire filmography, in the first installment of what became a recurring bit, as well as appearances from Chris Rock and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Officially, Harry Styles and Will Ferrell will be the final guests on The Late Late Show, which will be preceded on CBS by a Carpool Karaoke special that will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

That said, it’s safe to say there will be some celebrity surprises in store.

Corden said to the trade about the show’s Emmy-winning, eight-year run, “I can’t believe that this was ever anything that I got to do and I felt that the whole way.”

He adds, “I have nothing but love and gratitude for all of it. I’m from High Wycombe. The frame of my face doesn’t look like one that should be hosting [a] television show in any way, and if it was, it would probably be late-night sports.”

Corden summed it up by saying, “The overwhelming thing I feel is I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve such memories.”

Pete Davidson, his real-life mom, Amy, and his TV mom, Edie Falco, from his upcoming series Bupkis are featured in a new Mother’s Day issue of Good Housekeeping.

In fact, one of the covers has “Good” scratched out, with “Bad” in its place.

Both of Pete’s moms shared their favorite Mother’s Day memories, with Amy enthusing that Pete once “outdid himself” and made her an entire croquembouche, a tower of cream puffs. “It was … how I knew my little boy had something special, if this was what he could pull off when he focused his love and energy.”

Davidson said, “Mother’s Day is an important holiday in my household. We’re a close family, and growing up, my sister and I always tried to make things special, although I wasn’t always good at it. I’m pretty sure I bought her the same Britney Spears perfume eight years in a row.”

Amy added, “I never wore it, but I always appreciated it.”

Falco expressed, “When my kids were very little, they decided to have my breakfast waiting for me when I came downstairs in the morning. It was dinosaur oatmeal … Now, they were little, so … they also didn’t quite know the difference between the salt and the sugar, so it wasn’t the best cup of coffee I ever tasted, but they won some serious points for adorableness.”

Amy also said getting to appear on the Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live every year during Pete’s run was her favorite gift, adding, “I got to meet Benedict Cumberbatch! And Jack White! We talked for over an hour. We’re friends now.”

Pete replied, “No, you’re not. And that wasn’t Jack White.”

Whoever it was, they all apparently played miniature golf together, according to Amy.

Bupkis debuts on Peacock May 4.

Now that Rihanna is a soon-to-be mother of two, it’s no wonder she wants to take on a family-friendly project.

The superstar will play Smurfette in an upcoming animated Smurfs film, it was announced Thursday at CinemaCon, the Las Vegas convention for movie theater owners. And that’s not all: Rihanna will also be a producer on the movie, which is currently being called Untitled Smurfs Animated Film, and write and perform original music for the project.

According to Variety, Rihanna appeared onstage to talk to the convention attendees and joked, “I tried to get the Papa Smurf role but it didn’t work out.” The pregnant singer, who’s expecting her second child, also confirmed she’s in her third trimester.

Paramount Pictures/Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins told the crowd, “With Rihanna’s singular creative appeal and musical talents, there is an enormous opportunity to elevate the cultural touchstone of The Smurfs universe in a way that’s never been done before.”

Back in 2011, a movie called The Smurfs, a 3D combination of live action and animation, hit theaters.  Coincidentally, it starred Rihanna’s pal Katy Perry in the role of Smurfette. The cast also included Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Sofia Vergara and George Lopez.

Bob Odenkirk saved Carol Burnett from an untimely death on ‘Better Call Saul’

Carol Burnett owes her life — or at least her Better Call Saul character’s life — to series star Bob Odenkirk.

Burnett, who joined the sixth and final season of AMC’s Breaking Bad prequel, played Marion, the mother of Pat Healy‘s Jeff, who recognizes Saul from his days in Albuquerque. The penultimate episode, titled “Waterworks,” ends with Marion recognizing Saul before calling the police and Saul making a run for it.

“Carol, there’s something that you should know,” Odenkirk told the audience during Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love on NBC Wednesday night. “[Series creator Vince Gilligan] wanted my character to kill you in that scene. Look at him, he’s shaking his head. His exact words to me were, ‘Saul ends up killing Carol Burnett.’ And if I remember correctly, he didn’t say, ‘Kill Carol’s character,’ he said, ‘Kill Carol Burnett.’ But I refused, and I told him I’d walk.”

“I was willing to risk my career and never working in this town again. Because I didn’t want little children who watched our show — and I hope many of them did — to see me on the street and say, ‘Mommy, that’s the man who killed Carol Burnett,'” he joked. “That’s all I wanted to say. That I’m your real friend and Vince is not. And one more thing, Vince and I, and everybody on our show, we think you’re the greatest.”
