Michael J. Fox doesn’t think his beloved Back to the Future films should be remade, but in a conversation with Variety, the actor joked, “I’m not fanatical. Do what you want. It’s your movie. I got paid already.”

That said, Fox expresses, “I don’t think it needs to be.”

The Emmy-winning actor and Parkinson’s advocate explains the trilogy’s director, Robert Zemeckis, and co-writer Bob Gale are fiercely protective of the franchise. Fox added, “I think Bob and Bob have been really smart about that. I don’t think it needs rebooting because are you going to clarify something? You’re going to find a better way to tell the story? I doubt it.”

Fox also addressed that at some point, he’s “sure somebody thought about” a fourth film in the BTTF franchise, but allows, “But I was in the early stages of Parkinson’s at that point, so I don’t know that I would have wanted to take that on. Right after [1990’s] Part III had done well, there might have been conversations about it, but I never got involved in them.”

Fox announces new Jamie and Corinne Foxx competition show; Execs “wish Jamie well on his recovery”

In what was seen as a surprise considering recent headlines about the Oscar winner, Fox on Monday morning announced plans for a new show starring Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne.

The announcement was made on a conference call ahead of the network’s upfront presentation taking place later in the day.

We Are Family is “an all-new music guessing game show hosted and executive-produced by Jamie Foxx and co-hosted by his daughter, Corinne Foxx,” the network noted.

“Showcasing non-famous relatives of celebrities performing duets with their hidden famous family member, We Are Family will feature a studio audience entirely comprised of 100 contestants playing through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay to win up to $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed,” Fox described.

That said, CEO of Fox Entertainment Rob Wade told ABC Audio the project had been in the works for “over a year,” and both the production of the show, as well as the Foxx’s return to Beat Shazam, will take place when Jamie is ready, following what Corinne called a “medical complication.”

Wade explained Nick Cannon took over hosting duties on the “summer session” of Beat Shazam, though intimated that at some point, Jamie and Corinne would return, and would be able to work on both shows. “We wish Jamie well on his recovery,” Wade concluded.

Corinne made headlines last week when she announced on Instagram that her famous father had been “out of the hospital for weeks” — which came as a surprise to many, as his famous friends had been calling for prayers on social media following his health scare that landed him in an Atlanta, Georgia hospital on April 11, and sidelined him from the Netflix action comedy Back In Action.

Former Bachelor star Colton Underwood has tied the knot with his partner Jordan C. Brown.

On Saturday, the 31-year-old reality star and 38-year-old political strategist exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in front of 200 guests at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, according to People.

The three-day celebration included a welcome party and family dinner on Friday and a disco-themed pool party on the day of the ceremony.

The couple wore custom Tom Ford suits, with Underwood in deep green and Brown in blue to complement the natural setting of their wedding. The pair exchanged personal vows and rings before celebrating with friends and family at the reception, where the newlyweds shared their first dance to “The Good Ones” by Gabby Barrett and guests dined family-style on a variety of dishes and enjoyed specialty cocktails.

As a tribute to the LGBTQ+ community, the couple designed a photo display and love letters from queer people in the 18th and 19th centuries that were forbidden or had to send in secret.

“It’s inspired from a coffee table book that I was gifted after I came out called Loving and it’s images of men in love throughout history,” Underwood explained. “We blew them up and put them on canvases and set them around the resort. Next to them will be love letters from queer people in the 18th and 19th century that were forbidden or they had to send in secret.”

Brown added, “It’s really cool. It helps us to pay tribute to the people who paved the way for all same-sex couples who now can get married.”

Underwood and Brown first met at a party in Los Angeles in April 2021 and got engaged in Feb. 2022.

A Goblin is reportedly joining the self-described “ghost with the most.” The Hollywood Reporter says Willem Dafoe, recently seen reprising as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home, will appear in Beetlejuice 2 for director Tim Burton.

As the trade reported, Burton’s Wednesday star Jenna Ortega will lead the follow-up to the 1988 supernatural comedy classic, with Michael Keaton reprising as the titular human-haunting demon and Winona Ryder again playing Lydia Deetz, now a mom to Ortega’s character.

THR also reports Schitt’s Creek Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara, who played Lydia’s snobby mom in the original, will return for the movie, which will also star White House Plumbers lead Justin Theroux and The Matrix: Reloaded‘s Monica Bellucci.

The Warner Bros. film, co-produced by Brad Pitt‘s Plan B company, will be released September 6, 2024.

While pro athletes have been using ice baths for years to tamp down inflammation and injury, dunking yourself in a tank of icy water has of late become an obsession among the celebrity set.

Stars from Kim Kardashian to Chris Hemsworth have been all over social media extolling the fitness benefits of the teeth-chattering plunges.

However, that’s old news to survival expert Bear Grylls. When he wasn’t swimming in icy rivers during his career as a British Special Forces soldier — or as part of his hit Nat Geo show Running Wild with Bear Grylls — he was doing it for his own health, he tells ABC Audio.

“I say it with pride, but I’ve been doing it for decades,” he says with a laugh. “My wife goes, ‘Oh, everybody [is] doing wild swimming in cold water now.’ But I go, ‘Do you know what, that’s great. It’s great. It’s proven to be good for you.'”

He adds, “And I think half of it is doing stuff that is challenging, it’s difficult, it’s going to be good for you. It’s why I’ve always loved the outdoors. It builds us. It’s not always fun being cold and tired and scared and wet and hungry. But you come through those storms and they don’t last forever.”

Bear will be back on TV on May 18, in TBS’ I Survived Bear Grylls, in which he puts viewers of his past shows through their paces in simulated survival situations.

12 Fast 12 Furious? Vin Diesel says ‘Fast’ movies won’t end with 11 after all

In a surprise, Vin Diesel let slip during a red carpet interview that the already long-lived Fast and Furious franchise will not end with an upcoming 11th installment.

The series that began in 2001, the year Apple released the iPod, for reference, was thought to have been wrapping up with the 2024 installment, but Dom Torretto’s alter ego just said at the Fast X premiere in Rome that might not be the case any longer.

“Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Vin told Universal Pictures’ red carpet host Nat Perez. “And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?'” he said.

Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Dom’s ride-or-die-but-resurrected Letty, reportedly added, “It’s three acts in any story.”

When Perez realized what Vin said, she pushed him for details, only to have him say, “You’re gonna get me in trouble” and escort Rodriguez from the mic.

ABC Audio has reached out to Universal Pictures for comment. Until then, Fast X — so far, officially the penultimate movie in the saga — opens May 19.

Smells like $20 million: Johnny Depp sets record for biggest perfume payday with Dior deal

Johnny Depp and Dior are staying in business together, in a deal Variety says is a record for a fragrance endorsement.

Dior is reportedly re-upping his contract with the star, to whom the brand stayed loyal through his messy, headline-making divorce and subsequent defamation battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, to the tune of $20 million.

The trade notes the three-year deal, which will have him keep pitching his Sauvage cologne, dwarfs the previous record-holder, Robert Pattinson, who reportedly got $12 million to pitch Dior Homme.

Similar celebrity scent-related deals usually only net in the six-figure range, like Brad Pitt‘s $7 million Chanel No. 5 deal, Variety explains.

Depp’s fanbase is deep: As reported last year, sales of Sauvage went through the roof during last year’s defamation case, as fans’ way of showing support to the star.

Playing Mantis: Pom Klementieff on her “weird” character, the “glue” that holds the Guardians of the Galaxy together

Model and actress Pom Klementieff has played Mantis, the quirky alien empath in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

But in a universe full of hammer-wielding gods and iron men, Mantis’ unique power stems from her empathy. However, she’s not to be trifled with: She was strong enough to put Thanos to sleep in Avengers: Infinity War, in a nearly successful attempt to steal back the Infinity Stones from the Mad Titan.

She reprises in Guardians Vol. 3. “You know, she’s an empath … so you have to have a deeper connection with everything and everyone. So it’s beautiful to tap into deep, profound and layered emotions,” she expresses.

Pom adds of the misfits, “I think, like, each character complete[s] each other, too. You know, I remember [writer/director] James [Gunn] telling me that Mantis was kind of like the glue that kept the Guardians together in some ways, you know? And … I think it’s beautiful. And I think, you know, the world lacks a lot of empathy too, you know?”

She calls Mantis a “beautiful message” about the might of empathy.

That said, playing the character — who helped kidnap Kevin Bacon in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special — is a lot of fun.

“I got to be super weird, which is really fun to do. And it comes naturally to me,” she says with a laugh.

A self-described adrenaline junkie in real life, Pom has more than 100 skydives under her belt. Her skill set no doubt served her well in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning opposite another actor-stuntman, Tom Cruise.

Vol. 3 is currently the number one movie in the world. Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
