The Peabody Awards has scrapped this year’s ceremony due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

“As an organization dedicated to honoring the most compelling and empowering stories in broadcasting and streaming media, we recognize and respect the position that many of this year’s Peabody Award winners find themselves in,” the organization said in a statement on Monday.

“Due to the ongoing uncertainty and meaningful challenges that exist industrywide, we have decided to cancel the 83rd annual Peabody Awards ceremony that was set to take place on June 11 in Los Angeles,” the statement continued. “Canceling the ceremony is extremely disappointing, as this year’s 39 winners are immensely talented and have brought forth powerful stories that deserve to be celebrated.”

The event, set for Sunday, June 11 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles, would have been the first in-person ceremony since 2019 — before the COVID-19 pandemic — and the first time the event will be held in Los Angeles.

Abbott Elementary, Andor, Atlanta, Bad Sisters, Better Call Saul, Los Espookys, Mo, Pachinko, Severance and We’re Here were the entertainment programs announced as this year’s winners.

Megan Fox is getting deep and personal about her journey towards self-acceptance and body image issues.

In a candid interview with Sports Illustratedthe 37-year-old actress, one of this year’s cover models, revealed her battle with body dysmorphia, expressing that she never truly sees herself the way others do.

“There is never a point in my life where I loved my body, ever ever,” she said.

Reflecting on her childhood, Fox shared how her obsession with conforming to societal beauty standards began at a young age.

As for why she had such an awareness of her body as a child, the actress couldn’t quite pinpoint the reason, but explained, “It definitely wasn’t environmental because I grew up in a very religious environment where bodies weren’t even acknowledged.”

Fox went on to share that she believes the “journey” to loving herself will be “never-ending” and while she understands physical appearance is the first thing people see, she wishes people noticed something else about her.

“I wish everyone noticed my aura,” she said. “Because I have a rainbow Aura and it’s special.”

Alongside Kim Petras, Martha Stewart, and Brooks Nader, Fox will grace the cover of the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, hitting newsstands on May 18th.

Warner Bros. Television

The show Friends is still getting laughs on syndication and on streaming, but thanks to an Italian couple — and artificial intelligence wizardry — it’s now inspiring a new viral art collection.

Luca and Anna Allievi are the people behind the Instagram account the_ai_dreams, which was already popular for using AI to de-age celebrities to toddlers.

The project they started for fun has now taken a look at the Friends friends, reimagining Jennifer Aniston‘s Rachel Green, Matthew Perry‘s Chandler Bing, David Schwimmer‘s Ross Gellar, Courteney Cox‘s Monica Gellar, Lisa Kudrow‘s Phoebe Buffay and Matt LeBlanc‘s Joey Tribbiani as cute little tykes.

To come up with the pictures, the couple used the software Midjourney, which, as reported, was recently used to produce photos of what historical figures would have looked like throwing up selfies.

The full season 2 trailer of the hit FX series The Bear has finally dropped, and it shows some delicious new dishes.

The two-minute trailer starts inside the now-newspaper-covered windows of The Original Beef of Chicagoland, where Golden Globe winner Jeremy Allen White‘s character, Carmy — the chef and restaurateur protagonist — has set out to “start fresh and clean.”

As the trailer begins, set to AC/DC‘s “If You Want Blood,” we see shots full of restaurant renovations, sizzling steaks basted in bubbling butter, whisking egg yolks into an emulsion, plating up cast iron seared radicchio with rosemary and citrus, and circling important dates on the calendar as they have six months to open the new restaurant with a “chaos menu” concept.

When the music fades and switches to “Strange Currencies” by R.E.M., Carmy is seen in therapy saying, “I’m trying to start from a place of positivity.” The shot shifts to bao buns on the flat top and Sydney, played by Ayo Edebiri, taking a bite of luxuriously long — presumably hand-pulled — noodles.

Two of the kitchen’s longtime cooks from season 1 are seen anxiously heading into culinary school as Sydney sits down to interview some new faces.

All episodes of the new season begin streaming June 22.

At 81, Martha Stewart is gracing one of the new covers of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, becoming the first octogenarian to do so.

The photos were shot by famed photographer Ruven Afanador in the Dominican Republic.

The homemaking icon also participated in a “making of” video, in which the former model explained, “This time I was motivated by showing people my age can still look good, feel good, be good.”

It is, to quote her catchphrase, “a good thing.”

She also said, “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, well, that’s pretty good!’ I’m gonna be the oldest person I think ever on the cover. And I don’t think about age very much but I thought that this is kind of historic and I better look really good.”

This year’s issue also includes cover stars Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader, among its other pin-ups.

SI Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day said in a statement, “Martha Stewart is a legend. The definition of a great female entrepreneur who built a dynasty against insurmountable odds.”

Day continued, adding of the celebrity cover stars, “These women, alongside our other models, refuse to allow themselves to be limited by existing societal norms and are incredible examples on how to harness talent, passion, persistence, perseverance, fortitude, curiosity and unabashed desire to evolve.”

Will Poulter was the new kid on the block in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, both figuratively and nearly literally. His genetically engineered character, baddie Adam Warlock, is incredibly powerful, but also described as being a “child,” because he was taken out of his birthing pod too soon.

The English actor admits he was scared to join writer-director James Gunn‘s final Guardians movie, seeing how he was such a fan of the first two Marvel Studios films — and how Gunn’s band of misfits became like a family on screen and off. However, he explains, “I couldn’t have been … made to feel more welcome.”

He continues, “I was nervous from the outside looking in, I think because I was a really big fan of the Guardians movies and within the Marvel Universe, this was the trilogy, as it now is, of films that I was kind of the biggest admirer of. And so you look at something as a fan, and you think that’s cool to be able to appreciate that as a fan … You don’t imagine yourself being a part of it.”

Poulter continues, “Something that I thought was gonna be really, really scary, actually, has just been really good fun. You know, I think because of what James said, you know, he makes a point of making a really fun environment, you know, surrounds himself with really great people … And it just made the experience so, so fun, which is, like, really important because it’s this pressure. And, you know, as a new kid, I was pretty scared. So that made it easy.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 had a stand-up #1 second weekend in theaters both here and overseas, Rocket-ing to a $529 million take worldwide.
