Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix has joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars season 32.

Madix and DWTS judge Derek Hough announced the news Friday on Good Morning America.

The actress and reality star is the first celebrity revealed for the upcoming season, which will air this fall.

Fans will have to wait a little while before learning who will compete alongside Madix on the upcoming season of DWTS, as the full cast will be revealed Sept. 13 on GMA.

Madix first joined Vanderpump Rules in season 2 and has been a main cast member since season 3.

During the 10th season of Vanderpump Rules, which aired earlier this year, Madix found herself at the center of the biggest scandal to rock the show, as it was revealed that her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, cheated on her with fellow cast member Raquel Leviss.

The fallout of this affair was instantly dubbed “Scandoval,” and Madix — already a fan-favorite — won the hearts of viewers all across America. The drama culminated in a heated three-part reunion.

As an actress, Madix got her start in CollegeHumor videos and has appeared on sitcoms like Dads, Anger Management and The Other Two. She has also starred in rapper Yung Gravy‘s “oops!” music video and is set to star in the upcoming Lifetime movie Buying Back My Daughter.

Together with Sandoval, Madix co-authored a cocktail book titled Fancy AF Cocktails: Drink Recipes from a Couple of Professional Drinkers in 2019 and is launching a sandwich shop with Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney.

Dancing with the Stars will air this fall on ABC and Disney+, and will stream the next day on Hulu.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

‘Barry’ alum Stephen Root explains why actors are ready to strike

Hollywood actors and studios are trying to come to a deal in order to avoid a strike — last week they extended talks until July 12. So what’s going to happen? Stephen Root, star of Barry and the upcoming Freeform animated comedy Praise Petey, and he tells ABC Audio he and others aren’t really sure.

“I think there was a better possibility of us walking had we not extended the, the time to July 12. I think that gives us a better time to see both sides and for them to negotiate a little more, but I think there’s still just as much a chance to strike as not,” he says.

One of the main things Root is fighting for is restructuring residuals, or payments actors and others get when a show is in reruns or on a streaming service.

“We started out Barry as an HBO show and had two years of regular residuals. And then it was thrown on to HBO Max, without, you know, anybody consulting us. And so our residuals went from here to here,” he explains.

“I’m fighting for the younger people … because when I got in it, you lived on residuals … And that doesn’t happen anymore because the networks are owning their own streaming services, throwing them onto there,” he continues. “It’s good for them. It’s not good for the actors and … for young actors learning how to do these roles.”

Adds Root, “I was able to do … Civil Wars and NYPD and a couple of other things … I felt like I could pay the rent for a couple of months. Then I did … Harts of the West … that I felt like, okay, I got enough in the bank to keep auditioning and trying for better things.”

Praise Petey premieres July 21 on Freeform.

Marvel Studios

(SPOILERS) With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 coming to digital platforms Friday, July 7, the website IGN has a sneak peek of one of the deleted scenes that fans will get to see.

The scene shows exactly what was supposed to happen to Chukwudi Iwuji‘s evil High Evolutionary. It’s left unclear at the end of the film — except that Bradley Cooper‘s Rocket Raccoon spares the life of the animal experimenter who tortured him and killed his cuddly friends in his youth.

However, the deleted scene shows a little turnabout: Rocket has imprisoned the battered, once god-like baddie, who held Rocket and a veritable Noah’s Ark of animals locked up as test subjects.

The animals, who Rocket frees, are also seen getting used to their new home, the Guardians’ HQ Knowhere.

Also worth a chuckle is Sean Gunn‘s Kraglin suggesting to Will Poulter‘s reformed Adam Warlock that “Adam” isn’t cool enough for his hero name. “Adam ain’t no hero name. You need something ‘metal,'” Kraglin advises.

Molly Hatchet, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, something cool like that,” Gunn offers, which would have allowed his music-loving writer-director brother James Gunn to flex even more ’70s and ’80s rock nostalgia.

FX on Hulu

Following show co-creator Sterlin Harjo‘s announcement that the acclaimed series was coming to an end, FX has dropped a trailer to the third and final season of Reservation Dogs.

Having reached California as a tribute to their fallen friend last season, the coming attraction shows the remaining pals, Indigenous teens, back to face the music after running away from their Oklahoma stomping grounds.

The end begins August 2 on Hulu.

As mentioned last week, Harjo thanked his cast, fellow co-creator Taika Waititi and fans for the show. “I always knew what the end of this story would be, I just didn’t know when it would arrive,” he noted. “As we continued to break stories and write scripts this season, it became clear to the producers, Taika and me that the season three finale is the perfect SERIES finale.”

Harjo said, “It has been a gift to us to show the world a different perspective of Indigenous people and our culture. Most important of all, it has been a dream to collaborate and make a show that is entirely written by, directed by and stars Native people.”

In a statement about the news, FX noted, “People throw around the words historic and groundbreaking far too often and without merit: Reservation Dogs is worthy of those superlatives.”

Harrison Ford roasts Conan O’Brien’s writing ‘Han Solo’ in podcast notes

Harrison Ford roasts Conan O’Brien’s writing ‘Han Solo’ in podcast notes
ABC

In a new installment of his Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, the former chat show host welcomed Harrison Ford by saying Ford was one of his favorite guests during his TV days — mostly because Ford verbally “tossed him around like a rag doll.”

The Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny star kept up the act in the new chat, which opened with Ford pretending not to remember previously meeting Conan and challenging his research on one of his most famous roles.

O’Brien broke the ice by talking about the big-screen icon’s “German/Irish” lineage, to which Ford took issue, noting his father was “Irish-Irish.”

Conan held up his notes, saying, “I refer you to this piece of paper right here that says born and raised in Chicago to an Irish/German father,” to which Ford jabbed dryly, “Well, if that’s the quality of your research.”

Ford then pressed him, after noting “Han Solo” was written in the notes, as well. “Right there it says ‘Harrison Ford,’ and then you had to write down ‘Han Solo.’ You can’t f****** remember that?!”

Conan countered, “Yeah, I wrote that down because I had heard you were in some of the Star Wars films and this was news to me because I’ve seen those films and I don’t exactly think you ‘pop,'” which elicited a mock shocked reaction from Ford.

The actor asked Conan, “How come you’re not still on television?” to which Conan said self-deprecatingly, “I think it’s quite obvious why I’m not still on television.”

Jenny McCarthy and Carmen Electra were two mainstays of the ’90s heyday of lad mags like Maxim, but, at respectively 50 and 51, they’re proving age is just a number.

The pair teamed up for a video photoshoot for Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS swimwear line.

Set, naturally, to Warrant‘s cheeky hot girl anthem “Cherry Pie,” Jenny and Carmen are seen against a red tile backdrop, sudsing up a vintage Ferrari — and themselves. Completing the video vamp look, an off-camera fan blows their hair while they do their thing.

“Everybody’s wearing SKIMS,” they voiceover in tandem.

“It’s a wet hot summer in @SKIMS Swim featuring me and my girl @carmenelectra,” McCarthy captioned her Instagram post.

If user comments are any indication, the promotion hit a bullseye with at least one targeted demographic. “Dammmm I thought that was from the 90s you both still look freaking fabulous,” read one dude’s reply to Jenny’s Instagram post.

“The two females that made me realize I had hit puberty watching singled out,” quoth another, referencing the MTV dating show on which the pair appeared back in the day.

“And on the 8th day God created Carmen Electra,” said one of her followers.

Amazon Studios has dropped the trailer to Red, White, and Royal Blue, the adaptation of Casey McQuiston‘s bestselling book.

Taylor Zakhar Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of Uma Thurman‘s President of the United States, who has a long-running feud with Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine).

When a very public tussle becomes tabloid fodder and chills international relations between the two powers, the pair are forced into a staged truce.

However, the closer they get, originally just for appearance’s sake, “the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected,” the streamer says.

The sparks fly August 11 on Prime Video.

Storm Reid and Taissa Farmiga — sister of The Conjuring series star Vera Farmiga — are nuns who run afoul of the evil titular being in the new trailer for The Nun II.

The 2018 original, set in 1952 and in the Conjuring universe, became the highest-grossing film in that $2 billion franchise, scaring up more than $352 million on a $22 million production budget.

Warner Bros. Pictures teases of the sequel, “1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading,” noting Taissa Farmiga’s “Sister Irene once again comes face to face with Valak, the demon nun.” Bonnie Aarons again plays the habit-wearing baddie, with Storm Reid playing a younger nun terrorized by the sinister sister.

“This demon was once an angel,” a priest explains. “Rejected by God. Stripped of power.”

Sister Irene says, “It wants that power back.”

Promising even more jump scares than its creepy preview, The Nun II opens in theaters September 7.
