Good Morning America

After a year and a half without a drink, Tom Holland calls sobriety “the best thing I’ve ever done.”

The 27-year-old Spider-Man: No Way Home star appeared on the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast, where he admitted his sobriety “journey” started after a particularly “boozy” holiday. “All I could think about was having a drink,” Tom expressed.

“I’ve always been able to drink a lot,” Tom admitted. However, he decided to give a dry January a go — and found it difficult.

“I was waking up thinking about it. I was checking the clock, ‘When’s it 12?’ And it just really scared me. ‘Wow, maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing,'” Holland expressed. He then decided to extend his dry spell.

Tom explained, “Two months go by and I was still really struggling…I felt I couldn’t go to the pub and have a lime soda. I couldn’t go out to dinner. I was really, really struggling. And I started to really worry that maybe I had an alcohol problem.”

The Crowded Room star then challenged himself to last until his birthday: “If I could go six months without alcohol, then I could prove to myself that I don’t have a problem,” he recalled thinking.

“By the time I had got to June first, I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” Holland said.

“I could sleep better. I could handle problems better. Things that would go wrong on set that would set me off, I could take in my stride,” Holland recalled. “I had such better mental clarity. I felt better. I felt fitter. And I just said to myself…’Why am I so obsessed with having this drink?'”

Holland said if his “own little journey” encourages someone “to drink less, then that’s great,” but he’s not going to preach.

Sportscaster and former Dancing with the Stars co-host Erin Andrews is a mom.

ABC News can confirm that the sportscaster and her husband, former NHL player Jarrett Stoll, recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy, via surrogate, following a years-long experience with infertility, which Andrews shared publicly.

In January, Andrews, 45, described her struggle with infertility as “one of the most challenging things” in her life, telling Us Weekly, “It’s not easy.”

Previously, in August 2021, Andrews posted a personal essay in which she publicly shared for the first time that she was undergoing in-vitro fertilization. At the time, she said she was on her seventh round of IVF.

In the IVF process, eggs are removed from a woman’s ovaries during egg retrieval and fertilized in a petri dish, where the fertilized egg cell begins to divide. The resulting embryo or embryos are eventually transferred back into the uterus to hopefully grow to a full-term pregnancy and live birth.

“This is my 7th one, and I’ve been going through these treatments since I was 35 years old,” she wrote. “I’m now 43, so my body is kind of stacked against me.”

“It’s a ton of money, it’s a ton of time, it’s a ton of mental and physical anguish. And more times than not, they’re unsuccessful,” she wrote of the IVF treatments. “I think that’s why a lot of people choose to be quiet about it.”

Around the world, nearly 1 in 6 people are affected by infertility in their lifetime, according to the World Health Organization.

Andrews is also a cervical cancer survivor. She was diagnosed in 2016 and underwent surgery, but did not require a hysterectomy, she told Good Morning America in 2018.

Christopher Nolan‘s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie are poised to go head-to-head at the box office on July 21, resulting in a unique phenomenon known as Barbenheimer.

The mash-up memes alone would be worth it — but AMC Theatres reports that over 20,000 tickets have already been sold to AMC Stubs members who plan to catch both films on the same day, according to Variety.

Elizabeth Frank, executive VP of worldwide programming and chief content officer at AMC Theatres, said in a statement, “That more than 20,000 moviegoers have already made plans and purchased tickets to see Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day is a great sign that the growing online conversation around seeing both of these incredible films is turning into ticket sales.”

Franks added, “Just as exciting, with 10 days to go until these movies open, this may only be the beginning. From Friday to today, we saw a 33% increase in the number of guests who decided to create their own double feature by purchasing tickets to see both movies on the same day. We are thrilled to see this momentum.”

While Barbie is predicted to lead in early ticket sales, Tom Cruise‘s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One could still snatch the top spot.

Incidentally, movie fan Cruise has also been hyping the Barbenheimer double-shot. On social media, he recently noted, “I love a double feature, and it doesn’t get more explosive (or more pink) than one with Oppenheimer and Barbie.”

To the Sydney Morning Herald, the superstar clarified, however, “I’ll see them opening weekend. Friday I’ll see Oppenheimer first and then Barbie on Saturday.”

‘The Bachelorette’ recap: Charity threatens to take back one suitor’s rose

Charity and her remaining suitors hit the road on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette. Destination: San Diego.

Unfortunately, a week of fun in the sun was spoiled by Brayden, whose penchant for speaking his mind once again nearly talked his way out of a rose, while stirring up more trouble in the house.

After a one-on-one date that saw the 24-year-old travel nurse — who resides in “America’s Finest City” — spend the day in Petco Park, home of baseball’s San Diego Padres, Charity picked Brayden to gain some clarity. Last week, he told the other men he felt “disrespected” and threatened to leave the competition after learning that Joey’s reward for winning a group date competition was sharing “the longest kiss in Bachelor Nation history” with Charity. After a private conversation with Brayden, Charity believed he deserved a chance to move forward.

After expressing doubts on Monday about whether he could go through with the competition knowing that she’s developing connections with other men as well as him, Brayden promised he’d “try his hardest” to move forward for her, even handing her a baseball on which he’d written, “You’re worth fighting for.”

That was good enough for Charity, who offered him the date rose.

However, Brayden would try her patience once again, this time telling several other suitors, including Aaron, that he wasn’t sure he could handle “getting engaged after just dating with 20 other dudes.”

When Aaron shared Brayden’s latest comment with Charity, she seriously considered doing something done only one other time in Bachelor Nation history — take back a rose.

That led to yet another tense conversation with Brayden, and once again, he managed to talk his way out of elimination.

Elsewhere, a Barbie-themed date ended with Dotun grabbing a rose. Later, a one-on-one date with Xavier at an amusement park, ended with a yawn — instead of a rose — as they struggled to have a conversation with each other and saw him admitting in a confessional that “amusement parks make me tired.”

At the rose ceremony, AaronAdrian and James were sent home.

Here are the other men remaining after the rose ceremony:

Aaron B., 29, a software salesman from San Diego, Calif.
Brayden, 24, a travel nurse from San Diego, Calif.
Caleb B., 24, a pro wrestler from Orlando, Fla.
Dotun, 30, an integrative medicine specialist from Brooklyn, N.Y.
John., 27, a data scientist from New York, N.Y.
Joseph “Joey,” 27, a tennis pro from Lawai, Hawaii.
Michael, 28, a yacht captain from Chicago, Ill.
Sean, 25, a software sales representative from Tampa, Fla.
Tanner, 30, a mortgage lender from Pittsburgh, Pa.
Xavier, 27, a biomedical scientist from Carrboro, N.C.

Ryan Gosling is the latest star to reveal a song in the Barbie film.

In a snippet of his song from the highly anticipated film from director Greta Gerwig, Gosling is seen belting out a song as Ken.

The clip begins with Gosling as Ken telling Barbie (Margot Robbie), “I just don’t know who I am without you … It’s Barbie and Ken. There is no ‘just Ken.'”

The video then goes into a clip of Ken in his feels with his power ballad, which includes lyrics that speak to some of the struggles he faces, including being “No. 2” to Barbie.

“Doesn’t seem to matter what I do/ I’m always No. 2/ no one knows how hard I try/ I have feelings that I can’t explain/ driving me insane/ all my life been so polite/ cause I’m just Ken/ anywhere else I’d be a 10,” he sings while wearing outrageous outfits, including a fur coat.

At the world premiere for the Barbie film Sunday in Los Angeles, producer Andrew Wyatt, who worked on the soundtrack, shared what it was like working on the film’s music.

“It was an honor to work with Greta and try to help her coalesce her vision for the film on the emotional side and really help tell the story of the transformation that the characters go through,” he told Good Morning America.

Wyatt, who said he enjoyed working on the “Ken” song in the film, said “people will be into the whole thing.”

Other artists on the film’s soundtrack include Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Ava Max, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice.

Barbie hits theaters on July 21.

Peacock released a trailer to Twisted Metal, the adaptation of the hit Sony Playstation video game series, on Monday — and it doesn’t watch its language.

Straight out of the gate, the series shows off its mature bona fides, with Anthony Mackie setting the scene: “Twenty years ago, the world fell to s***.”

His John Doe explains all criminals were kicked out of walled cities to keep the peace, “but there are humble mother******* like me, delivering packages from one walled city to another.”

His character, also known as the Milkman, is tasked by Neve Campbell‘s Raven with delivering something from New San Francisco to another location. “I can make your every wish come true. So, John, what do you wish for?”

“Toilet paper,” he whispers. “Two ply.” She laughs in response, saying, “I think we can do better than that,” to which a shocked John asks, “Three-ply?”

Mackie’s character is carjacked by Stephanie Beatriz‘s Quiet, and soon the pair hit the road together — through Las Vegas, the city ruled by Sweet Tooth, the bloodthirsty, ice cream-truck driving, clown-faced menace from the game.

Played by Joe Seanoa, a pro wrestler best known as Samoa Joe, the character is seen dispatching a room full of people, before giving a bloody thumbs-up to a fan who compliments his decapitation technique.

The show, which also stars Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church as a crooked lawman, debuts July 27 on Peacock.

In celebration of the second season of FX’s hit Hulu series The Bear, several cast members teamed up with Disney and Feeding America to make special visits to partner food banks in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, where they could provide nutritious food to people in need.

From stunning dishes by the fictitious Michelin-starred chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, to trials and tribulations inside the walls of a working kitchen, the show has given chefs and diners alike a chance to see food in a new light.

Four of the series’ stars — Liza Colón-Zayas, who plays sous chef Tina; Lionel Boyce, who plays the pastry chef Marcus; Chris Witaske, who plays Pete; and Corey Hendrix, who plays Gary — joined up with Disney and Feeding America to raise awareness about the increased need for children and families to gain access to nutritious food during the summer months when kids are out of school.

Colón-Zayas, who grew up in the projects of the Bronx, told Good Morning America that despite her parents’ best efforts to work to feed five kids, “it wasn’t enough.”

She said, “Sometimes we had to go to the community center to get our staples just to get through or rely on family members. These things matter, it makes all the difference. So I’m so grateful for all of you who are supporting programs like that, we need them.”

Boyce joined Witaske at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and said this “awesome” moment was the cherry on top for The Bear being able to help those in need of food assistance.

For over 10 years, Disney — the parent company of FX, Hulu and ABC News — has teamed up with Feeding America, and to date, has provided millions of meals to children and families in need of support.
