While Simon Cowell is the producer and resident tough judge on America’s Got Talent and its U.K. version, he’s worried about a soft spot for a potential hopeful: his 9-year-old son, Eric.

“[Eric] decided he’s going to audition for Britain’s Got Talent,” Simon tells Entertainment Tonight.

“I think he wants to be in a rock band. He loves Green Day,” Cowell says. “That’s going to be total torture.”

He added, “I mean, of all the things I’ve ever done, this will probably be the hardest, because he does play drums. [He’s] going to drum and sing! I went, ‘Oh God, no,'” adding the lad is “really serious about it.”

Simon says, “I don’t know what it is. Maybe because all these kids are auditioning and now he wants to be up there with his friends … I think, hopefully, he’ll be sitting there in 10 or less years’ time.”

That said, for now Eric is contributing to the show in his own way, by spectating near his famous dad. Simon calls him “a great barometer” for talent.

“[W]ith kids you can’t fake it, you know? If they like something, they like it. If they don’t like it, they’re bored,” Cowell says.

On Wednesday, August 30, independent movie company NEON released the teaser to Ferrari, the anticipated biopic about legendary supercar designer Enzo Ferrari, which was directed by Heat‘s Michael Mann.

Set in the summer of 1957, Adam Driver plays Enzo as he, his marriage, his legacy and his company are in crisis.

“Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura (Penelope Cruz) built from nothing ten years earlier,” the studio teases.

“Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi (Shailene Woodley). Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.”

The teaser, made up of silent vignettes of Enzo’s life in crisis — and of course some pulse-pounding racing scenes — has one line of dialogue at its close. “If you get into one of my cars, you get in to win,” Driver says.

Ferrari bet it all on the race, but 40 miles from the finish line, the Ferrari 335 S crewed by driver Alfonso de Portago and navigator Edmund Nelson blew a tire and smashed into a telephone pole, killing both men. The careening wreck fatally mowed down nine spectators. The 1957 race also claimed the life of another driver that same year, leading the Italian government to permanently ban the Mille Miglia.

The film speeds into theaters December 25.

On Wednesday, August 30, Bleecker Street Films released the trailer to What Happens Later, a later-in-life romantic comedy starring, co-written and directed by Meg Ryan.

When an airport delay forces a chance reunion of her character, Willa, with her ex, David Duchovny‘s Bill, the pair end up reminiscing about their lives before they broke up and in the decades since.

The return to the genre has some winks from Ryan: At one point, Bill charges his phone by casually unplugging a video poster for a movie called Rom-Com.

According to the studio, “Indefinitely delayed, Willa, a magical thinker, and Bill, a catastrophic one, find themselves just as attracted to and annoyed by one another as they did decades earlier.”

The description continues, “But as they unpack the riddle of their mutual past and compare their lives to the dreams they once shared, they begin to wonder if their reunion is mere coincidence, or something more enchanted.”

“You left, you let go,” Ryan reminisces. “When people break up, there’s the thing that they tell each other, and then there’s the truth.”

Bill counters, “I was in love with you, and I couldn’t turn that off like a switch.”

“I know,” she replies.

Passing the time while they’re stranded, the pair are seen capering around the empty airport.

She later asks him, “Have you ever wondered ‘What If?'”

“I had a good life, but I never again met anyone who made me feel the way you do,” he says.

They’re later seen lying next to each other on the floor. “‘Are you happy?’ Isn’t that the one question we should be asking each other?'”

What Happens Later will get its theatrical debut on October 13.

Martha Stewart is facing backlash following a post from her cruise to Greenland.

The 82-year-old lifestyle maven shared a photo from her getaway, sitting at a bar aboard a ship and showcasing her cocktail. While the initial image didn’t spark outrage, it was her caption that ignited controversy.

“End of the first zodiac cruise from @swanhelleniccruises into a very beautiful fjord on the east coast of greenland. We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight,” wrote Stewart, displaying an image of the icy chunk on a bar cart.

Fans took to the comments to express their disappointment, chastising Stewart for using icebergs to chill drinks, particularly in light of climate change concerns.

“Martha the ice caps are melting dont put them in your drink,” wrote one user.

Another quipped, “Babe we kinda need to keep that ice in the ocean.”

Some also seemingly came to Martha’s defense, with one alluding to the irony of the uproar.

“All these haters would prefer Martha to use water that would of come from that iceberg and bottled it and then refreeze it in an electrical freezer where it was stored for a few days.”

A day after news of Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter‘s apparent suicide spread on his Instagram page, the reality show veteran told fans in a video on Tuesday, August 29, that he’s actually “alive and well.”

Seiter, who appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s season of The Bachelorette, blamed the death hoax on a “cruel” hack of his account.

“Somebody was playing a cruel joke and mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve gone through with depression and suicide attempts,” he continued.

“I’m sorry for all the pain they caused. I am going to do all I can with my team to identify who was behind this. But again, I apologize for the confusion. And I will update you guys as more facts come in.”

The original post, which was deleted after Seiter tried “desperately” to regain control over his account, was reportedly from his family. It read in part, “As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world.”

Calling him “fearless,” the statement concluded, “Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace.”

‘Suits’ creator says Buckingham Palace took a word of dialogue out of Meghan Markle’s mouth

With Suits having become one of the hottest shows ever to come to Netflix, The Hollywood Reporter published an interview with show creator Aaron Korsh, who said Buckingham Palace was paying attention to his show.

However, they weren’t watching as fans, evidently.

As most know by now, Meghan Markle left her role as paralegal Rachel Zane in the USA series to marry Prince Harry. But before that headline-grabbing event, Korsh says he and his staff were experiencing a “royals” pain.

They “weighed in on some stuff,” Korsh said. “Not many things, by the way, but a few things that we wanted to do and couldn’t do, and it was a little irritating.”

One instance was a specific line of dialogue.

“My wife’s family, when they have a topic to discuss that might be sensitive, they use the word ‘poppycock,'” Korsh explained. “So, in the episode … as a nod to my in-laws, we were going to have her say, ‘My family would say poppycock.’ And the royal family did not want her saying the word.”

He continued, “They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth. I presume because they didn’t want people cutting things together of her saying ‘c***.’ So, we had to change it to ‘bulls****’ instead of ‘poppycock,’ and I did not like it because I’d told my in-laws that it was going to be in the show.”

He added it wasn’t the only instance of the Palace interfering, but couldn’t remember others.

Korsh said he didn’t know who inside Buckingham Palace specifically called for the word to be edited, but that they somehow got the show’s scripts early.

“I was aware that they were reading them because I got the feedback,” he recalled. “I don’t know how they got ’em.”

Spotify announced Tuesday it has united the hosts of all the major network late-night talk shows — Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver— for a unique podcast benefiting their out-of-work writing staff.

Strike Force Five launches Wednesday, August 30, on Spotify and across most major podcast platforms.

Late-night shows were the first to go dark as a result of the Writers Guild of America strike in May; the SAG-AFTRA strike was called in July, and Hollywood ground to a halt nearly altogether.

Strike Force Five started out as a meeting between the hosts to discuss the strike situation, Spotify explains in the announcement. “What ensued was a series of hilarious and compelling conversations.” And now “fans can listen in on these once-private chats.”

It explains, “All proceeds received by the hosts from Strike Force Five will go to out-of-work staff from the hosts’ respective shows, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”

The series will be hosted on Spotify’s Megaphone, and supported by Ryan Reynolds’ Mint Mobile and his Aviation Gin partner Diageo as co-presenting sponsors.
