On Thursday, September 7, Netflix debuted the trailer to Robert Rodriguez‘s forthcoming reboot of his hit franchise Spy Kids: Armageddon.

The movie stars Everly Carganilla and Connor Esterson as, respectively, Patty and Tony, who discover their parents are secret agents.

Zachary Levi and Gina Rodriguez play their parental spies in disguise.

According to the trailer, a computer virus is bringing bad guys from a video game into our world, and in true Spy Kids fashion, the more experienced agents get snatched, and it’s up to their kids to “become kid spies-in-training to save their parents, beat the bad guys, and save the world.”

The trailer has all the hallmarks of the previous entries in the series, from cool gadgets to spy training montages, to some pretty dodgy CG, but it’s all in good fun for writer-director-producer Rodriguez.

“I’ve heard from so many families telling me how much they’ve enjoyed these films over the course of their lives,” he explains to Netflix. “And now a lot of kids who enjoyed the first films as children are parents themselves and enjoy sharing them with their kids.”

He adds, “The Spy Kids franchise was based on my growing up in a family of ten kids with an FBI special agent Uncle. It’s been very exciting for me and my kids to work on this film together as a family, for other families to enjoy.”

Spy Kids: Armageddon debuts September 22.

Noor Alfallah, the 29-year-old mom to three-month-old Roman Alfallah Pacino, has reportedly filed paperwork for full custody of the son she shares with 83-year-old Al Pacino.

Page Six reports the paperwork also lays out “reasonable visitation” for the Oscar-winning actor and stipulates he will take part in decisions including schooling, doctor’s visits and the like.

The documentation obtained by the publication also stipulates Pacino will pay for her legal fees and court costs related to their new bundle of joy.

Pacino made headlines in May when ABC Audio confirmed he and Alfallah were expecting; the mom-to-be was reportedly around eight months along when the news broke.

Little Roman is the fourth child for The Godfather series star and the first for Alfallah.

Pacino also has a 33-year-old daughter named Julie Pacino from his relationship with acting coach Jan Tarrant and 22-year-old twins Anton and Olivia Pacino from his time with Vacation actress Beverly D’Angelo.

PETA capitalizes on Pete Davidson voicemail controversy with $85 Halloween costume

As reported back in June, Pete Davidson apparently gave PETA an earful via voicemail, after the animal rights group dogged the SNL star for buying a purebred puppy, and not adopting.

But now the group has apparently dragged the controversy back up for Halloween, by selling a costume for $85 that roughly — very roughly — approximates Davidson’s face.

According to a voicemail that was made public, Davidson blasted Daphna Nachminovitch, senior VP of cruelty investigations, who had apparently called him out for the purchase.

Davidson explained, “My mom’s f****** dog who is 2 years old died a week before, so we’re all so sad,” explaining he’s extremely allergic to dogs, and the only breeds he could tolerate are cavapoos.

“So why don’t you do your research before you f****** create news stories for people because you’re boring…” he added.

PETA’s paper mask kinda sorta looks like Davidson wearing a blue baseball cap with “#$@!%” printed on it. The get-up also includes an “I Should’ve Adopted” hoodie, and a plush dog that looks similar to the controversial cavapoo, festooned with a “Shelter Dogs Rule” bandana.

On the site, PETA expressed that while the former SNL star apologized for the message, “now there’s a chance for Halloween revelers to ensure that the message is still being sent loud and clear that there’s no f****** excuse for promoting the breeding industry by buying a dog from a pet store when millions of wonderful dogs await loving homes in animal shelters.”

So if you were in the market for an obscure Halloween costume that was based on a short-lived tabloid story, look no further.

All the proceeds will go towards spaying and neutering animals, PETA says.

The domestic violence case against actor Jonathan Majors is “ready for trial,” prosecutors said Wednesday, September 6. A trial date is expected to be set when Majors appears in court September 15.

Jury selection had been scheduled to begin Wednesday but was delayed, ABC News is reporting.

Majors faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend during a night out in March, striking her and then pushing her onto a car. He has denied the allegations and said his accuser was the aggressor.

His lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, denied the allegations from the outset, saying the evidence would prove the actor is innocent.

The Loki and Creed III star previously appeared during a brief hearing in Lower Manhattan on August 3, when prosecutors asked for more time to prepare.

On Kourtney Kardashian‘s Instagram on Wednesday, September 6, she revealed that her unborn baby underwent “urgent fetal surgery.”

The news comes days after an “urgent family matter” caused her husband, Travis Barker, to return to the States, and his band Blink-182 to reschedule its European tour.

She posted a black-and-white photo from the hospital, showing her left hand clasping Barker’s heavily inked fingers.

“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life,” Kourtney wrote.

“I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” she continued.

Kourtney said, “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”

Kardashian concluded, “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing.”

In a social media post last week, the “All the Small Things” trio wrote, “Due to an urgent family matter, [drummer] Travis has had to return home to the States.”

On Wednesday Barker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to thank fans and provide a tour update: “I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday.”

For the 17th year in a row, ABC correspondent Bob Woodruff‘s eponymous foundation and the New York Comedy Festival are saluting our veterans with the Stand Up for Heroes benefit.

On November 6 at David Geffen Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, Jon Stewart will be on hand to hail service members and their families. And the former Daily Show host will be in good company.

Austin Butler and Tom Hardy hit the road in motorcycle gang drama ‘The Bikeriders’

Danny Lyon‘s famous 1968 photo book of motorcycle enthusiasts, called The Bikeriders, has been adapted into a star-studded film of the same name, the trailer of which just revved onto YouTube.

Oscar nominees Austin Butler and Tom Hardy lead the cast, which also stars Emmy winner Jodie Comer, Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon and The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus.

Set in 1965, the movie from writer Jeff Nichols stars Elvis vet Butler as Benny, a new recruit to the Vandals motorcycle club, run by Hardy’s Johnny.

Comer plays Kathy, who falls fast for Benny, as recalled to a young writer named Danny, played by Mike Faist, a character who is likely a nod to the book’s author.

As the gang grows, so does its tolerance for violence, and gambling and prostitution — as Hardy’s character grooms a reluctant Butler as his eventual successor. “Benny: I need ya,” Hardy says.

The drama, which recently enjoyed a warm reception at the Telluride Film Festival — and currently has a 90% Rotten Tomatoes average from the 10 critics who have seen it — opens December 1.
