Netflix has released the trailer to Irish Wish, the forthcoming romantic comedy starring Lindsay Lohan, her second movie for the streamer following the holiday hit Falling for Christmas.

In the movie, LiLo plays Maddie, who has traveled to the Emerald Isle to be a bridesmaid at the wedding of her friend, who is about to marry “the one who got away,” played by Alexander Vlahos.

She tells her mom, who is played by Jane Seymour, “I can’t help but think that things would be different if I had told Paul how I felt.”

As Netflix teases, Maddie gets her chance when “a spontaneous wish for true love causes her to wake up as the bride-to-be.”

However, the wish isn’t what Maddie bargained for, after she meets-cute with a snarky but charming photographer (Ed Speleers) tasked with taking some shots of the bride-to-be against some “idyllic Irish backdrops.”

As they bond, he asks her of the upcoming event, “Is it everything you imagined?” to which she answers, “I’m not sure this is supposed to be my life.”

The trailer ends with a “will she or won’t she” cliff-hanger, as Maddie’s wished-for groom and the assembled wedding party awaits her arrival at the church.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will dive onto streaming for Max subscribers on Tuesday, February 27.

The sequel to the highest-grossing DC Comics-based film of all time had a higher audience score on aggregator Rotten Tomatoes than its 2018 predecessor, but it fell flat with critics and ended its box office run with over $433 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

By comparison, the original Aquaman made more than $1.1 billion.

The James Wan-directed sequel has Jason Momoa‘s King of Atlantis teaming up with brother and former enemy Orm (Patrick Wilson) to stop Yahya Abdul-Mateen II‘s Black Manta from destroying their bloodline — and the world — with the help of a fearsome new weapon.

A draft script from the original Star Wars that Harrison Ford left behind in a rented English apartment in 1976 fetched more than $13,000 when the hammer fell, U.K.-based Excalibur Auctions tells ABC Audio.

The revised fourth draft script — titled The Adventures of Luke Starkiller, as taken from the Journal of the Whills’ (Saga I) Star Wars — was conservatively expected to sell for around 10 grand.

As reported, a then-unknown Ford left the annotated script behind with personal messages and other items held for decades by the family who rented him two floors of their Notting Hill home.

The grandchildren of Han Solo’s then-landlords recently put the memorabilia up for sale.

Ford’s shooting schedule for George Lucas‘ 1977 Oscar-winning film fetched more than $6,100 at the same auction — it was estimated to sell for a little over $1,000 — while a letter to the actor from his agent that was expected to sell for $75 went for more than $225.

Gwyneth Goes Skiing, the absurdist U.K. musical about the lawsuit that followed a skiing accident involving Gwyneth Paltrow, is schussing to The States, with Glee veteran Darren Criss lending his voice.

On its Instagram, Awkward Productions confirmed a Variety report that the play is coming over The Pond, and into the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Utah — the same state in which retired optometrist Terry Sanderson sued the Oscar winner, claiming she seriously injured him on the slopes at a ski resort in 2016.

Emmy winner Criss will provide the singing voice for Sanderson, played by the U.K. production’s Joseph Sanderson who is reprising his role; What We Do in the Shadows alumna Cat Cohen will sing for Linus Karp‘s Paltrow.

The highly-publicized lawsuit — and Paltrow’s countersuit — led to a jury siding with the star and Goop CEO in March of 2023, concluding that Sanderson was 100% at fault. Paltrow was awarded her requested $1 in damages.

In December of that year, Gwyneth Goes Skiing was staged at London’s Pleasance Theatre. It was described as a “musical reimagining” of what took place on the slopes of Utah’s Deer Valley Ski Resort that fateful day.

Oppenheimer was the big winner at Sunday’s BAFTAs, taking home seven trophies, including best director and actor for Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy, respectively, as well as the prize for best film. Robert Downey Jr. won for best supporting actor. Poor Things was right behind with five wins, including one for Emma Stone as best actress. Apple TV+ reports its World War II drama Masters of the Air drew more viewers in its opening weekend than any other series in the streaming service’s history, according to Variety. While the exact figures weren’t revealed, the accomplishment would push Masters of the Air‘s launch past Apple TV+’s other big original shows, such as The Morning Show and Severance. Masters of the Air is currently launching new episodes, with its sixth installment dropping on February 23. The finale airs March 15 …

Bob Marley: One Love topped the domestic box office, grabbing $28.6 million between Friday and Sunday, and an estimated $34.1 million through Monday. The biopic, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the legendary reggae artist, which opened on Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, is expected to bring in $52 million in its first six days of release.

One Love pulled in an estimated $29 million internationally, bringing its global tally to over $80 million so far.

Sony/Marvel’s Madame Web took second place, delivering $15.3 million over the traditional three-day weekend, and an estimated $18 million through Presidents’ Day. The Dakota Johnson-led film, which also opened on Wednesday, has earned an estimated $26 million in North America over its first six days of release.

Overseas, the film took in an estimated $25.7 million, bringing its worldwide total to $52 million.

Pulling up in third place was Argylle, snatching up $4.7 million at the domestic box office between Friday and Sunday and an estimated $5.5 million over the four-day weekend. The spy thriller has collected $37.2 million in North America and $76 million globally.

The animated comedy Migration finished the weekend in fourth place, grossing $3.75 million over the three-day weekend and an estimated $5 million through Monday. It now stands at $116 million at the domestic box office and $254 million worldwide.

Rounding out the top five was Wonka, earning $3.49 million between Friday and Sunday, and an estimated $4.4 million through Monday. To date, the film has grossed $210 million in North America and $604 million globally.

Just as it did last year with Suits, Netflix has breathed new life into a forgotten TV property.

In this case it’s Loudermilk, the 2017 comedy series from Green Book Oscar winner Peter Farrelly that faded into the sunset after its streaming home, the now-defunct AT&T Audience Network, went offline for good in 2020.

More than six years later, however, the show starring Office Space‘s Ron Livingston as a curmudgeonly recovering alcoholic-turned-substance abuse counselor Sam Loudermilk has become a global hit shortly after debuting on Netflix.

According to Deadline, Loudermilk season 1 became one of Netflix’s top 10 most-viewed shows in the U.S. after debuting in mid-January — and stayed on that chart for four weeks, through February 4.

It even made the top four during the week of January 15-21, the trade reports.

The comedy also ranked on the top 10 in Canada, Australia, the U.K. and other territories.

The series, which sheds light on the camaraderie of addiction and recovery, had been available on Prime Video since 2021 — including its third season, which was shot and due to run in 2020, until AT&T’s streaming service disconnected.

However, Netflix’s global reach gave the series new life, according to the trade’s Katie Campione, who said “it’s really becoming clear that Netflix can do for a series what basically no other streamer can.”

Loudermilk is warming up so much, in fact, that Farrelly tells the trade that a fourth season could “easily” come together with the original cast — and quickly. He could shoot a 10-episode fourth installment in just eight weeks, he insists.

With Killers of the Flower Moon recently garnering 10 Academy Award nominations, including a Best Supporting Actor nom for Robert De Niro, Tribeca Enterprises has announced its plans to celebrate the man himself.

As previously reported, De Niro Con will be a multiday celebration of the legendary 80-year-old actor and his body of work; the company he co-founded just revealed it will take place June 14-16 in New York City.

The event was supposed to happen last fall but was postponed due to the Hollywood strikes.

The new dates coincide with the 2024 installment of De Niro’s Tribeca Festival, which takes place June 5-16 in New York City.

According to Tribeca, De Niro Con will feature “set recreations, costume displays, and fireside conversations with behind-the-scenes collaborators; a curated selection of screenings, talks, and reunions with special appearances from co-stars; a De Niro Archive Gallery, consisting of rare photos [and] annotated scripts,” as well as “props from the film icon’s personal collection.”

Further, the fan fest will showcase “the world premiere of a six-screen immersive film from Little Cinema that weaves together classic De Niro films to create new storylines and dialogue between beloved characters.”

A full programming lineup will be announced in the spring.

There are three ticket purchase levels, all named in honor of De Niro’s work. The premium The Godfather Pass will set fans back $3,000, granting VIP access for two guests to all De Niro Con programming, as well as an invite for two for an exclusive cocktail reception, a copy of a limited-edition book signed by the actor, merchandise discounts and two tickets to the Tribeca Festival.

Apple TV+’s new drama series The New Look takes viewers to Nazi-occupied Paris during World War II, and explores the choices made by now-icons like Christian Dior and Coco Chanel to keep both their art, and themselves, alive.

Ben Mendelsohn plays Dior and Juliette Binoche Chanel, whose rivalry in the fashion world simmered before — and after — the occupation.

Mendelsohn says to ABC Audio about the show, “It’s not about fashion. It’s not particularly even about Christian or Coco. It’s just about … how do you move forward in the world … when there’s this horrible sense that you could be done in, that people aren’t maybe who they say they are, that you know, all that stuff, like what matters to you and how do you do it?”

For Chanel, that meant casting her lot in with Hitler’s Nazi high command. Binoche explained of approaching her character, “I wanted to make a real human being, you know, making decisions that felt like shocking, of course, from the outside. … [I found it] important to make her emotionally reachable.”

Game of Thrones veteran Maisie Williams plays Catherine Dior, Christian’s younger sister, who is active in the French Resistance, and ends up tortured by the Gestapo and imprisoned in a concentration camp because of it.

Williams shaved her head and underwent a grueling regimen to shed 25 pounds to play Catherine throughout her ordeal. “It was really a useful tool for lots of reasons,” she explains.

“There’s of course the way that I physically change and that, you know, tells a story in and of itself. But I just think, like, focusing so intensely on my job in that way is something I could only dream of,” she insists.
