While promoting the 2024 Tribeca Festival on Tuesday, Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro expressed his thoughts on former President Donald Trump.

“I’m a New Yorker. I’ve been here my whole life and, yeah, I think that we’re facing another form of terrorism with Donald Trump,” De Niro told ABC Audio.

“And we might be celebrating in a few years when he hopefully is gone. You know, whatever that’ll be commemorating – his final, whatever you want to call it – being out of the picture. It’s appalling,” De Niro continued.

Earlier the same day, the campaign for President Joe Biden dispatched De Niro and Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone, two former police officers who defended the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to speak outside of Trump’s hush money trial.

The three men spoke to reporters near the courthouse in Manhattan, where they argued the threat Trump poses to the country.

“I love this city. I don’t want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but the country, and eventually he can destroy the world,” De Niro said.

At a press conference following the Biden campaign’s, Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller shot back, saying the best the Biden campaign could do in attacking Trump was to “roll out a washed-up actor.”

Jeremy Renner teases possible ‘Mission: Impossible’ return

If any actor could pull off an impossible mission, it would be Jeremy Renner, who is thriving after nearly being crushed to death by a snowplow on January 1, 2023.

The Oscar-nominated Mayor of Kingstown star played the special agent William Brandt in 2011’s hit Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, but he tells Collider that a real-life mission — fatherhood — kept him from appearing in any follow-ups.

“I had to leave that. I was supposed to do more with them,” the Marvel superhero said. “I love those guys. I love Tom [Cruise] so much. We had so much fun, and I love that character a lot.”

He added, “It requires a lot of time away. It’s all in London. I had to go be a dad. It just wasn’t gonna work out then.”

As a result, Brandt was missing from the subsequent Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation in 2015; Fallout in 2018; and 2023’s Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.

Production on the sequel to that film — an eighth M:I movie — is underway, and that is apparently a mission Renner would choose to accept.

Renner added, “Maybe now that my daughter is older that could happen. I’d always jump into a Mission: Impossible anytime and back into Brandt. It’s great.”

Incidentally, the actor starred with his now-11-year-old daughter, Ava, in a Super Bowl ad for Silk almond milk.

The first part of the third season of Bridgerton continues to sit atop the throne for English-language shows for Netflix.

For the second week in a row, the latest romantic adventures of Lady Whistledown and company stayed at #1 on Netflix’s top-10 chart; interest in the show also boosted the previous entries of Shonda Rhimes‘ franchise for the week of May 20 through May 26.

While the third season scored an additional 24.1 million viewers worldwide in that timeframe, the first season scored a #2 slot with 6.4 million viewers. Its sophomore frame pulled in 5.4 million viewers, good enough for a #4 slot. Meanwhile, the spinoff Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story had a #8 finish with 3.1 million views.

The second half of Bridgerton‘s third season debuts on June 13.

On the movie side, viewers weren’t letting a 17% splat from critics on Rotten Tomatoes keep them from Jennifer Lopez‘s new sci-fi movie, Atlas. The thriller debuted at #1 on Netflix’s English language movies list, with 28.2 million views, making it the most-watched title of the week. The sci-fi thriller also starring Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown reached the top 10 in 93 countries, according to Netflix.

‘Yellowstone’ sequel series reportedly lassos three key players

Reilly, Hauser – Paramount Network

While there’s no word yet if Paramount Network has Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer in the saddle as has been rumored, it seems Yellowstone fans could see three familiar faces for the in-development sequel series.

After the flagship show that spawned prequels 1883 and 1923 rides off into the sunset to close the book on Kevin Costner‘s John Dutton, show franchise creator Taylor Sheridan will take the Duttons through 1944 and, reportedly, a contemporary series, 2024.

While the latter was the project Pfeiffer and McConaughey were reportedly circling, Puck News says Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Luke Grimes — who respectively play fan favorites Beth Dutton, her husband Rip and her brother Kaycee — will be back in the saddle for the follow-up.

This seems to jibe with a recent interview Hauser gave, in which he talked about getting back to work on the second half of Yellowstone‘s fifth and final season, which was delayed by the strikes, and rumored static with Costner, who was splitting his time on the Paramount Network hit and his Western project Horizon: An American Saga.

Costner recently denied reports his Horizon shooting schedule held up work on the show before the strikes.

Hauser told Country Living, “I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone the way it needs to be finished right now.”

He continued, “We’ll see where that leads, but I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself and some of the other cast.”

Ocean’s Eleven franchise co-stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt are back together again in the upcoming Apple TV+ film Wolfs, a teaser for which just dropped.

In the snippet, which is just a preview of a full trailer that drops Wednesday, the superstars are traveling in a car together. With Clooney in the driver’s seat, neither actor says a word, but it’s clear they’re not thrilled to be sharing the space.

Pitt impatiently fiddles with the car, eventually opening the glove box, which is slammed shut by Clooney. Meanwhile, as the wiper blades swipe away the rain, they also wipe away graphics reading their names and the title of the film — and the promise of the forthcoming trailer.

Directed by Spider-Man trilogy veteran Jon Watts, plot details are still thin. The movie reportedly has Pitt and Clooney playing a pair of world-class fixers assigned to the same job, which is probably why they’re not getting along.

The movie, which will also be in theaters in September via Sony Pictures Entertainment, also stars Amy Ryan from The Office and Never Have I Ever‘s Poorna Jagannathan.

One of the most iconic homes in America is up for grabs! The Home Alone house, located in Winnetka, Illinois, is up for sale, according to Coldwell Banker Realty’s Dawn McKenna Group, who is listing the home.

“Ever wanted to live like Kevin McCallister? Now is your chance to fulfill your childhood dreams!” read a recent post from the real estate group.

The home is being listed for $5.25 million, according to the post and Zillow, a popular real estate marketplace website. The Dawn McKenna Group posted a video showing off the home by splicing together clips from the classic Chris Columbus movie alongside the renovated version of the home now for sale.

“While much of the home will look familiar, you won’t believe what the sellers have done to transform this famous home, nearly doubling the livable footage and adding a state of the art sport court!” read the post.

Of the several clips included in the stitched-together video is the famous stair sledding scene where Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, sleds down the main staircase in the home.

The house plays a prominent role in the 1990 classic about a child left alone for the holidays in his suburban home as he fends off a pair of bumbling intruders, played by Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci.

In December 2021, Airbnb listed the home for a one-night stay for families looking to recreate the magic of the classic holiday movie.

Let’s hope the realtors disabled all of Kevin’s booby traps.

Jimmy Kimmel revealed on Memorial Day that his 7-year-old son Billy underwent a successful heart valve surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

It was the third heart surgery for Kimmel’s kid, who was born with a heart defect.

“We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid,” Kimmel captioned an Instagram photo of his son smiling in his hospital bed.

“Walking around this hospital, meeting parents at their most vulnerable, children in pain and the miracle workers who do everything in their considerable power to save them is a humbling experience,” he continued.

The comedian, 56, ended his emotional tribute thanking “those loving strangers” who prayed for his and his wife Molly McNearney‘s son, and their family and friends for “rallying around us to an almost-ridiculous extent.”

He concluded, “Billy, you are the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know.”

Some of those friends cheering Billy on from the comments section included Jimmy’s pals Jennifer Aniston, Ryan Reynolds and John Stamos. Nathan Fillion added, “CHLA saved a friend of mine with heart issues when he was a wee lad, as well. Love those people over there.”

Billy underwent his first open-heart surgery at just 3 days old, and had another when he was 7 months old. His health took center stage after he was born in 2017, when Jimmy shared with his audience the trials the newborn was facing.

Kimmel tearfully told viewers of Billy’s successful but “terrifying” first surgery, calling it “the longest three hours of my life.”

His son’s health struggles led Jimmy to become an advocate for the Affordable Care Act, which he praised again in the new post.

General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, who was known for playing Brando Corbin in the beloved ABC soap opera, died after being shot on Saturday.

Wactor was shot after he interrupted three male suspects who were allegedly attempting to remove a catalytic converter from his vehicle, his mother, Scarlett Wactor, told KABC-TV Los Angeles. The incident happened around 3:25 am PT on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Scarlett Wactor said her son saw someone at his car after he finished work at a rooftop bar. At first, he thought his car was being towed.

As he approached his car, one of the suspects, who was wearing a mask, later opened fire at him, Wactor’s mother said, adding that the police told her Wactor did not do anything wrong.

While the suspects fled to an unknown location following the shooting, Wactor was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a statement to ABC News, Scarlett Wactor called her son “a beautiful soul.”

“There are not enough words to tell what a beautiful soul he was. He was a kind loving son and brother, he lived life to the fullest. He set goals and went after them,” her statement read, adding, “There is a very large hole on our hearts and lives.”

The case is under investigation by the LAPD Central Division Homicide.

Wactor, who was 37, was called “one of a kind” in a statement on the official Instagram account for General Hospital.

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” the statement read. “He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”
