One might not recognize Taylor Wily‘s name, but the affable, bald-headed sumo wrestler-turned-actor who appeared in dozens of movies and TV shows, including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Hawaii Five-0, has died.

Hawaii’s KITV News was the first to break the news, but some of those who worked with him were quick to take to social media to mourn the Hawaii-born Samoan star, who was 56.

Peter Lenkov produced Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I. and MacGyver — and Wily played the lovable scammer and food truck owner Kamekona Tupuola on the latter two CBS shows. Lenkov confirmed the news with a photo of the pair together, saying, “I am devastated. Heartbroken. I’ll post some detailed feelings later. Just too hard right now.”

He later wrote of Wily’s Five-0 audition, “You came in with a towel on your head mopping up sweat, and I was smitten. You charmed me into making you a regular… on the show… and in my life. You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother.” Lenkov added the pair just spoke last week, when “we laughed at how right you were from Day 1. Five-0 was our dream job. And I was so lucky we got to share that magic together.”

Will Yun Lee, who worked with Wily on Five-0, called him, “A Prince of a man who was a kind, gentle warrior.”

To a video of the pair, Lee continued, “Loved him the second I met him. Loved hearing all his stories, especially about the UFC. But mostly I just enjoyed sitting with him in his quietness. Sending love to his family. He will be missed.”

No cause of death was released.

While there are many memes devoted to how many times Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star Sean Bean has died onscreen, it turns out he’s not nearly as easy to kill as some other stars.

With that in mind, the website Bored Panda dug deep to see which stars shuffled off their mortal coils the most for our entertainment pleasure.

Ironically, for as tough as he is in real life, former prison inmate-turned-Machete star Danny Trejo has died more than any other actor in Hollywood history.

According to Bored Panda’s stats, Trejo is the GOAT when it comes to onscreen deaths in movies, TV, videos and video games, with 93.

For actresses, that honor goes to Shelley Winters, with an onscreen death toll total of 25.

Following Trejo at #1 is Christopher Lee, who again was pretty hard to kill IRL: A former WWII Nazi hunter, the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars prequel star passed away at 93 in 2015. Not coincidentally, his characters in both those films died. His Count Dooku was beheaded in Star Wars: Episode III, though his death scene as Saruman in LOTR was controversially cut.

Third place belongs to German actor Udo Kier, with 76 career deaths, with Terminator and Aliens star Lance Henriksen ranking fourth with 75 — yep, including in both of those classics.

Eric Roberts rounded out the top five with 70 onscreen deaths — including in 2008’s The Dark Knight.

Looking purely at top-billed stars, who die less frequently than character actors, Bruce Willis leads with 38; Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Anthony Hopkins are tied with 36; and Liam Neeson had 34 onscreen deaths.

Back to the fairer sex, Miranda Richardson and Rose McGowan tied with 23.

Reality roundup: Kylie cries over mean comments, ‘Perfect Match’ finale and more

Have no fear, your reality roundup is here! Here’s a look at what happened in the world of reality television this week:

The Kardashians (Hulu)
On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kylie Jenner broke down over mean comments about her appearance. In particular, she addressed Paris Fashion Week photos where she wore light makeup and people speculated she had botched fillers. “Why do people think it’s OK to talk about me?” she said, through tears. “I’ve never cried about this before, but I guess it does affect me.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Kourtney revealed the reason her son Rocky needed emergency fetal surgery was because he had fluid in his lung.

90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise (TLC)
Speaking of Kylie Jenner, a new 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise finale clip reveals Alliyah wants plastic surgery to look more like Kylie. “What I’m trying to achieve is to have a thin waist, a big butt and hips,” she says. “So I look more feminine, and like Kylie Jenner.” Her fiancé, Shawn, is more wary of the operation, telling the camera, “I am attracted to Alliyah, she’s a beautiful woman as is. She’s so lucky that she looks like that without plastic surgery. Why would you mess with that?”

Perfect Match (Netflix)
The season 2 finale drops Friday, where fans will get to see if Jessica Vestal and Harry Jowsey end up together. Things were left up in the air after fellow contestant Melinda Melrose claimed Harry kissed her, which he denied.

John Dutton has ridden off into the sunset.

In a surprise post Thursday evening — the same day Paramount Network announced Yellowstone would be returning on November 10 — Kevin Costner said he will not return to the hit drama.

The Oscar winner explained he remains focused on his Western opus Horizon: An American Saga.

“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, season 5B or into the future,” he said in a video post.

5B refers to the second half of the fifth and final season of Taylor Sheridan‘s hit show, production of which was delayed by the writers and actors’ strikes.

In the video post, Costner continued of Yellowstone, “It was something that really changed me, I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop,” adding, “I’ll see you at the movies.”

Costner also weathered rumors — which he denied to People — that his Horizon shooting schedule also interfered with production on the series. In the People interview, Costner said he had been willing to return to the series, and said he was “disappointed” nobody defended him from the rumors he didn’t make himself available to finish off the show.

He claimed, “When it was first pitched to me by Taylor, it was one season and [like] a long movie, which [is] speaking my language.”

Costner claims he “stepped up,” saying, “I’ll do it for three seasons, and I ended up doing it for five.”

ABC News

Jonathan Majors has landed his first big-screen role following his 2023 assault conviction.

Deadline reports Majors will star in the revenge thriller Merciless, to be directed by Martin Villeneuve, the younger brother of Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.

Merciless intertwines themes of possession, revenge and personal justice within a haunting narrative. It explores the psychological descent of John, played by Majors, and the supernatural forces challenging his sanity,” Martin tells the outlet.

The Creed III and Loki star was convicted of one count of misdemeanor third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment, but was acquitted of two other counts of assault and aggravated harassment in a split verdict following a trial in December 2023.

He was sentenced to domestic violence programming.

Majors, who was set to play Kang the Conquerer in several Marvel projects, was released from playing the role as a result of the verdict.

Netflix already has millions of people worldwide on their couches, so they might as well bring the snacks.

That’s apparently the idea behind Netflix Now Popping, a new ready-to-eat collab with the company Popcorn Indiana.

The streamer’s latest co-production — with flavors like Cult Classic Kettle Corn, Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn, Black and White Fudge Drizzle, White Cheddar, Himalayan Pink Salt and, of course, the classic Movie Butter — is now available.

If those sound like must-have bingeing essentials, visit a Walmart — not a theater — near you.

‘Yellowstone’ returns on Nov. 10

Paramount Network

Paramount Network announced Thursday that Yellowstone will finally return to TV on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

The new episodes of the top-ranking TV drama will kick off the series’ fifth and final season.

“The wait is over,” a voice-over says in a teaser showing the red-hot, now-iconic brand of the Dutton’s ranch, before teasing the “epic return” of the series.

The show’s fifth season, which was delayed by the dual Hollywood strikes, is still in production in Montana.

With a start date now set, fans are left to wonder what will become of Kevin Costner‘s John Dutton. To People, he recently said he’d welcome a chance to return, despite rumors — which he denied, and about which he said left him “disappointed” — that working on his Horizon film sidetracked production of the show.

“It might be an interesting moment to come back and finish the mythology of this modern-day family,” Costner said. “And if that happens, I would step into it if I agreed with how it was being done.”

Donald Sutherland, who spent decades on the big screen in acclaimed films like M*A*S*H* and Klute, has died. He was 88.

His son Kiefer Sutherland confirmed the news “with a heavy heart” via his Instagram. To a throwback photo of himself as a child with his famous dad, Kiefer called Donald “one of the most important actors in the history of film.”

He added, “Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Sutherland got his start as a radio DJ when he was a teen, before studying at Victoria College and at University of Toronto, and later the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

After treading the boards at the Perth Repertory Theater in Scotland, Sutherland struggled, before eventually moving to Hollywood. In 1967, he appeared in the World War II hit The Dirty Dozen and followed that with roles as “Hawkeye” Pierce in Robert Altman‘s 1970 classic M*A*S*H*.

Other notable appearances followed, including the Oscar-winning thriller Klute in 1971 and the acclaimed Ordinary People in 1980.

Sutherland appeared in dozens of other projects on the big and small screens, nabbing a Supporting Actor Emmy Award for the miniseries Citizen X in 1995.

He later became famous to a younger generation thanks to his role as the villainous President Snow in 2012’s The Hunger Games and its sequels.
