In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner James Cameron confessed, to the surprise of perhaps few, that he considers himself “overbearing.”

It was a response to what Cameron called a “non-story” from Independence Day director Roland Emmerich, who said he left a reboot of Fantastic Voyage because the filmmaker was “overbearing.”

“I’ve never said anything negative about Roland. But anyway: Yes, I’m overbearing. Damn right,” Cameron insisted.

Moreover, he added in a Mariah vs. J Lo.-esque bit of shade, “I actually don’t even remember talking to Roland Emmerich about Fantastic … [and] I have a pretty good memory.”

Cameron was asked about post-production on the third Avatar film, Fire and Ash, saying only it’s “really f****** cool.”

On that secrecy note, the Titanic filmmaker made a surprising revelation: He’s dipping back into the Terminator universe he created back in 1984. “It’s totally classified,” he told THR‘s reporter. “I don’t want to have to send out a potentially dangerous robotic agent if you were to talk about it, even retroactively.”

He did shed a little light on Terminator: Zero, Netflix’s upcoming anime take on his universe — one which he wasn’t involved in creatively. “It looks interesting,” the filmmaker allows. “My relationship to that is very much like [former Fox show] The Sarah Connor Chronicles — other people spinning stories in a world I set in motion is interesting to me.”

What isn’t interesting to him, however, is film nerds who took issue with the image quality in recent 4K remasters of his movies True Lies and Aliens.

“When people start reviewing your grain structure, they need to move out of mom’s basement and meet somebody,” he snarked in part. “I look at every shot, every frame,” adding, “Get a life, people, seriously.”

It’s hard to tell from a magazine interview how serious George Clooney was being, but in a new chat in GQ with his Wolfs co-star Brad Pitt, George has a few choice words for Quentin Tarantino.

According to Clooney, “Quentin said some s*** about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him. He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Pitt], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?'”

Clooney continues, “[Quentin] goes, ‘He’s not a movie star.’ And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium?’ That’s kind of my whole f****** career.”

Pitt — who won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood — had a laugh at the exchange, for the record.

Clooney continues, “So now I’m like, all right, dude, f*** off. I don’t mind giving him s***. He gave me s***.”

He did admit that his From Dusk Till Dawn co-star, and co-writer is great at what he does, adding, “But no, look, we’re really lucky we got to work with these great directors. Director and screenplay is what keeps you alive.”

When Clooney noted he played Tarantino’s brother in the 1996 film, Pitt said, “Oh, that’s right. He was pretty good in it too.”

Clooney snarked, “He was okay in it.”

A Ghostbusters animated project will officially be a series from Netflix.

Variety reports the streamer has given the green light to the show, which was being developed by Ghostbusters: Afterlife director Ivan Reitman and his creative partner Gil Kenan, who co-wrote and directed the Reitman-co-written and produced Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

As reported back in June, the pair collaborated with Netflix on the project via their Ghost Corps production banner through Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Columbia Pictures. Ghost Corps oversees the IP that began with Reitman’s late father Ivan, the director of the first two Ghostbusters films that were written by franchise’s stars Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis

Incidentally, Ghostbusters was initially spun-off into the beloved animated series The Real Ghostbusters in the 1980s and later another cartoon, Extreme Ghostbusters, in 1997.

Vince Vaughn received love and support from his family on Monday while receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Wedding Crashers actor made a rare appearance at the ceremony with his wife Kyla Weber and their two kids, daughter Locklyn, 13, and son Vernon, 11.

In a photo from the event, Vaughn and Weber can be seen posing with their kids, as Vernon proudly shows off his dad’s plaque, which features a miniature version of the actor’s Walk of Fame star.

Speaking to EXTRA TV at the ceremony, Vaughn opened up about fatherhood and how it has affected his life.

“I think you get more patience, and you feel a kind of love that you just can’t describe,” he explained. “And we laugh a lot, we have a lot of fun, so I enjoy my days quite a bit with both of them.”

Vaughn also gushed over his family and expressed gratitude for them during his speech accepting the honor, according to People.

“My beautiful wife Kyla, I’m so glad that you’re with me on this now. I’m so grateful for you and these beautiful kids and for all the laughter that we share together,” he said. “As much as all this means, Vernon and Locklyn, you guys really do need to know that you guys are the most important thing in the world to me.”

“You’re not as lucrative, and you don’t give me access to the kind of stuff that this kind of thing does,” he joked. “But with that all being said, you guys are the most important, and I love you very much. It’s great to have you guys with me.”

Apple TV+ just announced it is bringing back Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman‘s motorcycle adventure series Long Way Up for 10 episodes.

Emmy winner McGregor noted, “On a rather tricky, sandy bit of Long Way Up, Charley and I started to daydream about another trip to keep our minds off the scary road at hand! This is that trip.”

He added, “Rusty old bikes and 10,000 miles of Scandinavia, and Eastern and Central Europe. A big loop from my house in Scotland to Charley’s house in England. Long way home…magic,” added McGregor, who is also executive producing the new series.

The streaming service teases, “The new season follows Ewan and Charley as they ride vintage, lovingly refurbished motorbikes from Ewan’s home in Scotland to Charley’s in England, but rather than take the shortest route, they go the long way!”

Apple TV+ continues, “It’s an adventure that will take them to more than fifteen countries, through spectacular scenery and along some of the greatest driving roads in the world. Along the way they’ll immerse themselves in each country’s culture, meet the locals, and try their hand at unique and eclectic activities.”

Long Way Up premiered on Apple TV+ in 2020, and not only nabbed a 100% Critics Score on Rotten Tomatoes, but earned three Emmy Award nominations in 2021, including Outstanding Travel, Adventure and Nature Program; Outstanding Sound Mixing and Editing; and Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing.

The series was a continuation of McGregor and Boorman’s 2004 U.K. series Long Way Round, which documented their 19,000-mile journey from London to New York City on motorcycles. In 2007, they followed that with Long Way Down, in which they rode from Scotland to Cape Town, South Africa.

Netflix drops trailer to ‘Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef’

Netflix has announced that the anticipated rematch between former Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest champs Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi will stream live on Netflix from HyperX Arena Las Vegas, located at Luxor Hotel and Casino, on Sept. 2.

The dramatic narration on a brand-new trailer plays over the visual of a glistening glizzy. “To be the greatest, it takes hunger few understand.”

Verdi‘s bombastic “Messa da Requiem” then punctuates a shot of the two gastronomic gladiators staring each other down, a massive platter of hot dogs between them.

“Two champions. One legendary beef,” a title card reads, teasing the first matchup between the pair in 15 years.

Kobayashi, colloquially referred to as the Godfather of Competitive Eating, stormed the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2001, when he won the coveted mustard yellow belt by eating 50 hot dogs in 10 minutes — doubling the previous record for the contest.

He dominated the contest for years, thanks to his so-called Solomon Method: dunking his dogs in liquid to make them easier to gobble.

Chestnut later emerged as his main nemesis, and the pair went head-to-head every July 4, with Joey finally beating Kobayashi in 2007.

However, a contract dispute between Kobayashi and Major League Eating saw him banned from the competition since 2010, clearing the way for Chestnut to dominate virtually unchallenged since.

However, in June, MLE banned Chestnut from the July 4 contest due to his decision to endorse vegan hot dogs instead of Nathan’s.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday night, Fallon’s former Saturday Night Live co-star Rachel Dratch made a surprise appearance as Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn.

Fallon started by recapping breakdancing’s first entry as an Olympic sport in Paris and naturally mentioned what became one of the big stories of the Games: Gunn’s notorious zero point-awarded routine.

“You have to wonder where Raygun is right now,” Fallon said, before Dratch — wearing an identical outfit to Gunn’s — came out and busted a move.

“I have to ask you this, how are you feeling since your performance?” Fallon asked, only to have Dratch respond by using her sweet moves. Jimmy then jumped in.

For the record, for all the infamy the real Gunn got from the Games, the woman snarked as “Australia’s Jojo Siwareceived a hero’s welcome from some at home Down Under.

Grant Ellis is the newest Bachelor looking for love.

The day trader and former pro basketball player from New Jersey was announced as the new Bachelor on Monday night.

“As the Bachelor, Ellis is eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections,” a press release from ABC Entertainment read. “He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.”

Besides being passionate about his career, Ellis, who is a self-proclaimed mama’s boy, also enjoys “cheering on the Lakers, hitting strikes at the bowling alley, or belting out tunes at karaoke nights” during his spare time, per ABC.

Bachelor fans were first introduced to Ellis on Jenn Tran‘s season of The Bachelorette.

The two connected over their mutual attraction for each other and common goals, with Ellis telling Tran during an early group date that he is “on a mission” to start a family.

“I know when I have a family one day, I want to have a super close family,” he told her.

“I’m ready,” he added. “I’m on a mission, and that’s what I want.”

Tran and Ellis also had a romantic beachside horseback riding date in New Zealand, but he ultimately went home during week 6 of season 21.

Ellis will be the star of the 29th season The Bachelor. His season follows Joey Graziadei‘s season, where Graziadei proposed to Kelsey Anderson.

A premiere date for The Bachelor season 29 has not been announced.
