While Barbie is an ageless icon, the Mattel doll is actually turning 65, and Krispy Kreme is celebrating in a big way.

The doughnut company has announced the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection, stylish confections packaged in a limited-edition custom box.

Among its offerings are — naturally — the Barbie Pink Doughnut, “inspired by Barbie’s iconic pink and popism” and “piped with pink buttercream, sprinkled with sparkly pink sugar, and topped with Barbie sunglasses.”

There’s also the Malibu Dream Party Doughnut, “an unglazed shell doughnut filled with Cake Batter Kreme, dipped in Malibu blue icing and sparkly graham sand, topped with a Barbie DreamHouse piece, and piped with a white cloud.”

There’s also a Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme variety and a Barbie Sweet 65th doughnut, to boot.

Meredith Norrie, VP of global licensing and consumer products at Mattel, comments in part, “Krispy Kreme is … inviting fans across generations to enjoy the perfect blend of flavor and style, with nods to Barbie sprinkled into every bite.”

The treats are available at select grocery stores and Krispy Kreme locations.

But also up for grabs is a limited line of Barbie Fashionista dolls that “include a Krispy Kreme paper hat, dozen box and doughnut” and “a custom Barbie x Krispy Kreme adult-sized denim jacket.”

Those you have to enter to win, however, by commenting and tagging a friend on Krispy Kreme’s social channels — @krispykreme — between Wednesday and Friday.

If that wasn’t Kenough, on Saturday you can snag a free glazed doughnut by walking in — or driving up to — a participating Krispy Kreme location wearing pink.

If you needed some more pop culture nostalgia, what with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck breaking up again, Barney the purple dinosaur is back.

Cartoon Network has announced it is about to launch Barney’s World, an all-new animated series featuring the character who made his television debut in 1988 and was a ubiquitous presence in the ’90s.

The show premieres Oct. 14 on Max and Oct. 18 on the streamer’s corporate partner Cartoon Network.

“The new Barney’s World is set in a playground, where Barney is joined by dinos Billy and Baby Bop and their three kid best friends David, Mel, and Vivie,” the networks say.

“Through action-packed, music-filled adventures together, Barney helps the kids and audiences explore big preschool emotions, showing them how to love themselves, others, and their communities.”

The original live-action Barney and Friends — featuring a performer in the dino suit — ran for 14 seasons on PBS in the United States, with its final episode airing on Nov. 2, 2010.

Incidentally, the series was the show on which global superstar Selena Gomez cut her baby teeth. She starred as Gianna on the program from 2002 to 2004.

Meanwhile, as reported, Mattel Films is simultaneously looking to spin some Barbie magic from the purple property.

Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya is attached to a Barney project that will lean “into the millennial angst of the property rather than fine-tuning this for kids,” according to executive producer Kevin McKeon to the New Yorker last July.

He explains, “It’s really a play for adults. Not that it’s R-rated, but it’ll focus on some of the trials and tribulations of being thirtysomething, growing up with Barney — just the level of disenchantment within the generation.”

Jenn Tran‘s journey on The Bachelorette didn’t end with a happily ever after.

The 26-year-old physician assistant student ended up proposing to Devin Strader in Hawaii because she wanted to “choose herself in this journey.” She also had a ring for him.

But during the after the final rose ceremony, Tran said that after leaving Hawaii, he started pulling away.

“It’s been a really hard couple of months,” Tran said. “We had left Hawaii engaged, it was the happiest day of my life. I thought I had found who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.”

“All the promises he had made to me of wanting to move somewhere together and wanting to have this future planned out,” she continued, saying that his efforts were inconsistent and that he wasn’t calling as much.

Tran said that they had a happy couple counseling appointment planned in August, but the night before their session, Tran said he broke off the engagement.

“He had basically said that he didn’t love me anymore and didn’t feel the same way,” she said.

“He was making bold proclamations of love,” she added. “Then suddenly the next day it was nothing.”

During the after the final rose ceremony, she came face to face with her ex for the first time in a month and shared how heartbroken she was, while also confronting him about why he broke off their engagement the way he did over a phone call.

She also questioned him about why after ending their engagement, he followed a former contestant on the previous season of The Bachelor, Maria Georgas, on Instagram.

“It completely invalidated our entire relationship, everything we felt for each other,” she told him.

Strader didn’t have any response for her other than he was “regretfully late” in letting her know how he was feeling the entire time and that he “can’t excuse” following Georgas on Instagram.

Free streamer Pluto TV has just launched three new channels. The movie is based on author Rachel Yoder‘s 2021 novel of the same name and also stars Scoot McNairy, Zoe Chao and Mary Holland. In the coming attraction, we see Adams’ character has a very familiar predicament: She feels her old life slip away while caring for her toddler, only to have a different side of her awakened. “Motherhood … connects you to some primal urges,” she’s told, before we see Adams eating off a plate like a dog would and snapping at humans. Later, she comes home “from a run” covered in mud, to the confusion of her husband. The movie hits theaters Dec. 6 …

Whoopi Goldberg on season 28 of ‘The View’: “Even people who hate us love us”

The View aired its season 28 premiere on ABC on Tuesday and, with it, brought about a new era of the show.

Despite broadcasting in a brand-new building, debuting a new theme song and getting used to a different studio, the hosts of the country’s most-watched daytime talk show say nothing’s changing about why The View connects with audiences.

“Even people who hate us love us,” Whoopi Goldberg told ABC Audio. “You know that this is what we’re thinking. It may not be what you want to hear at any given time, but it’s what we are all thinking. Which gives other people the idea that they too can talk with their friends and survive.”

Joy Behar, the only original panelist, said people keep tuning in for the show’s spontaneity. “The fact that we’re not rehearsed, that we don’t know what we’re going to say until we’re sitting there,” Behar said.

With it being an election year, host Sara Haines says to expect many Hot Topics to be political.

“I would argue that the election stuff is probably the most exciting right now. Just every election is historical in its own way. This one’s proving … to be unprecedented in new ways, and so to watch it take shape, it’s kind of front of mind at all times,” Haines said.

Sometimes the panelists disagree, especially about politics. Goldberg says the different viewpoints on display are another reason people enjoy watching the show.

“This is a show about people talking about stuff that sometimes is uncomfortable and sometimes it’s not done the way you want it to get done. But you always know we’re never dull. We’re never boring,” Goldberg said. “Most people see themselves in at least one of us … so we are a universal table.”

Fans of the Emmy-winning HBO drama Euphoria are excited to know the show gets back into production in January — and so is co-star Sydney Sweeney.

“I’m very excited to jump back into Cassie,” she tells People. “She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it.”

The Anyone But You star and producer says she doesn’t know what to expect from season 3, but hopes her character takes a dark turn. “I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me,” she expresses.

As reported, the rest of the show’s cast, including Zendaya, Colman Domingo, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow, are returning for the new season.

While Alien: Romulus continues scaring moviegoers in theaters, a small-screen spin-off based on Ridley Scott‘s 1979 sci-fi classic is on the way — and a teaser has just splashed down.

Alien: Earth, a new FX series from Fargo‘s Noah Hawley, will see a mysterious spaceship crash-landing on our planet, where “a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”

The teaser opens with a shot of our third rock from the sun, revealed to be the reflection off the shiny skull of the acid-bleeding xenomorphs from the sci-fi franchise.

The original film had the memorable tagline, “In space no one can hear you scream,” but the snippet ends with a jump scare proving that doesn’t apply to Earth.

Alien: Earth, which stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy OlyphantAlex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin and Essie Davis, debuts in 2025.
