Liam Hemsworth steps into the role of Geralt in the official trailer for The Witcher season 4.
Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming fourth season of the fantasy drama series on Tuesday.
It finds Hemsworth coming in to the role that was originated by Henry Cavill during the first three seasons of the show. Joining Geralt of Rivia in the trailer are the other two members of the show’s central trio, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allan).
“After the Continent-altering events of season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies,” the season’s official description reads. “As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”
The trailer finds Geralt assembling an army to try to find his former apprentice, Ciri, played by Allan.
“Geralt, you’ve spent a lifetime battling monsters and men. Your entire being is dedicated to finding someone who you fear you failed. Your Ciri,” Laurence Fishburne‘s new character, Regis, says in the trailer.
Regis is a barber-surgeon with secrets, whose arrival signals a shift in Geralt as he goes on a personal transformation. Fishburne told Netflix he “was just really excited to be a part of this world” and that “this is something I’ve always wished to be able to do, and now I’m getting an opportunity to do it.”
The Witcher season 4 will be available to stream Oct. 30 on Netflix.

The former couple supported each other at the New York screening, posing for photos together on the red carpet.
Affleck serves as executive producer on the film alongside longtime collaborator Matt Damon as part of their Artists Equity production company.
Roadside Attractions, one of the film distribution companies for Kiss of the Spider Woman, reposted a clip from People on its Instagram Story Monday evening, in which Affleck praises Lopez and her role in the film ahead of the screening.

“Jennifer, you’re incredible,” he added.
Kiss of the Spider Woman stars Lopez, Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The film was adapted from the stage musical of the same name by Terrence McNally, John Kander and Fred Ebb, as well as the 1976 novel by ManuelPuig.

Ridley Scott poses ahead of his conversation on stage at BFI Southbank on October 5, 2025, in London, England. (John Phillips/Getty Images)
Ridley Scott has had enough of modern moviemaking.
The director, who has helmed films such as Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator, recently spoke at the BFI Southbank about his movie and TV-watching habits. Metro reports that Ridley, while in conversation with his son Luke Scott, said he watches plenty of the latest titles in order to find new acting talent. Lately, however, he isn’t as much of a fan of newer movies.
“The quantity of movies that are made today, literally globally — millions. Not thousands, millions … and most of it is s***,” Ridley said. “I think a lot of films today are saved, and made more expensive by digital effects. Because what they haven’t got is a great [script] on paper first. Get it on paper.”
What is worth watching, you may ask? Ridley says it’s his own movies.
“So what I do — and it’s a horrible thing — but I’ve started to watch my own movies, and actually they’re really good,” Ridley said. “And also, they don’t age.”
Ridley said he recently watched his 2001 film Black Hawk Down, which starred Josh Hartnett, Eric Bana and Ewan McGregor.
“I watched Black Hawk [Down] the other night and I thought, ‘How the h*** did I do that?’ But I think that occasionally there’s a good one that will happen, it’s like a relief that there’s somebody out there who’s doing a good movie.”
The director, who is 87 years old, also said he doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon, calling it “impossible.” Ridley confirmed that he has completed production on his next film, The Dog Stars, which will star Jacob Elordi, and that he’s started writing a third Gladiator film.
Dwayne Johnson is opening up about the opening weekend box office performance of his latest movie, The Smashing Machine.
The film, which was directed by Benny Safdie, tells the story of two-time UFC heavyweight champion MarkKerr. Johnson plays the legendary mixed martial artist and fighter in the sports biopic, which earned $6 million during its opening weekend. This makes it the lowest box office debut of Johnson’s acting career.
Johnson took to Instagram on Monday to share his appreciation for every person who went to see the movie in theaters despite the box office performance.
“From deep in my grateful bones, thank you to everyone who has watched ‘The Smashing Machine,'” Johnson wrote. “In our storytelling world, you can’t control box office results — but what I realized you can control is your performance, and your commitment to completely disappear and go elsewhere. And I will always run to that opportunity.”
The actor thanked Benny for believing in him and wrote it was his honor to transform into Kerr for the role.
“Truth is this film has changed my life,” Johnson wrote. “With deep gratitude, respect and radical empathy, dj.”
Benny Safdie won the Silver Lion for Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival for helming The Smashing Machine. The film marks his solo directorial feature debut from a script he wrote. He previously co-directed and wrote UncutGems and Good Time with his brother, Josh Safdie.
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson in ‘Die My Love.’ (MUBI/Kimberley French)
Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson star in the new trailer for Die My Love.
MUBI released the official trailer for the upcoming film on Monday. The film, which was directed by LynneRamsay, is based on the novel by Ariana Harwicz.
Lawrence stars as Grace, who has recently moved into an old house deep in the country with her partner, Jackson, played by Pattinson.
“With ambitions to write The Great American Novel, Grace settles into her new environment, and the couple welcome a baby soon after. However, with Jackson frequently – and suspiciously – absent, and the pressures of domestic life starting to weigh on her, Grace begins to unravel, leaving a path of destruction in her wake,” according to the film’s official synopsis.
The trailer finds Lawrence’s Grace asked about her writing career.
“I don’t do that anymore,” she says. “I’m stuck between wanting to do something and not wanting to do anything at all.”
We also see scenes of Grace and Jackson yelling at each other, with Grace seemingly driven to madness as she slams her head against a mirror and scratches at the house’s wallpaper.
LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte and Sissy Spacek also star in the movie. Lawrence and Martin Scorsese serve as producers on the project.

New details about the upcoming Polly Pocket film have been revealed.
Mattel Studios and Amazon MGM Studios’ live-action film starring Lily Collins has garnered some new creatives. Reese Witherspoon‘s company Hello Sunshine will co-develop the upcoming film, while Freakier Friday writers Jordan Weiss and Dan Brier will pen the screenplay.
Along with starring as the titular tiny doll, Collins will produce through her production banner Case Study Films.
Lena Dunham was previously attached to write and direct this Polly Pocket live-action film adaptation. She revealed in a July 2024 interview with The New Yorker that she was no longer working on the project.
Polly Pocket was first introduced in 1989. A press release from Mattel describes the toy as “a trailblazer of tiny collectibles and the original micro-scale doll and accessories line.”
Mattel reintroduced the toy in 2018 with new products that pay homage to its origins and popularity in the ’90s. Polly Pocket’s world can also be explored through animated TV and YouTube content aimed at children today.
A full-length animated Polly Pocket film, called PollyWorld, was released in 2006 from Universal Studios. The movie aired on Nickelodeon on Nov. 12 of that year and was later released on DVD. It was the third Polly Pocket animated film, following Polly Pocket: Lunar Eclipse and Polly Pocket 2: Cool at the Pocket Plaza, but remains the only full-length movie based on the Polly Pocket toy franchise.
Mattel Studios has two films currently in post-production. Masters of the Universe comes to theaters on June 5, 2026, while Matchbox is expected to be released in fall 2026.

Tyrese Gibson turned himself in Friday after being charged with animal cruelty, after his dogs allegedly killed a neighbor’s dog in his Atlanta neighborhood.
The actor and R&B singer was booked in Fulton County and released on $20,000 bond, according to Fulton County Sheriff’s Office jail records.
Good Morning America has reached out to Gibson for comment.
Gibson, who is also known for his role in the Fast and Furious films, was accused of animal cruelty after police say his four Cane Corso dogs ran out of his mansion and killed a dog, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, at a neighbor’s home on Sept. 18.
According to a police report, officers visited Gibson’s home on Sept. 22 to impound the four dogs after Gibson told them through his assistant that he would turn them over. However, the report states that when officers arrived at the home, Gibson was not there, and his assistant told police they could not take the dogs, as Gibson needed “a few more days” to find “another place” for them to go.
Authorities subsequently issued an arrest warrant for Gibson.
Rob Pitts, the chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Fulton County, Georgia, told ABC News that while Gibson turned himself in this week, he is “still not co-operating,” and officials still want the dogs turned in too.
“We can’t force him to tell us where the dogs are but the judge will be able to compel him to turn the dogs over to us,” Pitts continued. “From our point of view, the dogs will be deemed as dangerous based on everything that has happened in the past.”
In a statement to ABC News on Friday, Gibson’s legal counsel said, “Earlier this morning, Mr. Tyrese Gibson voluntarily turned himself in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office to answer the misdemeanor warrant. Earlier this week (Tuesday), Mr. Gibson’s legal team worked with prosecutors and successfully secured a consent bond for his immediate release. He has now been processed and released.”
The statement continued, “Despite what others might say, throughout this entire process Mr. Gibson has cooperated fully with legal authorities and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved. Mr. Gibson once again wants to extend his deepest condolences to the family who lost their dog and respectfully asks for privacy and understanding as this matter is handled through the appropriate legal channels.”
The dog that Gibson’s Cane Corsos are accused of killing belonged to Harrison Parker, Gibson’s neighbor.
“The pack of those four dogs were there minutes before I found Henry’s body,” Parker told Good Morning America in an interview earlier this week. “And there was absolutely no cars, no humans, just the dogs. And he was dead. And the fact he died like that alone in the darkness at night and I wasn’t there… it’s just horrible.”
Parker added, “I really hope that justice is fully served.”
Gibson, who was out of the state the night that the incident happened, said in a statement shared this week on Instagram that he is “devastated and heartbroken” for Parker’s family.
“To the family who lost their beloved pet: please know that I am praying for you, grieving with you, and will continue to face this tragedy with honesty, responsibility, and compassion,” he said.
Gibson’s legal counsel said in a statement shared with the actor’s post that Gibson had “made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome his two adult dogs and their three puppies in safe and loving homes” after learning what had happened.
In a separate statement at the time, Gibson’s legal counsel said the singer initially got the dogs after he had been “dealing with stalkers randomly showing up at his home” and added that the dogs were “never trained to be vicious.”
Police said Gibson’s neighbors have complained that the dogs were often seen running loose.
In Gibson’s arrest warrant, police said that they had spent more than a week trying to convince the actor to surrender his dogs.
“It’s been a problem and it’s not going to go away,” Pitts told ABC News in an interview on Thursday.
Pitts added that rehoming the dogs is “not good enough.”
“We have to have possession of them,” he said. “Him rehoming them doesn’t mean a hill of beans to us.”
Pitts also said there is a responsibility that comes with pet ownership.
“Pet ownership is a good thing, but there’s a responsibility that comes along with owning a pet,” he said. “And based upon the footage that I’ve seen, based upon the complaints that I have seen that the neighbors have launched against him over a period of time, this did not just happen.”
He added, “The fear is, in this case, it was a small pet dog, another dog, but it could have been a child out playing. It could have been an adult. It could have been a human being.”
