Lindsay Lohan is spreading Christmas cheer this holiday season with a new film.

On Tuesday, the actress took to Instagram to share a photo from her upcoming film, Our Little Secret, and its release date on Netflix.

The upcoming film will also star Kristin Chenoweth, Ian Harding, Jon Rudnitsky, Chris Parnell, Dan Bucatinksy, Henry Czerny, Katie Baker, Ash Santos, and Jake Brennan.

Lohan’s Mean Girls co-star Tim Meadows will also star in the film.

She tells Netflix’s Tudum blog, “The movie is about a girl who’s dating someone, and she goes to meet his family for the holidays. Then she bumps into her ex, who is dating her boyfriend’s sister. And all kinds of stuff breaks loose.”

Chenoweth, who also took to Instagram to share photos from the upcoming film, wrote, “What happens when you put two resentful exes under the same roof on Christmas? Find out this holiday season on Netflix!”

The Tony winner teases to Tudum, “There’s a lot of surprise family six-degrees-of-separation issues ahead, which is fun to play.”

The streaming platform announced the news of Our Little Secret in January. The project is also part of Lohan’s two-picture creative partnership with Netflix.

Previously, Lohan starred in the Netflix rom-com Falling for Christmas in November 2022 alongside Chord Overstreet. She also starred in Irish Wish, which was released in March of this year.

Our Little Secret will be available to stream on Nov. 27.

Prime Video has set Feb. 6 as the premiere date for season 3 of its adult animated superhero series Invincible. The Wrap reports the fourth episode of Max’s Batman spinoff series The Penguin racked up 1.7 million U.S. viewers across HBO and its streaming service, according to Warner Bros. Discovery viewing data. That marks a 21.43% increase from the series premiere on Sept. 19, which scored 1.4 million cross-platform viewers. The Penguin has also attracted 13 million U.S. viewers in less than a month. Netflix is developing the movie Pride, based on Haitian American author Ibi Zoboi‘s 2018 teen novel of the same name, according to Deadline. Shrinking is back. The first two episodes of the Apple TV+ series are out now, and fans will once again be able to enjoy the love/hate relationship between Jason Segel’s grieving therapist character, Jimmy, and Harrison Ford’s grumpy fellow therapist, Paul. 

Segel tells ABC Audio that while Jimmy may get under Paul’s skin, there’s much more to their relationship.

“I feel like a lot of Jimmy and Paul’s dynamic is Paul sort of berating and being frustrated by Jimmy and Jimmy intentionally, like a child, trying to irritate Paul,” he says. “It is a very paternal dynamic between those two.”

And it seems both stars enjoy that dynamic, with Jason sharing, “I really enjoy irritating Harrison, and I think he really enjoys yelling at me.”

But the off-screen relationship between Segel and Ford is completely different.

“We’re actually — off camera — super, super supportive of each other,” he says. “We have like a very tender relationship in that I think that both of us care really deeply about the work being good.”

While Shrinking is a comedy, there are certainly plenty of dramatic moments, although even when those are happening, Jason is looking for the laugh.

“Even when we are given dramatic scenes in Shrinking, I make a point of trying to find like, yeah, but where’s the clumsy part?” he says. “Where is the part where someone gets being mad wrong a little bit?” 

He explains, “You know, like, do you ever get your dad mad … and he gets too mad for the occasion? You know, like, ‘Oh, look at him go. He’s really mad about that sandwich,’ you know?”

It’s not even Halloween, but Lifetime is already gearing up for the holidays with the release of its 12-movie “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” lineup. 

Included are stars like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tia Mowry, Vivica A. Fox and Teri Hatcher, all in festive films, all debuting at 8 p.m. ET throughout the weekends of November and December.

Kicking things off on Nov. 16 will be Christmas at Plumhill Manor starring Maria Menounos. On Nov. 17 Lifetime debuts Holidays in Happy Hollow.

Other offerings include We Three Kings, starring singer BeBe Winans, on Nov. 30; Vivica stars with Jackée Harry in Make or Bake Christmas on Dec. 1. 

Tia Mowry stars in A Very Merry Beauty Salon on Dec. 7, and on Dec. 14 you can see Hewitt in The Holiday Junkie, which she directed, co-wrote and produced. She also wrote and performed a song for the movie.

Writer-director James Gunn helped celebrate October’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month Tuesday on Instagram by revealing the first shot of Krypto the Superdog, the Man of Steel’s best friend in Gunn’s forthcoming Superman.

To a shot of David Corenswet‘s Supes Earth-gazing while apparently sitting on the moon alongside a scruffy white pooch, Gunn noted, “Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing Superman.”

The filmmaker continued, “Ozu, who came from a hoarding situation in a backyard with 60 other dogs & never knew human beings, was problematic to say the least. He immediately came in & destroyed our home, our shoes, our furniture – he even ate my laptop. It took a long time before he would even let us touch him.”

Gunn recalled, “I remember thinking, ‘Gosh, how difficult would life be if Ozu had superpowers?’ – and thus Krypto came into the script & changed the shape of the story as Ozu was changing my life.”

Gunn continued, “What better time to debut the not-so-good-good-boy Krypto than #AdoptAShelterDog Month.”

He added, “Btw, Ozu today, is, fairly often, a very good boy.”

Also starring Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi and Anthony Carrigan, Superman and Krypto hit theaters July 11, 2025.

Disney Jr. announced on Tuesday it has greenlighted the first preschool Iron Man series, the animated Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends.

Following the hit kid-skewing Spider-Man and His Awesome Friends, the new show centers on a young Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Mason Blomberg) “and his world-saving besties,” Riri Williams aka Ironheart (Kapri Ladd) and Amadeus Cho aka Iron Hulk (Aidyn Ahn).

The producers tease that the show “follows the adventures (and misadventures) of best friends and super geniuses Tony Stark, Riri Williams and Amadeus Cho as they work together to solve problems both big and small and protect their city. … The young trio work together to make the world a better place, protecting their city and each other.”

From Disney Branded Television, the series is currently in production and slated for a summer 2025 premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+.

Apple TV+ is running full speed ahead on Slow Horses: The Emmy-winning spy drama has been renewed for a sixth season. 

The show that stars Gary Oldman as the leader of a group of dysfunctional British spies — unaffectionately known as the Slow Horses — just had its fourth season premiere on Sept. 4. It was renewed for a fifth season earlier this year.

“Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure,” said Apple TV+’s Jay Hunt.

Season six is adapted from Joe Country and Slough House, respectively the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron‘s “Slough House” book series.

All four seasons of Slow Horses hold a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, the streamer points out.

The six-episode sixth season will see “the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge,” Apple teases.

While the original Joker had been compared to Martin Scorsese‘s Taxi Driver, that film’s acclaimed screenwriter Paul Schrader wasn’t impressed with Todd Phillips‘ panned sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux.

In a chat in Interview magazine, Schrader said he got to the theater to see the movie, but “I saw about 10 or 15 minutes of it. I left, bought something, came back, saw another 10 minutes. That was enough.”

He added, “It’s a really bad musical.”

When pressed for details, he had some choice words for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, as well as their respective characters Joker/Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn.

“I don’t like either of those people,” he sniffed.

“I don’t like them as actors. I don’t like them as characters. I don’t like the whole thing. I mean, those are people who, if they came to your house, you’d slip out the back door.”

The Oscar-nominated writer used to be a film critic, and it seems other critics agree with his review: Joker: Folie à Deux has a 33% from them on the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

After a successful run in theaters — and just in time to creep you out for Halloween — Alien: Romulus is now available to rent or buy on digital streaming platforms. 

The 20th Century Studios follow-up to Ridley Scott‘s 1979 classic Alien and James Cameron‘s beloved 1986 sequel Aliens was directed by Fede Álvarez, who directed the micro-budgeted 2016 horror hit Don’t Breathe.

The logline teases, “While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”

The digital release comes packed with supplemental extras, including a feature on how Álvarez opted for practical effects over digital wherever possible — including a close-up look of how they brought the creepy facehugger aliens to life.

Alien: Romulus is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an Audience Score of 85% and made more than $349 million worldwide, the second-highest-grossing film in the Alien franchise globally.

The film comes to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 3.

Harrison Ford is reflecting about what it means to be an actor.

In an interview with GQ published Monday, the actor, who is known for his iconic roles in Indiana Jones, Star Wars and more, said that being an actor is being a storyteller.

“I tell stories,” he said. “I’m part of a group of people who work together, collaborate on telling stories. I’m an assistant storyteller. That’s what I am.”

When asked about what he thinks about the recent conversations around the “death of the movie star,” which some say the idea of movie stars has changed in part because of the age of streaming and franchise films, Ford called it “rubbish.”

“I don’t think the question is whether or not there are any movie stars,” he said. “There’s wonderful actors coming up everyday.”

“Whether or not they become movie stars is really not the point,” he added. “If movies need stars, they will find them. I’ve never f****** understood being a movie star. I’m an actor.”

Ford, who is returning as Paul, a cranky therapist in the Apple TV+ series Shrinking alongside Jason Segel, said that these days, what attracts him to certain projects depends on the writing and story.

“It’s the quality of the writing,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what the genre is. It doesn’t matter whether it’s on television or in movies. It’s the writing, it’s the story, it’s the character, it’s the emotional experience for an audience or for myself. It’s people that I have some feeling that I want to work with, or it’s a quality opportunity.”

Shrinking season two will arrive with the first two episodes on Wed., Oct. 16, on Apple TV+, followed by one new episode weekly every Wednesday.
