Jessica Alba and Cash Warren have filed for divorce after 16 years of marriage.

According to court documents, both parties filed on Feb. 7, and both listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. They listed the date of the split as Dec. 27, 2024.

Both Alba and Warren are asking for joint legal and physical custody of their three kids: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.

Regarding spousal support, both parties indicated they want to “reserve for future determination the issue of support payable” to each other.

Alba also requested her legal name be restored from Jessica Marie Warren to Jessica Marie Alba.

Alba announced her split from Warren in an Instagram post shared in January.

“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years-both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” she began. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown as a couple and in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”

Her statement continued, “We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.”

Alba and Warren met on the set of the 2005 film Fantastic Four, where Warren was working as a director’s assistant and Alba played Sue Storm. They tied the knot on May 19, 2008.

Good Morning America has reached out to Alba and Warren for comment.

Will the Oscars open with an Ariana Grande-led ‘Wicked’ medley?

The Oscars have already announced that the nominees for best original song won’t be performed on the telecast this year, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any performances at all.

According to Matthew Belloni of the industry insider newsletter Puck, the Academy Awards telecast will open with a medley of songs from Wicked, featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. He writes that the move “makes sense” because “in a year with mostly little-seen nominees, the telecast is leading with its best asset.”  Belloni also says The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences declined to comment.

Wicked received 10 nominations, including best picture, and since none of its numbers were eligible to be nominated for best original song, a performance on the telecast would likely be a very popular moment, were it to happen.

As for best original song, those nominees include Elton John‘s “Never Too Late”; two songs from the other musical in the running for the Oscars this year, Emilia Pérez; a Diane Warren-penned song called “The Journey,” from the movie The Six Triple Eight; and “Like a Bird,” from the film Sing Sing.

The Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien, air March 2 on ABC.

More English Teacher is on the way.

FX has renewed the comedy for a second season. The series created by and starring Brian Jordan Alvarez has been renewed for a 10-episode season 2, the president of FX entertainment Nick Grad announced Friday.

English Teacher was one of the most critically acclaimed new shows of 2024 and we are grateful to the producers, writers, cast, directors and crew for the show’s creative excellence,” Grad said. “We look forward to the new season.”

The renewal news comes after sexual assault allegations against Alvarez made by Jon Ebeling, his former co-star from the web series The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo, came to light. Ebeling first made his allegations public in an Instagram Story in August 2024, before he expanded on the topic in an article published by New York Magazine in December 2024.

FX made no comment on the allegations in its renewal announcement. It released a statement after the report was first published.

“We reviewed the allegations presented to us by another media outlet prior to the show’s launch. Mr. Ebeling never reached out to us with any concerns. We will have no further comment at this time,” FX said.

Season 2 of English Teacher is set to premiere sometime in 2025. The show also stars Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Sean Patton and Carmen Christopher.

Best actress Oscar nominee Karla Sofía Gascón is vowing to stay silent.

The Spanish actress, who has come under fire for offensive comments she wrote on the social platform X, took to Instagram Thursday to announce that she is staying silent for the rest of the Emilia Pérez awards campaign.

In the post’s caption, Gascón referenced an interview Emilia Pérez director Jacques Audiard gave to Deadline, where he said he was no longer in contact with her and condemned her offensive posts, in which she made comments about Islam, George Floyd and the high amount of diversity at the Oscars.

“Following Jacques interview that I understand, I decided, for the film, for Jacques, for the cast, for the incredible crew who deserves it, for the beautiful adventure we all had together, to let the work talk for itself, hoping my silence will allow the film to be appreciated for what it is, a beautiful ode to love and difference,” Gascón wrote.

She ended her post by apologizing to those she has hurt.

“I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been hurt along the way,” Gascón wrote.

‘Puppy Bowl’ referee Dan Schachner is ready for another big game

While a lot of people will be tuned into the Super Bowl on Sunday, there’s another competition going on that day and it’s way cuter.

Puppy Bowl XXI is set to air on Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TBS, truTV, Max and discovery+ starting at 2 p.m. ET, and referee Dan Schachner tells ABC Audio this year they’re showcasing more animals than ever before.

“This year we’ve got 142 dogs. It’s the most amount ever. And we’ve got a huge amount of cats in the kitty halftime show,” he shares. “We’ve got 80 different shelters being represented. And we have got … 11 special needs dogs represented.”

In fact, Dan says one of the biggest challenges they face each year is trying to top themselves from the year before.

“Our goal, of course, is to get them all adopted, so that kind of … puts pressure on us to increase our roster sizes,” he says. “We don’t want dogs languishing in shelters. So that forces us in a way to squeeze in as many dogs and cats as we can.”

This year there’s also Puppy Bowl XXI Kickoff, airing at 1 p.m. ET, which gives fans a look at what it takes to earn a spot in the Puppy Bowl.

“That’s not extremely complicated,” Schachner says. “We just want to make sure you can run and be cute and adorable and not get too distracted.”

Schachner feels a great deal of pride at what Puppy Bowl can do, even long after the show airs.

“Thousands of dogs have been adopted as a result of Puppy Bowl, but that’s just a drop in the bucket,” he says. “What is bigger is the exponential growth that these rescues that we work with have reported back to us after the fact.”

Buffy is coming back.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has confirmed she is returning to her iconic character Buffy Summers in a reboot of the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In a post shared to Instagram on Thursday, Gellar wrote that fans may have heard the news, but that she realized she had yet to confirm it.

“Three years ago, I got a call from my dear friend and mentor, Gail Berman. She told me that she wanted me to sit down with Chloé Zhao to hear her take on a potential ‘Buffy’ revival,” Gellar wrote. “I was blown away that Chloé even knew who I was, but, as I’ve always done, I told Gail that I just didn’t see a way for the show to exist again.”

Gellar wrote that Berman would usually be aligned with her in thinking that way, but that this time she heard “something different in her voice.” The actress then agreed to meet with Zhao, and their 20-minute coffee outing quickly turned into a four-hour meeting.

“We laughed, we cried, but mostly we both talked about how much this show means to us,” Gellar said. “While I didn’t agree to anything at that meeting, I did shock myself by agreeing to continue the conversation.”

Those conversations extended over the next three years, as they continued to add new collaborators, including Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, to the project. Eventually they landed on an idea for the reboot.

“I have always listened to the fans and heard your desire to revisit ‘Buffy’ and her world, but it was not something I could do unless I was sure we would get it right,” Gellar wrote. “This has been a long process, and it’s not over yet. I promise you, we will only make this show if we know we can do it right. And I will tell you that we are on the path there.”

Gellar ended her post by saying the new show is entirely because of and for the fans.

“I feel so lucky to be on this journey with these four unbelievably talented women, all of whom love ‘Buffy’ as much as I do. And as much as you do,” Gellar wrote. “Thank you to all the fans who never stopped asking for this. This will be for you.”
