Good Morning America is wrapping up the first week in its new home downtown in New York City’s Hudson Square neighborhood. After broadcasting from Times Square for 26 years, the ABC morning show is now coming to viewers live from Studio C at the state-of-the-art Robert A. Iger building.

GMA correspondent Will Reeve promises it’s still the show you know and love, but “with a brand-new look to it in a way that’s going to serve viewers and hopefully serve the country better than it ever has.”

Part of the upgrade includes new ways of reporting weather and climate.

“Personally, our weather graphics and my meteorology team behind the scenes, we changed everything,” says ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee. “And they worked so hard on making sure that it looks fresh and different. … I have multiple places, like a half dozen, I can do weather in this studio. And it’s big and it’s bold, and it’s everything that I wanted it to be.”

In addition to the new weather screens, there’s a new kitchen area for food segments and demonstrations, and a comfortable set for guest interviews and more.

“I think a lot of this is like peeling back the layers of an onion,” says GMA contributing anchor Rebecca Jarvis. “There are so many new features to this studio and every day you tune in, you’re gonna get a little something new, a new nook or cranny that you’ve never seen before.”

Good Morning America airs at 7 a.m. ET on ABC.

Pixar’s latest film Elio soars into theaters on Friday.

Yonas Asuncion Kibreab lends his voice to the young Elio in the film, who finds himself beamed up into space and mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the universe.

Kibreab told Good Morning America he feels like he has a lot in common with his character.

“We’re both super energetic kids, and I’m always down for an adventure just like Elio,” Kibreab said. “What drew me to him is just his energy and how loving he is.”

He hopes that audiences come home from the film knowing they aren’t alone.

“If you’re feeling grief or feeling alone at times just like Elio, I just want them to really understand that everything is going to be OK and you’ll get through it just like Elio does,” Kibreab said.

Elio becomes an unexpected leader in the film. If Kibreab were to become a leader himself, are there any rules he would want to mandate?

“I think having name tags, I think would make the world a lot more friendlier,” Kibreab said. “Just like, ‘Hey James, Hi Bob,’ you know.”

Melissa Rauch says goodbye to ‘Night Court’ after show fails to find another home

Night Court is officially no more.

Melissa Rauch is mourning the end of the sitcom, which NBC canceled back in May, in a recent post shared to Instagram.

“I have held off on posting anything about Night Court not continuing until I knew we did everything in our power to find another home for it,” Rauch wrote. “Perhaps it was being raised on The Goonies ‘Never Say Die’ motto or straight up denial that I didn’t want this incredibly special experience to come to an end. That said, after turning over all the stones there were to be turned over, we’ve learned that it is officially the hour to say ‘farewell.’ Or at least, ‘Until next time.'”

The lengthy message captioned a slideshow of photos from the set of Night Court.

“I was told that the original creator of Night Court, the great Reinhold Weege, said that the courtroom doors were key to the show’s engine as they ushered in endless stories. And I like to think that’s how Night Court carries on. Just as it did in the 30 years between the first incarnation ending and us beginning,” Rauch wrote. “The evergreen revolving door of oddballs and cynics populating that Manhattan arraignment court in the wee hours of the night and at the center of it all a workplace family that will forever be…until next time.”

Night Court premiered in 2023. It was a sequel series to the original show, which aired from 1984 to 1992 on NBC. Rauch played Judge Abby Stone on the series, who was the daughter of the late Judge Harry Stone from the show’s original run.

Rauch executive produced Night Court. Several of her The Big Bang Theory castmates appeared in guest roles on the show, including Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Mayim Bialik.

Ellen Pompeo says she wouldn’t have stayed on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ if she wanted critical acclaim

Ellen Pompeo is opening up about critical acclaim and her time on Grey’s Anatomy.

The actress known for portraying Dr. Meredith Grey on the popular medical drama series recently told The Hollywood Reporter if she wanted more critical acclaim, she wouldn’t have stayed on the show as long as she has.

“On Grey’s, you really only get an opportunity to be nominated for things in your first few seasons, and so that time had clearly passed,” Pompeo said. “I didn’t crave that kind of recognition. I craved the sort of financial and job security situation more than I did critical accolades — that’s why I stayed on the show.”

While Pompeo has not been the main focus of the series since 2022, her character still narrates the show and has appeared on a handful of episodes over the last few seasons. She also executive produces the series.

“Had I been [chasing] critical acclaim, I wouldn’t have stayed on Grey’s for so long,” Pompeo said. “So it wasn’t always the most important thing to me but now that I’m doing something new, it would definitely, probably help me in this next chapter of my story — moving on from Grey’s, doing other roles.”

Now she says it might be nice to receive award recognition at some point in her career.

“I haven’t given anybody a reason to believe that I could do anything else, so if people did recognize that I did do something else and it was worthy of even just [an Emmy] nomination, maybe I can give myself a compliment, because I’m not so good at that!” Pompeo said. “After 500 episodes of TV, I think it’s OK to want a little trophy now.”

Bruce Springsteen was often seen on the New Jersey set of the upcoming movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and he tells Rolling Stone that while he enjoyed his time there, it wasn’t always easy seeing his life acted out in front of him.

Springsteen is played by Jeremy Allen White in the film, and Bruce says of being on set, “I’m sure it was  much worse for the actor than for me.”

“Jeremy Allen White was very, very tolerant of me the days that I would appear on the set,” he shares. “I said to him, ‘Look, anytime I’m in the way, just give me the look and I’m on my way home.’ So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there. And it was just fun. It was enjoyable.”

Bruce does say there was “some unusualness” watching the film being made “because the movie involves, in some ways, some of the most painful days of my life. But it was a great project.”

He says White and Jeremy Strong, who plays his manager, Jon Landau, are “both fantastic, terrific in it as were all the other actors.” Springsteen adds that Stephen Graham, who plays his dad, is “out of this world” and that everyone involved in the film “were all tremendous.”

But Springsteen wasn’t always around for the more emotional scenes. He says, “If there was a scene coming up that was sometimes really deeply personal, I wanted the actors to feel completely free, and I didn’t want to get in the way, and so I would just stay at home.”

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere follows The Boss’ efforts to make his 1982 solo album Nebraska. It hits theaters Oct. 24.

Bryce Dallas Howard opens up about her childhood trauma with safety on film sets

Bryce Dallas Howard is opening up about the childhood trauma that keeps safety front of her mind while on film sets.

While promoting her new film, Deep Cover, Howard’s co-stars Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed said the actress was “always looking out for our safety and well-being” while on set.

When asked why that was a priority, Howard said, “Interestingly enough, it came from childhood trauma.”

“Everybody really does their best to make sure that it’s safe. But every once in a while, something happens. And so there have been a handful of days where I was there, where things have happened, when I was young,” Howard said.

Those incidents have caused her to “obsessively think about, ‘OK, what could have been different?'” Howard said.

She has questions about specific instances she remembers from sets of the past.

“What fell apart that that person ended up in the ocean? What fell apart that that chair fell on their head from three stories above?” Howard said. “What went wrong in terms of infrastructure? Because movie making is a military infrastructure.”

Howard says that infrastructure includes “a hierarchy where there’s a general at top and everyone else are kind of soldiers. And if you’re told to do something, you do it and you don’t question it. And that is when safety becomes an issue.”

“I am definitely a little hypervigilant about that stuff,” Howard said.

How did that translate on the set of Deep Cover?

“Bryce has just always got health and safety right at the forefront of her mind,” Mohammed said. “There were times when we were doing night shoots where Bryce is literally shoveling gravel for the crew to make sure they don’t slip on the surface, which is absolutely fine, by the way. Hypervigilant and in the most brilliant possible way.”

Charlie Sheen to release memoir titled ‘The Book of Sheen’

Charlie Sheen is telling his own story.

The actor has announced his upcoming memoir, The Book of Sheen, which will be published by Gallery Books on Sept. 9.

Sheen wrote the memoir himself. It covers his childhood spent on film sets with his father, Martin Sheen; his early fame in projects like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Spin City; and his eventual controversy-ridden time coping with divorces on drugs while starring on Two and a Half Men.

Sheen said he’s happy to be able to tell his stories from his own perspective.

“My stories have been told for far too long through the eyes and pens of others,” he said in a press release. “I think you’ll agree, it’s time to finally read these stories directly from the actual guy.”

Jennifer Bergstrom, the senior vice president and publisher of Gallery Books, spoke about acquiring Sheen’s memoir.

“Of all the Hollywood bad boys in history, Charlie Sheen might be the baddest of them all,” Bergstrom said. “Now nearly eight years sober, Charlie writes candidly of every detox, retox, drug deal, and adventure along his challenging journey to freedom. We are so proud to share his story. His talent as an actor is now matched as a writer on every page.”

The Book of Sheen is available for preorder now. It will also be available as an audiobook, which Sheen narrates.

The gang is back in the official trailer for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 17.

Rob McElhenney stars alongside Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito in the trailer for the 17th season of the series.

This time around, the gang will cross over with the cast of Abbott Elementary for brand-new hijinks in an episode told from the It’s Always Sunny cast’s point of view. The gang previously appeared on an episode of Abbott Elementary‘s fourth season.

Additionally, the trailer finds DeVito’s character, Frank, starring in a season of The Golden Bachelor.

“Philadelphia: the birthplace of our nation. Could it be the birthplace of a new love?” real-life The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer says in the trailer.

We then see DeVito standing next to Palmer outside the Bachelor mansion as limos pull up carrying hopeful contestants vowing for Frank’s heart.

“Seventeen seasons on, Ronald ‘Mac’ MacDonald, Charlie Kelly, Dennis Reynolds, Dee Reynolds and Frank Reynolds return to shamelessly shed their ‘niche’ label for grander aspirations,” the season’s official description reads. “They’ll exploit cross-network promotion to increase market share; they’ll scapegoat one of their own to avoid a PR backlash; they’ll risk everything for a handshake with the Saudis; they’ll bend the laws with side hustles to pad their pockets and they’ll change everything about themselves to appeal to a broader audience.”

Season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia premieres with its first two episodes July 9 on FXX. It will stream the next day on Hulu.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News, FXX and Hulu.
