The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood says Saturday Night Live has apologized after she called them out for a “mean and unfunny” sketch that poked fun at her appearance.

In a sketch called The White POTUS, the cast used the latest season of the HBO show to make fun of President Donald Trump‘s family and other politicians, but it also featured cast member Sarah Sherman sporting exaggerated fake teeth to play Wood’s character Chelsea and making a joke about fluoride.

Wood posted her disappointment in the sketch on her Instagram Story and followed up by sharing that many fans were sending her messages in agreement.

“Such a shame [because] I had a great time watching it a couple weeks ago,” she wrote. “Yes, take the piss for sure — that’s what the show is about — but there must be a [more clever], more nuanced, less cheap way?”

The British actress added, “At least get the accent right, seriously. I respect accuracy, even if it’s mean,” along with a laughing emoji.

Wood came back to Instagram a little while later and posted, “I’ve had apologies from SNL.” It’s unclear who from the show reached out.

She also posted, “Not [Sarah Sherman’s] fault x. Not hating on her, hating on the concept x.”

Bill Hader got fired from a movie theater job after spoiling ‘Titanic’ ending

He’ll never let go of this memory, Jack. Bill Hader says he once got fired from a movie theater job after spoiling the ending of Titanic.

During an appearance on Netflix’s Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, Hader recounts that he was working at the theater right around the time the 1997 Leonardo DiCaprio/Kate Winslet film came out. A sorority had bought out the theater to watch the film, and they were giving him a hard time as he tried to move them from blocking the doorway.

“They were making fun of me,” he says of the college girls. “They said I looked like Charles Manson. Which I kinda did. I had a little bowtie on and cummerbund, and I was like, ‘Hey guys, please move.’ And they were like, ‘No.’”

“So when they went in, as I tore the tickets, I was like, ‘Enjoy the movie. The boat sinks at the end. Leo dies,’” he continued.

While it may have been a satisfying comeback in the moment, his boss couldn’t let it slide. “The [manager] came down smiling, and he was like, ‘Hey, Bill. I have to fire you,'” Hader says. “He loved it. Couldn’t look me in the eye, though.”

Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four: The First Steps might act a little differently than we’ve seen him in the past.

Quinn tells Entertainment Weekly that his version of the character is less of a playboy than previous versions.

“He’s a man that leads with a lot of bravado, which can be an affront sometimes. But also he’s funny,” the actor says of Johnny aka the Human Torch. “Myself and [Marvel Studios head] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally. He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don’t think so.”

He adds, “This version of Johnny is less callous with other people’s feelings, and hopefully there’s a self-awareness about what’s driving that attention-seeking behavior.”

Johnny Storm was previously played by Chris Evans in the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four movies.

Fantastic Four: The First Steps hits theaters July 25. It also stars Pedro Pascal as Richard Reed/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Grimm/the Thing.

Disney is the parent company of Marvel Studios and ABC News.

Eric Dane reveals he’s been diagnosed with ALS, says he’ll return to ‘Euphoria’

Former Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane revealed he has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The 52-year-old shared the health update with People, saying, “I have been diagnosed with ALS,” and adding, “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

ALS, short for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a degenerative neurological disorder where the symptoms worsen over time, according to the National Institutes of Health.

The NIH notes that ALS causes motor neurons, a type of nerve cell in the brain and spinal cord, to deteriorate, causing the muscles to weaken and eventually leads to paralysis, taking away a person’s ability to move, speak or even breathe.

There is currently no known cure for ALS but some treatments, including FDA-approved medications and physical and speech therapies, may slow down the progression of the disorder and improve an ALS patient’s quality of life.

Dr. Leah Croll, a neurologist for Maimonides Health, told ABC News that a person’s age is considered to be one of the risk factors of ALS.

“Most people will be diagnosed somewhere between the ages of 40 and 70. And typically, the average age of diagnosis is about 55,” Croll said. “There’s really only two known risk factors for ALS. One is a family history of it and the other is age. So the older you are, the more likely you are to get it.”

Dane, who has built a 30-year acting career, shot to fame amid six seasons on the hit ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy, where he played Dr. Mark Sloan, affectionately known as “McSteamy.”

More recently, the longtime actor portrayed Cal Jacobs, the head of the Jacobs family, on Euphoria.

Dane told People that despite his diagnosis, he’s continuing to work on the hit HBO show, which begins filming its third and final season on April 14.

“I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to [the] set of ‘Euphoria’ next week,” Dane said.

But Dane, often in the spotlight, is also requesting space, telling People, “I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”

The actor is married to Rebecca Gayheart, and the couple share two daughters.

Gayheart had filed for divorce in 2018 but called it off in March 2025.

‘Doctor Who’ returns with a new, reluctant companion: ‘They’re real partners this season’

The new season of Doctor Who — the second one starring Ncuti Gatwa [Shooty GOT-wah] as The Doctor — starts streaming on Disney+ Saturday. What’s different this season is that The Doctor’s new companion, an ER nurse Belinda, played by Varada Sethu [VAH-rah-dah SAY-thoo], doesn’t want to be traveling through space and time with him; she just wants to go home.

“It kind of revolves around a companion that doesn’t want anything to do with it anymore,” Sethu laughs.

“Yeah, it completely changes the dynamic that we’ve seen traditionally,” Gatwa tells ABC Audio. “They’re on this journey together to go back home and they don’t know how to [get there]. It feels like they’re real partners this season, even though she doesn’t want to be a partner. She wants to get back to her s***.”

Also unique: Sethu was actually on the show last season, playing a character named Mundy Flynn. At the time, they had no idea that she’d be back. But, as Gatwa notes, “They wanted, for this season, someone that was going to be able to match The Doctor’s intensity. And Mundy Flynn was giving intensity! We were very surprised, but it also kind of made sense.”

Sethu says she’s “been really touched by all the love and the warmth” that the show’s rabid fanbase has given her, while Gatwa says going into his second season, “I felt more comfortable in The Doctor’s skin.” And the fans help with that.

“[They] are like the sweetest, loveliest people that you can meet,” he says, adding that it’s “beautiful that the show has this relationship with the fans — they feed the show and the show feeds them.”

“It’s just this nice beautiful cycle, so I feel very honored to be a part of it.”
