The rebellion fights on in season 2 of Andor.

Diego Luna stars as the titular Cassian Andor in the final season of the Disney+ Star Wars series, which debuts with a three-episode premiere on Tuesday. Luna told ABC News affiliate WPVI that it feels amazing to get to deliver this final chapter in his character’s story to the fans.

“I love the idea of leaving something when it’s still a pleasure to be part of it,” Luna said. “I think it’s the right time.”

Andor tells the story of how Cassian Andor was radicalized into helping steal the Death Star plans in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Luna is proud to be telling the entirety of Cassian’s story with this new season.

“Most of all, I’m proud because we managed to deliver what we promised. We said, ‘Let’s make this story. Let’s tell the story of what happens before Rogue One, and let’s make sure we finish just when Rogue One starts.’ This was just a dream and words six years ago, and now we’re ready to deliver exactly that,” Luna said.

Another thing Luna is proud of is how Cassian has evolved as a character over the decade he has been playing him.

“The show is about showing what happens when revolution erupts,” Luna said. “Where do you have to be in order to risk everything for a change? What needs to be your context, your reality, your relation with the place you belong to, your family? All those layers are in this show. We have time to tell you all of them, and that’s when a format like this is just a perfect vehicle for storytelling.”

New details about the upcoming Oscars ceremony have arrived.

The 98th annual Academy Awards will take place on March 15, 2026. We now know the nominations for the 2026 Oscars will be announced on Jan. 22, 2026.

There are also updated rules and campaign regulations for this upcoming Oscars awards season.

All voters must now watch every single nominated film in each category to be able to participate in the final round of voting, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday. The method for how this will be enforced has not yet been announced.

Additionally, the rules of eligibility and voting for the inaugural Oscar for achievement in casting have been codified. The process will include a preliminary round of voting to determine a short list of 10 films. Afterward, prior to nominations voting, the casting directors’ branch members will be invited to a presentation of the short-listed casting achievements, which will include a Q&A with the nominees.

There is also new language regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence in the rules for film eligibility.

“With regard to Generative Artificial Intelligence and other digital tools used in the making of the film, the tools neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination. The Academy and each branch will judge the achievement, taking into account the degree to which a human was at the heart of the creative authorship when choosing which movie to award,” the new language, as recommended by the Academy’s Science and Technology Council, reads.

Martin Scorsese is honoring the late Pope Francis, who died Monday at age 88, with a written tribute.

In a statement shared with ABC Audio, the legendary director honored the Catholic Church’s 266th supreme pontiff, calling him “a remarkable human being.”

“There is so much that can be said about the significance of Pope Francis and everything he meant to the world, to the church, to the papacy. I will leave that to others. He was, in every way, a remarkable human being,” Scorsese said. “He acknowledged his own failings. He radiated wisdom. He radiated goodness.”

Scorsese continued, saying Pope Francis had “an ironclad commitment to the good.”

“He knew in his soul that ignorance was a terrible plague on humanity. So he never stopped learning. And he never stopped enlightening. And, he embraced, preached and practiced forgiveness. Universal and constant forgiveness,” Scorsese said.

The director said he deeply feels the loss of Pope Francis, a man he knew personally. The two met in May 2023, when the director announced he would be making another film centered on Jesus. He has previously made two films on the subject, 1988’s The Last Temptation of Christ and the 2016 film Silence.

“The loss for me runs deep—I was lucky enough to know him, and I will miss his presence and his warmth,” Scorcese said. “The loss for the world is immense. But he left a light behind, and it can never be extinguished.”

‘The Last of Us’ star Pedro Pascal in ‘active denial’ over latest shocking episode

(SPOILER ALERT) Just two episodes into season 2, The Last of Us shocked fans with a major character death on Sunday.

Much like in the video game on which the show is based, Pedro Pascal’s Joel meets his brutal end at the hands of Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, who’s hell-bent on revenge after Joel killed her father in the hospital rampage that ended season 1. Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, Joel’s surrogate daughter, witnesses the whole tragic scene.

In a new cover story with Entertainment Weekly, Pascal says shooting the death scene was “dreamlike” and he’s in “active denial” that his character is really dead.

“I realize this more and more as I get older, I find myself slipping into denial that anything is over,” he tells the mag. “I know that I’m forever bonded to so many members of the experience and just have to see them under different circumstances, but never will under the circumstances of playing Joel on The Last of Us. And, no, I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it because it makes me sad.”

But before fans get too sad, Pascal’s Joel will still appear this season in flashbacks — some of those scenes were teased in the season 2 trailer. “We’ve shown that we screw around with time,” showrunner Craig Mazin tells EW. “So characters are gone but not forgotten, and sometimes they are remembered in interesting ways.”

The Last of Us airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

Zoë Kravitz may have just found her next directorial project.

The actress and filmmaker is in talks to direct How to Save a Marriage for Sony Pictures, Deadline reports.

This would mark her second directing gig after her debut film, Blink Twice.
