A new series based on the beloved 2006 romantic comedy The Holiday is in the works at Apple TV+.

The Holiday, directed by Nancy Meyers, starred Cameron Diaz as Amanda, a single American woman, and Kate Winslet as Iris, a single British woman.

The two women swap homes during the Christmas season and unexpectedly find love after heartbreak with Amanda meeting Graham, played by Jude Law, and Iris connecting with Miles, portrayed by Jack Black.

The film quickly became a hit and is now a Christmas classic.

The new TV series version of The Holiday is expected to keep the storyline but will introduce viewers to new characters.

Writer Krissie Ducker is set to executive produce, and actor and comedian Rob Delaney is attached to write the new series, which will be produced with Left Bank Pictures.

Deadline was the first to report the news.

You can get excited, but don’t make a sound.

John Krasinki has announced that A Quiet Place Part III, the fourth film in the A Quiet Place series, will arrive in theaters on July 9, 2027.

Krasinski made the announcement to his Instagram on Friday. He will direct, write and produce the film for Paramount Pictures.

While the plot of the upcoming film has yet to be announced, one can assume it will again follow the alien creatures who have an incredible sense of hearing.

Krasinski is returning to direct after he helmed the first two films in the franchise. Michael Sarnoski directed the 2024 spinoff film A Quiet Place: Day One, which starred Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn.

It is unclear if any of the franchise’s former stars will return for the new movie. Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds co-starred alongside Krasinski in the original 2018 film.

And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City revival is coming to an end.

The current season of the popular HBO Max series will be its last, concluding in a two-part finale airing in August, series showrunner, writer and director Michael Patrick King announced Friday.

King said he came to the conclusion that the series should end while writing the final episode of season 3, which is currently airing.

“SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King wrote, referring to Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw on the show. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

And Just Like That… debuted in December 2021. It follows the New York City-based group of friends made famous on Sex and the City as they navigate “the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” HBO Max said at the time of the show’s debut.

In addition to Parker, returning Sex and the City cast members Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis starred in the show.

Parker, Nixon and Davis each took to social media Friday to post about the announcement of the series’ ending.

“I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love,” Davis wrote. “And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.”

Parker shared a video montage on social media of clips from the show, along with a tribute to her character and the show.

“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” Parker captioned the video. “I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all.”

Parker added that both she and King saw “this chapter [as] complete.”

She concluded with a special message to fans, writing, “I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”

Fans of Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man have been treated to their first look at his brand-new suit.

Marvel shared a video showing off the new Spider-Man suit to Instagram on Friday. The quick video, which is less than 10 seconds, shows off some of the suit’s details, such as raised black webbing and a sharp red color that contrasts against it.

“Something brand new is coming… #SpiderManDay,” the post’s caption reads.

Aug. 1 is National Spider-Man Day, so it was an apt way for Marvel to celebrate.

The new Spidey suit appears to be what Holland will wear in his upcoming fourth film in the series, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is helming the film from a script by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna. Cretton takes over for Jon Watts, who directed the first three Holland-led Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.

Spike Lee directed the upcoming film Highest 2 Lowest and says A$AP Rocky did not come to play. He sang the rapper’s praises on Thursday during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“Yeah, don’t sleep on ASAP,” Lee said of the rapper’s acting performance in the movie. “In this film, Denzel [Washington] and ASAP go toe to toe.”

“What’s interesting is, even before I got involved with this film, I always thought that ASAP looked like he could be Denzel’s son. There’s a big resemblance,” he continued. “So when you see it on the screen, it adds an element of father and son. Don’t sleep on ASAP.”

Despite working with a legendary, award-winning actor like Denzel, Spike says Rocky wasn’t at all fazed.

“I’ve done five films with Denzel and a lot of times when he’s in a scene with somebody, they just get overwhelmed because he’s one of the world’s greatest living actors today,” he said. “But ASAP wasn’t having that. Toe to toe. I mean, they were going at it.”

Rocky plays Yung Felon in Highest 2 Lowest, Spike’s remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 Japanese film High and Low, according to VarietyHe’s an aspiring rapper trying to get noticed by Washington’s character, who Deadline describes as “a titan music mogul, widely known as having the ‘best ears in the business.’”

The film arrives in theaters Aug. 15 and on Apple TV+ on Sept. 5.

Lionsgate

Taron Egerton is a father on the run in the new film She Rides Shotgun.

The Lionsgate movie, which arrives in theaters Friday, is something Egerton is “enormously proud of.” He plays Nate, who takes his daughter, Polly, on a thrilling road trip across New Mexico as he tries to escape his past.

“Nate is this totally flawed, imperfect man who’s clearly made a long list of terrible life decisions,” Egerton told ABC Audio. “There’s moments in the film where he does things that you go, ‘Oh my God, who is this man and what is he capable of?’ But, like so many things in life, the first appearance of something, or the outer appearance of something, belies a character who’s actually a good person who’s trying to do the right thing. And I love him for that. I love him for his flaws.”

Eleven-year-old Ana Sophia Heger stars alongside Egerton as Polly in the film. The duo are onscreen together for most of the movie’s runtime, and Egerton says the young actress is “such an emotionally intelligent kid” with a true desire to express.

In real life, Egerton says Ana Sophia is “enormously close with her dad,” actor Rene Heger. This allowed her to relate “to the character and the situation and the world” of the film.

Egerton said it was “an absolutely extraordinary privilege” to share the screen with Heger.

“It’s without a doubt the most tender relationship I’ve had with another actor,” Egerton said. “I’m as proud of her and I am as proud of the film as I am anything else I’ve made.”

Several big stars are eyeing roles in Aaron Sorkin‘s upcoming sequel to The Social Network.

Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White are circling the film’s lead roles while Jeremy Strong is the supposed front-runner to take on the part of Mark Zuckerberg, according to Deadline.

ABC Audio has reached out to reps for Madison, White and Strong for comment.

Sorkin wrote the script for the upcoming film and will direct it for Sony Pictures. The high-profile sequel is inspired by a series of articles Jeff Horwitz wrote for The Wall Street Journal, known as The Facebook Files.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, if offers are made, Madison would play Frances Haugen, a data engineer and whistleblower, while White would play Horwitz.

Haugen went to the Securities and Exchange Commission and The Wall Street Journal with information on how Facebook’s own reporting showed the negative effects the platform was having on children and teens, as well as how misinformation from the platform caused violence and also contributed to the Jan. 6, 2021, attempted coup in Washington, D.C.

David Fincher directed The Social Network, which arrived in theaters in 2010. It earned eight Oscar nominations, including best actor for Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Zuckerberg. Sorkin won best adapted screenplay for writing its script.

Former WWE wrestling star Hulk Hogan‘s cause of death has been revealed, one week after his death at age 71.

Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, died July 24 of acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, according to a copy of Hogan’s cremation report obtained by ABC News through the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center.

Hogan’s death was certified by his primary care physician. The report notes that the wrestling icon also had a history of atrial fibrillation and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or CLL, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Acute myocardial infarction is a result of the heart muscle not getting enough blood and is commonly caused by coronary artery disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

After Hogan’s death, his wife, Sky Daily, wrote on social media that the former wrestling star had health complications, but did not specify further.

“He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time,” Daily wrote in a July 25 post. “This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”

Emergency officials in Hogan’s hometown of Clearwater, Florida, responded to a call for cardiac arrest just before 10 a.m. on July 24 and took Hogan to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
