Sabrina Carpenter is about to get even more Short n’ Sweet — on the big screen.

Deadline reports that Sabrina will star in and produce a musical inspired by Lewis Carroll‘s iconic book Alice in Wonderland for Universal Pictures, the studio that brought you Wicked. This would be Sabrina’s first major starring role in a studio film. Lorene Scafaria, who directed Jennifer Lopez in Hustlers, is set to pen the script and direct.

ABC Audio has reached out to Universal Pictures for confirmation.

In Alice in Wonderland, Alice encounters a bottle with a label reading “Drink Me,” and when she does, she becomes tiny. When she eats a cake labeled “Eat Me,” she becomes huge.

The most recent films based on Carroll’s book include Tim Burton‘s 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland, starring Mia Wasikowska, and its sequel, 2016’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, directed by James Bobin.

Sabrina’s filmography includes The Short History of the Long Road, Tall Girl, Clouds and The Hate U Give. She’s also committed to guest-starring in a Muppets special on Disney+.  She recently received six Grammy nominations for her album Man’s Best Friend.

You’ve got a friend in them.

Disney and Pixar have released the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5. Everyone’s favorite toys are back in the first look at the upcoming animated film that shows how the toys react to new technology.

Audiences are introduced to the character Lilypad in this new teaser. Lilypad is a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet that makes Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs more difficult as they compete with this new threat to playtime.

Greta Lee has joined the cast of the film as the voice of Lilypad. She is added to the main cast of Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie and Tony Hale as Forky.

As previously reported, Conan O’Brien has also joined the Toy Story family as the voice of the toilet training tech toy, Smarty Pants.

The trailer finds the toys’ caretaker, Bonnie, receiving a new package in the mail. All of the toys look on in fear — Mrs. Potato Head even takes off her eyes in anguish — as Bonnie opens the box to find Lilypad inside.

Title cards in the teaser trailer read, “The age of toys is over.”

Toy Story 5 is directed by WALL•E and Finding Nemo helmer Andrew Stanton and co-directed by Kenna Harris.

“It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favorite team of legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology, and we’re thrilled to share this first glimpse with audiences,” the directors said in a press release. “Having the remarkably talented Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humor and heart — has been incredible.”

Toy Story 5 rides like the wind into theaters on June 19, 2026.

Stranger Things creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are opening up about the characters they almost killed off in earlier seasons of the show.

While the brothers did not disclose any details about which characters could possibly meet their demise this season, they recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about main characters who came close to dying in earlier seasons.

“Hopper at the end of season 3. I think death grazed him,” Matt Duffer said. “There was a version where he perished at the end of 3. It’s been a while since we had those discussions, but I feel like he came the closest to dying.”

David Harbour has played Jim Hopper in every season of Stranger Things. His return in season 4 was shocking to some fans, after his character was caught in an explosion at the end of season 3.

Ross Duffer said it “would’ve been very easy to kill him.”

“Hopper still had growing to do. We hadn’t finished his story. It’s important to us to be able to finish the stories we want to finish and not just be offing people for shock value,” Ross Duffer said.

Matt Duffer also said the duo considered killing off fan-favorite character Steve Harrington, who is played by Joe Keery, back in season 1.

“That was close,” Matt Duffer said. “We just fell in love with Joe Keery, but had we not liked Joe Keery, Steve would’ve been gone.”

Netflix is releasing season 5 of Stranger Things in three different drops. The first four episodes arrive on Nov. 26, just ahead of Thanksgiving, while the following three episodes will debut on Dec. 25. The series finale premieres on Dec. 31.

Netflix shared that in season 2, “the stakes have never been higher as Aang, the young Avatar, learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.”

“When we started working on season 2, we gathered three forces: integrity, hope, and joy. And here we are almost three years later wrapping the end of production with an immensely talented and devoted team that met those ideals and exceeded them,” the show’s executive producer and writer Christine Boylan told Netflix’s Tudum. “I am eternally grateful to be part of this important, hilarious, action-packed team who is bringing this epic live action story to the world.”
