In a tweet Friday, the “Under the Bridge” outfit shared a mysterious video featuring a clip of what might possibly be a new song. They didn’t offer any further info in the tweet, but bassist Flea shared the same clip on his Instagram alongside the caption, “Been nurturing the feral animal for quite a while, it’s about time to set her free.”
The Peppers have been working on a new album, their first since guitarist John Frusciante rejoined the band at the end of 2019. Last October, drummer Chad Smith told Rolling Stonethat the record was “almost done.”
This summer, RHCP will embark on a world headlining tour, beginning in Europe in June before hitting the U.S. in July.
“Three versions of us exist at all times — the actual, superficial, and digital,” the “Talk Too Much” trio says. “These identities are always changing, each one informing the other. How can we know which is even ‘real’? How can I expect to limit someone to the context of my own self-awareness?”
“‘Cutie’ zooms in on control, change, and confusion,” the band adds. “On a lighter note, the song is about AI tasting a tangerine for the first time. Throw the ingredients in the musical blender.”
You can download “Cutie” now via digital outlets, and watch its accompanying video streaming on YouTube.
“Cutie” follows COIN’s 2021 single “Chapstick,” which currently sits in the top 20 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Halestorm has canceled the band’s upcoming European An Evening With tour.
The trek, which was scheduled to launch in February, was set to bring Lzzy Hale and company to intimate venues for shows filled with deep cuts and fan-favorites.
“Due to the different restrictions in all of the countries we were planning on traveling to, it is logistically impossible to bring our Evening With tour to mainland Europe this February,” Halestorm writes in a tweet.
“The good news is that we are still planning on coming to the UK + Ireland,” the band adds. “We hope all of our European Freaks understand that this was out of our control and we are looking forward to announcing shows soon!”
Halestorm just wrapped up their U.S. co-headlining tour with Evanescence earlier this month. Towards the end of the run, Halestorm’s tour bus caught fire; luckily, no one was injured.
Founding INXS guitarist Tim Farriss has lost a lawsuit he brought against the owners and operators of a boat he chartered in January 2015 on which he severed a finger on his left hand when it became caught in a chain as he attempted to drop the craft’s anchor.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that a six-day hearing was held in front of the Australian state of New South Wales’ Supreme Court this past August and September, during which the 64-year-old rocker’s legal team argued that the owners of the Omega Clipper and a boat charter company were liable for damages of 622,000 Australian dollars, or about $434,000.
They claimed that Farriss hadn’t received sufficient instructions on how to operate the anchor, that the equipment should have been in better working order, and that there was inadequate signage warning of potential risks.
Farriss’ lawyer noted that although the musician’s finger was reattached surgically, it “is in a state now where he cannot play guitar.” His attorney also noted that since the accident, Tim has been “unsurprisingly depressed” because he isn’t able to compose music as he once did, or work on a farm that he’d owned that’s been subsequently sold.
However, the judge found inconsistencies in Farriss’ explanation of how the accident occurred, and deemed that there was insufficient proof that the gear wasn’t in proper working order.
Farriss was ordered to pay the defendants’ legal costs. A member of his council said the musician was “very disappointed” with the ruling and was considering his options regarding further legal action.
INXS has been inactive since 2012, when they announced their retirement from touring.
Lena Dunham revealed why she gave Taylor Swift a credit in her new movie, Sharp Stick.
Appearing on IMDb’s “5 Burning Segments” bit, Lena said she thanked both the “Shake It Off” singer and her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, in the movie’s credits because of their involvement in the project. Although they didn’t make a cameo, the actress said they provided some help behind-the-scenes.
“They are just really great friends of mine who watched a really early cut of the film and gave me notes. They’re both just really interesting, perceptive people,” the Girls star explained. “Taylor’s been one of my close friends for a really long time and Joe is an actor who I actually ended up working with on a project that I shot just a few months after this.”
Continued Lena, “To have those smart people who are titans of industry in their own way look at the story and give me honest and generous feedback? That’s all you could ever hope for.”
Sharp Stick premiered January 22 at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie stars Lena, Kristine Froseth, Jon Bernthal, and Taylour Paige.

While artists are continuing to postpone their upcoming performances amid the pandemic, Katy Perry refused to let COVID-19 derail her first Las Vegas residency.
Speaking to her “When I’m Gone” collaborator Alesso forInterview Magazine, the singer explained why she didn’t want to pull the plug on Play, which just wrapped its first half.
“In this moment where things have become a little shaky, people are like, ‘F*** it. We’re on the Titanic, let’s just all go down together,'” said Katy. “The show that I’ve put together in Las Vegas is one of a kind. It’s the wildest, most fun and humorous show I’ve ever put together… I’m giving it my all.”
The Grammy nominee continued, “I’m 37, I’ve been doing my thing for over 12 years, and people are still showing up and giving love. I take nothing for granted, and it makes me really grateful. I wake up every day knowing that I still have to give it my all — even if I’m not feeling 100%. I shake it off and give them a show.”
Katy added that performing in Vegas is a completely different animal than touring, saying that playing in Sin City is “raucous and full of people that are definitely peaking. They’re either there for a bachelorette or a 21st birthday.”
The “Roar” singer noted her first shows “were amazing,” but she attests nothing compares to the last one she had on January 15 because it “was the best one I’ve had so far.”
“Everybody was on their feet. It wasn’t my hardcore fans—it was a Vegas audience. It was pretty dope to see,” she grinned.
Katy resumes Play in March and will give us a taste of her residency this weekend when she flies out to New York City to perform on Saturday Night Live.
There have been a number of attempts to produce a biopic about Keith Moon over the last couple of decades, but it seems that an official film about the late Who drummer finally is moving forward.
In an exclusive report, Variety reveals that surviving Who members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are serving as executive producers on the project, called The Real Me, which is expected to be shot in the U.K. this summer.
The movie will be directed by Paul Whittington, whose credits include several episodes of The Crown, while the script will be penned by screenwriter Jeff Pope, known for his work on Stan & Ollie and the Oscar-nominated Philomena. Longtime Who manager Bill Curbishley is one of the film’s producers.
The Real Me — whose title is taken from a song on the band’s 1973 album Quadrophenia — is expected to begin shooting in June; work on assembling the cast began a few months ago.
Considered one of the greatest all-time rock drummers, Moon was also an infamous partier and prankster who battled alcohol and drug addiction. He died of a drug overdose in 1978 at age 32. Daltrey has been talking about making a movie about Moon since the early 2000s.
Actress, cookbook author, and Food Network personality Valerie Bertinelli has opened up to AARP The Magazine‘s February/March issue about love, loss, and regret.
The ex-wife of music icon Eddie Van Halen is frank in the piece, noting, “I don’t buy it when someone says, ‘I have no regrets. It’s made me who I am today.’ That’s B.S.”
She adds, “I regret not asking more questions and opening up with my mom. I was uncomfortable with her pain. It was selfish.”
Regret came into play in discussing her 20-year marriage to Van Halen, as well, regarding how she dealt with his battle with addiction. The pair divorced in 2007, and Van Halen died of cancer in 2020. “I could have been so much more understanding with why Ed needed alcohol and drugs to deal with his pain,” Bertinelli explains.
“That’s what he was taught at a young age. They’re the only things he had in his toolbox. I took it too personally. Like, ‘If you love me, you wouldn’t do this.’ That’s not true.”
Bertinelli adds, “He did love me more than anyone has ever loved me in my entire life. I was selfish in that I just wanted him to get better for me. As I got older, I just wanted him to get better for him.”
The 61-year-old also mentions how she’s trying to give herself a break, particularly in light of the recent loss of her friend and former Hot in Cleveland co-star Betty White. “I used to say, when I’m 88, I’m going to be like Betty…eating my hot dogs and Red Vines…and drinking vodka on the rocks with the lemon twist. So I recently had a hot dog, but I’m not as crazy about Red Vines. I prefer Twizzlers.”
Shawn Mendes has been gearing up for his pandemic-delayed global Wonder Tour and, on Friday, he revealed some bad news — he had to push a slew of dates back to 2023. He said he had no choice but to delay his European leg of the tour because of the ongoing threat of COVID-19.
“I’m so sorry I won’t be able to see you guys sooner,” he said on social media. “We unfortunately were forced to move the UK/EU tour dates to 2023 due to the pandemic.” The Grammy winner elaborated on the cause of the delay in a separate statement, which read, “This was a really difficult decision to make.”
“With all of the logistical, travel and venue restrictions still uncertain in Europe due to the pandemic, we were forced to make the tough decision of moving the tour leg to the end of the tour when we are confident we are able to travel and can put on the best possible show we want to, safely and at full capacity,” Shawn explained.
He also teased, “I am working on a ton of new music for you all! I’m excited for you to hear.”
In all, 32 stops across Europe and the U.K. were delayed by a year, with the new leg of the tour set to kick off on May 31, 2023 with the first stop set in Bologna, Italy.
Shawn’s North American dates have not been affected and he promised that “tour will start in June.”
