Ciara and husband Russell Wilson attended the Fashion Scholarship Fund gala Monday with daughter Sienna Princess Wilson and son Future Zahir Wilburn. In an interview with USA Today, Ciara explained why she decided to bring them along.
“Clearly, they have a lot of energy, but it makes us so happy that they can see us in moments like this, you know, because they are the future,” she said.
“We want them to be inspired in rooms like this, and see mommy and dad do what they do … they’re also going to go back to doing homework in a second,” she continued. “We’re staying focused around here.”
Ciara and Russell were honored at the gala for their contributions to fashion and philanthropy, as well as their commitment to being inspirations to the youth. While accepting the honor, according to Vogue, Ciara encouraged students to continue despite experiencing setbacks, which she described as “your beauty marks in the making.” Russell added, “I think it first starts with showing people that your language matters and what you say to yourself and what you say to others matters.” They also talked about their Why Not You Foundation and the opportunities that it creates.
“Keep pushing the limits. Always put yourself out there,” he said, according to Vogue. “Even if you don’t trust your ideas, just go with your gut and you’ll figure it out.”

A previously unreleased live recording of Gregg Allman in concert is set for release in April.
Gregg Allman Band’s Great As Ever: Live In Philadelphia ’86 features a never-before-heard recording from the late rocker’s personal archives. It captures Allman’s Jan. 11, 1986, concert at the intimate Chestnut Cabaret in Philadelphia.
The 13-song set features an early version of what would become Allman’s hit track “I’m No Angel,” as well as the solo track “Queen of Hearts” and performances of Allman Brothers Band classics like “Midnight Rider,” “It’s Not My Cross To Bear” and “Melissa,” the latter of which was dedicated to his ABB bandmate Dickey Betts, despite their then-estrangement.
Gregg Allman Band’s Great As Ever: Live In Philadelphia ’86 will be released April 10 and is available for preorder now.
And Gregg Allman fans have more to look forward to in 2026. The documentary Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul is expected to premiere in theaters this summer. The film, directed by Grammy and Golden Globe award-winning filmmaker James Keach, will feature never-before-seen interviews and rare archival performances.

(WASHINGTON) — Senators on both sides of the aisle as well as the White House seem to be increasingly optimistic that a deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security is on the horizon — as Transportation Security Administration lines grow at airports and lawmakers feel the pressure.
Republican Sen. Katie Britt, a key negotiator for the GOP, told reporters Monday evening that there was a solution on DHS funding. Her comments came after she and other GOP negotiators — Sens. Markwayne Mullin (who was later confirmed to be the DHS secretary), Lindsey Graham, Bernie Moreno and Steve Daines — met with President Donald Trump at the White House Monday.
The atmosphere on Capitol Hill appears ripe for a DHS funding deal — as the partial shutdown of the department stretches into its 39th day.
Some Senate Republicans are beginning to coalesce around a proposal to fund every agency inside DHS — except immigration enforcement and removal operations. Components of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, like Homeland Security Investigations, which handles things like human smuggling investigations, could still be funded.
Some Republicans have pushed for tackling immigration funding in separate legislation down the road — potentially in another reconciliation bill, which only requires a simple majority to pass.
“Conversations are ongoing but this deal seems to be acceptable,” a White House official said Tuesday.
As the partial shutdown drags on, ICE has money to continue its operations, following a $75 billion cash infusion over five years in the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that Trump signed into law last summer. ICE agents continue to be paid, while their other DHS colleagues are not.
Democrats — who are blocking DHS funding and demanding ICE reforms following the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal law enforcement in Minneapolis — still haven’t publicly agreed to anything, although they’ve been open to this piecemeal funding approach for weeks.
Democratic senators on Monday expressed sentiments that talks were trending in a positive direction.
“Democrats and Republicans have been trying to come to some negotiation, and I’m hearing that there is a potential solution,” Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock said.
It’s not yet clear how an emerging deal factors in Trump’s demand over the weekend that Republican not make a deal with Democrats on DHS funding without also passing his voting and gender-affirming care legislation, the SAVE America Act.
The legislation would restrict mail-in ballots, require photo ID at polling places and mandate that states obtain proof of citizenship before registering a person to vote in a federal election. Trump has tacked additional provisions onto the list of things he would like to see in the law: banning transgender women from playing in women’s sports and gender-affirming surgeries for minors.
SAVE America Act provisions could also be included in a future reconciliation bill, although nothing is set in stone, and the legislation may not meet strict budget rules to be included in a reconciliation package.
Pressure on lawmakers is mounting as lines grow at airports across the country and tens of thousands of workers, including TSA officers, go without pay. Senators continue to get paid.
ICE agents sent by Trump are now stationed at more than a dozen airports across the nation to assume some of the duties of TSA officers affected by the partial shutdown.
While these recent developments mark the most progress on a DHS funding deal in weeks, it’s still a long way from a done deal. Even if the Senate agrees on a deal and passes it, it would still need to go back to the House.

Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall has shared a video statement regarding a former associate of the band who’s pleaded guilty to an underage sex offense dating back to 2002.
Unlike the band’s initial written statement, McCall’s video names the associate as Jed Gordon, former Parkway Drive merch manager and brother of drummer Ben Gordon.
“Number one, we support the victim,” McCall says. “We support the victim 100 percent. She deserves justice, she deserves her space, she deserves her time, she deserves to be heard.”
“Number two, we condemn this,” he continues. “We condemn this without hesitation. If there was anything in our initial response that left people wondering about that, I want to make this crystal clear for everyone: this is f*****.”
Parkway Drive began working with Jed Gordon in 2003. In their initial statement, the band said Jed Gordon “hasn’t toured with us since 2017,” but “more recently he’s been part of our Australian online mech team.”
“We employed him for a long time,” McCall says. “We put him in a position where he had contact with a lot of people, and it’s our moral responsibility to carry … we see it, and we hold it.”
McCall says that Parkway Drive “knew [Jed Gordon] could be bad with people” and apologizes to anyone who’s “had bad interactions with Jed while employed with us,” but maintains that they “did not know the extent of his behavior.”
“We’ve been completely blindsided by this,” McCall says.
McCall also apologized to anyone who felt Parkway Drive’s initial statement was “cold.”
“This is us putting the human connection to it,” McCall says. “This whole story’s heartbreaking.”

Bridgerton is so back. Well, back in production on season 5, that is.
Netflix has announced that cameras have started rolling on the fifth season of the hit romance series Bridgerton. This new season will feature the middle Bridgerton daughter Francesca as its lead. It will also be the first season of the series to have a queer couple at the forefront of the story.
“Two years after losing her beloved husband John, Fran decides to reenter the marriage mart for practical reasons,” the season’s official logline reads. “But when John’s cousin Michaela returns to London to tend to the Kilmartin estate, Fran’s complicated feelings will have her questioning whether to stick to her pragmatic intentions or pursue her inner passions.”
Hannah Dodd will once again star as Francesca Stirling, the Countess of Kilmartin, in this new season. Francesca, who “has long felt out of place in the world,” according to a description from Netflix, “will make discoveries about herself that could change everything” in season 5.
Masali Baduza will return as Michaela Stirling, Francesca’s love interest and the cousin of her late husband. Underneath her “charming and vivacious exterior hides a vulnerable young woman who is quick to run the second she feels discomfort. But this season, Michaela must face her vulnerability head-on as she’s forced to navigate her relationship to her late cousin’s legacy — and to Francesca,” according to a description from Netflix.
Bridgerton season 5 will consist of eight episodes. Jess Brownell serves as its showrunner and executive producer, while Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica and Chris Van Dusen also executive produce.

Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith and Michael Stipe were among the performers at Democracy Now!’s 30th anniversary event at Riverside Church in New York City Monday night.
Springsteen was a surprise guest and treated the audience to a performance of his new protest song “Streets of Minneapolis.”
“This past winter when federal troops brought death and terror into the streets of Minneapolis they picked the wrong city,” Springsteen said. “The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis was an inspiration to the entire country. Their strength and their commitment told us that this is still America and the reactionary nightmare and the invasion of an American city will not stand,” he added. “Their strength gave us hope. They gave us courage.”
“And for those who gave their lives,” he continued, mentioning Renée Good and Alex Pretti — two Minneapolis residents who were fatally shot by federal agents — “their bravery their sacrifice and their names will not be forgotten.”
Following the song, Springsteen was asked about his upcoming Land of Hope and Dreams American tour, sharing that he’s going to hit cities that “had to deal with ICE.” With the trek ending in Washington, D.C., he added he has a “few words to say to the f***** White House.”
Elsewhere during the evening, Stipe was joined by The National’s Aaron Dessner to perform the track “No Time For Love Like Now,” originally recorded with Big Red Machine and featuring Justin Vernon. Smith, joined by her daughter, Jesse Smith, and guitarist Tony Shanahan, read a passage from her book Bread of Angels and performed “Peaceable Kingdom,” along with a part of her iconic tune “People Have the Power.”
The night ended with all the musicians coming on stage for an encore of Smith’s “People Have The Power.”
