Two different award shows celebrating two different things took place Thursday, but both featured performances by big-name bands.

Twenty One Pilots gave their song “The Line” its live debut at the 2024 Game Awards, which honor the best in video games. The “Stressed Out” duo recorded “The Line” for the Netflix animated series Arcane, which is set in the universe of the League of Legends video game.

The set also included Royal & the Serpent and d4vd, who performed their Arcane songs “Wasteland” and “Remember Me,” respectively.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Billboard Music Awards marked Linkin Park’s award show debut with new vocalist Emily Armstrong. They performed “The Emptiness Machine,” the lead single off their comeback album, From Zero.

LP also won the BBMA for Top Rock Duo/Group and Top Hard Rock Artist. Other winners included Noah Kahan‘s Stick Season for Top Rock Album, Sleep Token‘s Take Me Back to Eden for Top Hard Rock Album and Falling in Reverse‘s Jelly Roll collaboration “All My Life” for Top Hard Rock Song.

Coldplay, who won Top Rock Touring Artist, performed as well with a rendition of “ALL MY LOVE.”
