Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino will be taking some time away from the road after recently undergoing cervical spine surgery.

“Although it was a total success and the doctors predict a full recovery, it will take some time yet before I’m show-ready,” Fogarino writes in a Facebook post. “In my absence, our good friend and colleague Chris Broome will continue to fill in on drums. He’s amazing and I rest well knowing the beats are in his hands.”

Interpol has a run of California dates scheduled to close out October, followed by a trip to Australia and Asia in November. They will also play shows in New York City and Washington, D.C., in December.

Fogarino didn’t provide a timetable for his return but shares, “I miss playing with the band and can’t wait to get back to it soon.”

“I’ll keep you posted with updates as they come,” he adds.

Interpol’s most recent album is 2022’s The Other Side of Make-Believe.
