Third man charged in murder of Run-DMC’s Jam Master Jay

A third man was charged Tuesday with the 2002 murder of Run-DMC‘s Jam Master Jay, ABC News has confirmed.

Jay Bryant, 49, is currently being held on unrelated federal drug charges and will be arraigned on the murder charge at a later date.

Jam Master Jay, born Jason William Mizell, founded Run-DMC in 1983 with Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels. He was shot to death on October 30, 2002 in a recording studio in Jamaica, Queens. He was 37.

Karl Jordan and Ronald Washington were previously charged with killing. Both are awaiting trial.
