With the help of her fans, Trisha Yearwood‘s been able to make huge strides in helping one of her favorite causes: animal rescue, particularly for those in shelters.
“Because of your generosity, in just 18 short months, #DottiesYard has made grants in all 50 states to over 100 animal non-profits!” she shared on Wednesday. “Thank you all for joining us in our mission to help all creatures great and small and to get #everydog adopted. We’re just getting started!! xo”
Dottie’s Yard is Trisha’s nonprofit that helps cover medical bills, nutrition and other basics for shelter animals. It’s named for her beloved pup Dottie, who showed up at her house when she and husband Garth Brooks lived in Oklahoma.
Last year, fans helped raise $38,000 as part of the #BettyWhiteChallenge, and just last week, Trisha hosted her annual Dottie’s Yard fundraiser on TalkShopLive. If you’d like to help, you can still make a donation online.
