Miley Cyrus reportedly wants to be removed from a song she contributed to for a new Morrissey album, Bonfire of Teenagers.

The former The Smiths frontman previously shared on his Morrissey Central website that the upcoming record would feature guest vocals by the pop star, as well as from Iggy Pop. In a new post over the holiday weekend, Morrissey Central reports that, “Miley Cyrus now wants to be taken off the song ‘I Am Veronica’ for which she volunteered backing vocals almost two years ago.”

Whether or not Cyrus’ request is granted, it’ll probably be a while until we hear “I Am Veronica” or any of Bonfire of Teenagers. The same Morrissey Central post also states that Moz “has disassociated himself with Capitol Records (Los Angeles), who control the hidden album Bonfire of Teenagers.”

If and when Bonfire of Teenagers does come out, it’ll be the follow-up to 2020’s I Am Not a Dog on a Chain. The Andrew Watt-produced record is also set to feature contributions from Flea and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as ex-RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer
