Coldplay‘s upcoming August 19 concert at London’s Wembley Stadium is being postponed due to a strike planned by United Kingdom transport workers.
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers, or RMT, announced Tuesday that workers on the London Underground public transportation system, also known as the Tube, and the Overground rail network would be striking for 24 hours on August 19 over pension and pay disputes, respectively.
As a result, Coldplay will be moving the show to August 21.
“We have been informed that there will be insufficient transport for ticket holders on August 19 so, with regret, the event cannot be licensed for that day,” Coldplay writes in a statement.
All previously purchased tickets for the August 19 show will be honored at the rescheduled date. Those who can no longer attend may receive refunds at point of purchase. Tickets that are returned will go back on sale August 12.
Coldplay is playing a total of six Wembley Stadium shows beginning August 12, all of which are currently sold out. Two other shows on the run, scheduled for August 13 and 20, also coincide with planned rail strikes, but since they “do not affect the London Underground network,” those dates will go on as planned.
