Charlie Puth and his wife, Brooke Puth, just became first-time parents, so it’s a good thing Charlie’s new album is the perfect soundtrack for that.

The album, Whatever’s Clever!, arrives on Friday. He tells Vogue, “I’m really excited that my life has finally lined up musically to where I want to be. The music is directly parallel with that, which is why Whatever’s Clever! is all Yacht Rock 2026-style.”

Among the musical guests on the album are yacht rock icons Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins, as well as Kenny G and even Jeff Goldblum.

“With all respect to the artists that are featured on this album, it’s music I would listen to as a dad, if that makes sense. So I feel very aligned with it,” Charlie adds. “I think it’s very serendipitous and there’s meaning behind everything, and there might be a reason why this album is arriving in a similar timeframe.”

Charlie and Brooke welcomed their son Jude Crawford Puth on March 13.

He adds, “I’m gonna enter this really exciting stage of life and I feel like this is the perfect soundtrack to that. I feel like it’s a perfect time to get to write really specific songs about subjects that you might not have heard me sing about.”

Charlie describes the album’s first single, “Changes,” as sounding like “a Steve Winwood, happy-go-lucky, 1992-era, optimistic-sounding, big snare of a song.” The singer, who was born in 1991, notes, “I made this album for myself, and it’s full of music from the year I was born. It’s a passion project.”

“In the most humble way, I have nothing to prove anymore. That’s at least how I feel,” Charlie says.

Cardi B has been performing in sold-out arenas as part of her Little Miss Drama tour, reportedly going against doctor’s orders.

In Allure‘s March issue, she revealed that she was told to slow down in January after a physician found her hormone levels were elevated. Instead, she stuck with her plan to go on her first tour in seven years.

“I just want to do everything now,” she said. “I told myself I needed two years of being uncomfortable so I could be comfortable. Things just change every single f****** day. And it’s like, This is your moment. This is the time to do it.”

She added, “I want to give my fans a good moment and have been pulling strings to make this s*** happen, and it’s turning out beautiful.”

Cardi is set to perform back-to-back shows at Madison Square Garden Wednesday and Thursday. Ahead of that, she’s giving fans in her hometown of the Bronx a preview of her Grow-Good Beauty hair care line via a tour bus designed to resemble a beauty supply store. It will be open Tuesday until 6 p.m. ET.

In the Allure story, Cardi noted her goal with the hair care line is to build a loyal customer base. “People are gonna buy my s*** just off my name, but are you gonna come back? It’s about coming back,” she said.

Noting the stakes are higher with beauty products, she added, “A bad song is not gonna f*** up your life. Imagine you put some s*** into your hair, and you damage it, and I’m responsible?! Never.”

Grow-Good Beauty launches on April 15.

May will mark the 60th anniversary of The Beach Boys’ iconic album Pet Sounds, and the milestone is being celebrated with a whole host of new releases.

On May 15, fans will get a glimpse of the making of the album with the release of The Pet Sounds Sessions Highlights, featuring material from the 1997 four-CD box set The Pet Sounds Sessions. The new release contains 25 alternate takes, a cappella versions and tracking sessions, all of which are making their vinyl debut.

The Pet Sounds Sessions Highlights will be released as a two-CD set or two-LP set. The LP versions will be released on standard black vinyl and limited-edition splatter/color variants. Also on May 15, the original 90-track The Pet Sounds Sessions will be released to digital services.

As a preview of the new set, a three-track EP featuring different versions of the Pet Sounds song “Sloop John B” is out now.

The Pet Sounds 60th anniversary will also be celebrated with the release of a Vinylphyle Edition of the album on 180-gram black vinyl, and cut from the original mono and stereo analog tapes. Interscope-Capitol’s Definitive Sound Series will also release a limited-edition pressing of 6,000numbered copies of the album in the original mono configuration.

Released May 16, 1966, Pet Sounds is often considered one of the best albums of all time. Recorded a year after Brian Wilson quit touring and suffered a breakdown in 1964, the album featured such classic Beach Boys songs as “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows” and “Sloop John B.”

The album peaked at #10 on the Billboard Album chart; in 2004 it was chosen by the Library of Congress for inclusion in the National Recording Registry.

By now, most fans know that the boy band phenomenon of the late ’90s and early 2000s had a dark side, and it’s on display in a new documentary called Boy Band Confidential, part of Investigation Discovery’s Hollywood Demons series. It streams April 13 and April 14 on ID.

*NSYNC’s Joey Fatone is the executive producer of the doc, and he says in a statement, “Being in a boy band was one of the greatest experiences of my life but it also came with challenges we didn’t always understand at the time. This project gave all of us a chance to reflect, to be honest, and to share what really happened behind the spotlight.”

Among those who tell their stories in the doc: Joey’s bandmate Lance Bass; Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean; 98 Degrees’ Nick Lachey and Jeff Timmons; Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman; LFO’s Brad Fischetti; and O-Town’s Ashley Parker Angel.

In the trailer, which Joey shared on Instagram, Ashley says, “I was sitting on the 38th-floor balcony of my New York apartment and I just thought about jumping off.”

According to a press release, the doc delves into the “systemic exploitation” of boy band members, as well as “the pressures, the power struggles and the darker realities behind the scenes.”

“Very excited about this project!!! a lot of stories some people know and some people don’t,” Joey wrote on Instagram.

Ciara and husband Russell Wilson attended the Fashion Scholarship Fund gala Monday with daughter Sienna Princess Wilson and son Future Zahir Wilburn. In an interview with USA Today, Ciara explained why she decided to bring them along.

“Clearly, they have a lot of energy, but it makes us so happy that they can see us in moments like this, you know, because they are the future,” she said.

“We want them to be inspired in rooms like this, and see mommy and dad do what they do … they’re also going to go back to doing homework in a second,” she continued. “We’re staying focused around here.”

Ciara and Russell were honored at the gala for their contributions to fashion and philanthropy, as well as their commitment to being inspirations to the youth. While accepting the honor, according to Vogue, Ciara encouraged students to continue despite experiencing setbacks, which she described as “your beauty marks in the making.” Russell added, “I think it first starts with showing people that your language matters and what you say to yourself and what you say to others matters.” They also talked about their Why Not You Foundation and the opportunities that it creates.

Law Roach and Stefan Larsson were also honored at the event, while Travis Scott, who supports FSF through The Cactus Jack Design Ethos Scholarship Program, made a surprise appearance.

“Keep pushing the limits. Always put yourself out there,” he said, according to Vogue. “Even if you don’t trust your ideas, just go with your gut and you’ll figure it out.”

Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall has shared a video statement regarding a former associate of the band who’s pleaded guilty to an underage sex offense dating back to 2002.

Unlike the band’s initial written statement, McCall’s video names the associate as Jed Gordon, former Parkway Drive merch manager and brother of drummer Ben Gordon.

“Number one, we support the victim,” McCall says. “We support the victim 100 percent. She deserves justice, she deserves her space, she deserves her time, she deserves to be heard.”

“Number two, we condemn this,” he continues. “We condemn this without hesitation. If there was anything in our initial response that left people wondering about that, I want to make this crystal clear for everyone: this is f*****.”

Parkway Drive began working with Jed Gordon in 2003. In their initial statement, the band said Jed Gordon “hasn’t toured with us since 2017,” but “more recently he’s been part of our Australian online mech team.”

“We employed him for a long time,” McCall says. “We put him in a position where he had contact with a lot of people, and it’s our moral responsibility to carry … we see it, and we hold it.”

McCall says that Parkway Drive “knew [Jed Gordon] could be bad with people” and apologizes to anyone who’s “had bad interactions with Jed while employed with us,” but maintains that they “did not know the extent of his behavior.”

“We’ve been completely blindsided by this,” McCall says.

McCall also apologized to anyone who felt Parkway Drive’s initial statement was “cold.”

“This is us putting the human connection to it,” McCall says. “This whole story’s heartbreaking.”

Zara Larsson’s glow-up is complete: She’s been tapped to perform at one of the most star-studded charity events of the year.

Zara will provide the entertainment at the 32nd installment of amfAR’s Gala Cannes, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 21.

The charity, whose founding national chairperson was the late screen icon Elizabeth Taylor, is focused on ending HIV/AIDS, as well as improving global health. Over the years, the charity has raised over $950 million for scientific research.

In a statement to Variety, amfAR CEO Kyle Clifford said of Zara, “She is not only an exciting and talented artist, but she is also a longtime supporter of our mission and we could not be more grateful to have her with us.”

Last year’s event included performances by Adam Lambert, Duran Duran and Ciara, while attendees included Leonardo DiCaprio, Spike Lee, Colman Domingo, Jeff Bezos and Heidi Klum.

Other singers who’ve performed at the gala over the years include Cher, Nick Jonas, Christina Aguilera, Charli XCX, Ellie Goulding and Ricky Martin.

Meanwhile, Zara and PinkPantheress are celebrating the fact that their collab “Stateside” has just hit #1 on Billboard‘s Global 200 chart. It’s the first #1 on any Billboard chart for either artist.
