Lil Nas X appeared in a Van Nuys, California, courtroom on Monday to enter a not guilty plea to four felony charges, which were filed against him following his arrest in Los Angeles on Aug. 21.

The “Old Town Road” singer, born Montero Lamar Hill, appeared in-person at the Van Nuys Courthouse in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon to enter his not guilty plea, according to Los Angeles ABC station KABC.

The 26-year-old rapper was charged earlier in the day with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. All four counts are felony charges, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

ABC News has reached out to reps for Lil Nas X for comment.

Lil Nas X was arrested and taken to a hospital on Aug. 21 after he was seen roaming down a street in Los Angeles, nearly naked, sources told ABC News at the time.

Video shared by TMZ Hip Hop on the day of his arrest shows Lil Nas X walking in nothing but white cowboy boots and his underwear.

In the video, he sings and interacts with the person filming, saying, “Didn’t I tell you to put the phone down? Uh oh, someone’s gonna have to pay for that.”

The “Montero” artist can also be heard in the video making comments about being at a party as he struts down the street and strikes a pose.

Lil Nas X has not commented publicly on his arrest.

John Fogerty wanted to tag CCR rerecordings ‘Taylor’s Version’ on ’Legacy’ album

John Fogerty‘s new album, Legacy, includes rerecorded versions of classic Creedence Clearwater Revival songs like “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” Each track on the album is tagged “John’s Version,” a nod to Taylor Swift‘s own rerecording project. As it turns out, Fogerty wanted to be even more direct with his reference to the pop star.

“I wanted them to call [the rerecordings] Taylor’s Version,” Fogerty tells Billboard. “I lobbied for that: ‘You want this to sell? Call it ‘Taylor’s.'”

Swift started her rerecording process after her master recordings to her first six studio albums were purchased by music mogul Scooter Braun in 2019. Braun later sold the masters to a private equity firm, from which Swift finally purchased them in May 2025.

Similarly, Fogerty decided to record Legacy after fully regaining the rights to his CCR catalog.

“I was so happy to see her solution to her predicament … I was applauding her doing [the rerecordings],” Fogerty says. “I’m convinced that her rerecording those albums in many ways reset the condition, so that she was able to purchase the originals. She was strong enough and powerful enough a force that she rearranged the playing field.”

Legacy is out now.

Shaboozey will be “walking” into movie theaters in September as part of the latest Stephen King film adaptation.

The “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer has recorded a new song, “Took a Walk,” for the end titles of the movie The Long Walk, which will be out Sept. 12. The song hits digital platforms Sept. 5.

Shaboozey first got involved with the project when Lionsgate, the studio releasing the movie, asked for permission to use his song “Last of My Kind” in the trailer. But after he saw the film, he was inspired to write a completely new song.

“I really felt for these characters. These guys seemingly have no future, but hold on tight to the idea of hope — a better life, a better world. It felt familiar,” Shaboozey says in a statement. He collaborated on the song with, among others, Stephen J. Wilson, who also contributed guitar.

The movie feels timeless and soulful, so I thought Stephen’s guitar would be the perfect complement to leave fans with a song that feels timeless,” Shaboozey adds.

Based on the 1979 novel The Long Walk, which King wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, the movie is set in a dystopian future where young men can win the prize of a lifetime by participating in an annual contest: They have to walk along a predetermined route, but if they don’t maintain a speed of at least 3 miles an hour, they’ll be shot. The walk ends when there’s only one man left.

Hear the haunting ‘full circle mix’ of George Jones & Alan Jackson on ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’

‘Opry 100: Country’s Greatest Songs’ cover (Virgin Music Group/Grand Ole Opry)

There’s quite a story behind the Grand Ole Opry’s new “full circle mix” of the George Jones classic “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

Jones’ signature tune, written by Bobby Braddock and Curly Putman, is widely considered one of the greatest country songs of all time. In the new version, Jones sings the first verse in a performance from the Opry stage on June 12, 1993.

Through the use of modern technology, Alan Jackson picks up the second verse during his May 2, 2013, homage from the Opry stage at Jones’ funeral.

The “full circle” mix of “He Stopped Loving Her Today” is the second release from Opry 100: Country’s Greatest Songs following Ashley McBryde‘s version of Hank Williams‘ “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” which came out in July.

The full 20-track album arrives Nov. 7.
